Blaine's POV

Disgust is all I feel as I look at my Aunt.  "You will never be forgiven and cut off as soon as Will comes to live with me.  Try to make any moves, and I will destroy you."

"Blaine, I was only honoring Cassidy's wishes.  I took good care of Willie and made sure he knew Cassidy loved him.  I didn't do any of this out of spite, I love my sister and all of you." She said.

"You could have told us so we could have gotten her the help she needed," I said.

"She said there was still a man out there that could do her harm.  I believed her, Blaine.  That's why she was running again, to get away from him."

"Who?" I asked again.

Her face fell.  "I don't know, she refused to tell us."

"How much of your story was bullshit?" I asked, and Corey walked into the room.

"Most of it." He said, then sat down.

"Tell me your version of the truth," I said to him.

"She was never going to fake her death.  She truly thought this man was going to kill her, so that's why she pre-arranged everything with the funeral home.  She gave us strict instructions to make sure Will was taken to you if anything happened to her, your aunt just wanted to bleed more money out of you.  Otherwise, Will would have been taken to you right away.  Savannah doesn't care about Cassidy's request, she just doesn't want to work." He sat back and crossed his arms.

"This man, was he one of Bertinelli's men?" I asked him.

He shook his head.  "I don't think so, it's something more recent.  Maybe one of his enemies, that's my guess.  I told her to reach out to you or Bertinelli instead of running again, but she wouldn't listen.  She was too ashamed to return home again with even more troubles, and she didn't trust Bertinelli. She lied to us and said she was going to fake her death. She wanted someone to think she was dead, but faking your death isn't easy, and she had no clue how to do it." He said.

"Why are you telling me this while your wife sits there telling lies?" I asked.

"I filed for divorce, I'm tired of living this way.  After this is over, she will just find another way to scam someone out of their money.  I was all for this when I thought we were actually helping, but Savannah didn't help with Cassidy's paranoia." He said.

"I did nothing of the sort." She defended herself.

"Really?  Aren't you the one that talked her into running again instead of going home?  You didn't want her to go home and tell the family what you did, they would cut you off.  Even your mother cut you off.  You threatened to hurt Will if she told anyone what you were doing." Corey said.

"She what?  She threatened Will?" I asked in a pissed off tone.

"That's the only reason I stuck around." He said.

"Right, and you couldn't have told us?" He doesn't fool me.

"Nope, this one here said she would hurt Cassidy and Will both. I tried to take off with Will a few times, but she called the cops.  She said if I did it again, it would be kidnapping."

He's right, it would have been.

"Why are you talking to me now?" I asked.

"Are you kidding?  I'm free to go wherever I want. I'm a free man and looking forward to going home and finding work.  I am more than happy to put this behind me." He said.

I sat back and looked him over.  "How would you like to make a little money?"

He shrugged.  "Who doesn't like to make money?"

"Good, Savannah you have thirty minutes to pack your shit.  Corey, you're going with me.  Will trusts you, and I promised Cora I would bring him home.  I'll set up a place for you to stay under heavy guard.  I don't want to rip Will away from everything he knows, that's the only reason you're staying with him. Savannah, go home to Grandmother and tell her what all you've done.  You're also never seeing Will again." I said.

"I'm your family!" Savannah snapped.

"You're no family of mine. You'll have to face my mother and tell her what you've done."

She shook her head.  "No, I did nothing wrong. I never threatened to hurt my niece or my great-nephew."

"Stop with the lies," I said as I stood. "I'll have my men take you to the airport.  Oh, and you'll be flying commercial."

"No!  You're cruel!  You're taking everything from me!  I have nothing left, and I will not face my family this way!" She became erratic.

"You made your bed, Savannah.  It's over." I said, and just looked at her.  I saw something crazy in her eyes, but shrugged it off and went outside to tell the men my plans, then I heard it, a gunshot.  My men went running inside, and I heard another one.

"What the hell is going on?" I went running.

"Sir!  Stop right there!" One man held me back.

"What happened?"

"Call 911!" One of them yelled.

He looked at me. "She shot him, then turned the gun on herself."

"What?" I asked.

"He's still breathing!" One of the men yelled, and I spotted another on his cell calling 911.

I couldn't process what's happening around me.

"She's dead?" I asked.

"Yes, I'm very sorry, sir."

Jesus Christ, I feel sick.

Everything we believed was a lie once again.  What was written in the diary and what Savannah told us, every bit was a lie to throw us off her trail, but lead us to Will.

I bent over as my body shook.  One of my men walked out with blood all over him, and I threw up.  I just caused that, I made her feel like she had no other choice.  Everything around me was spinning and time played out very strange.  Cop cars, an ambulance, then a helicopter arrived.  Police were asking me questions, and I'm in a daze.

Suddenly it hit me, Will cannot get off the bus here and he is due here very soon.

"Take me to the school," I said to the cop.

"Do what?" He asked.

"Take me to the school, my nephew is about to board a school bus. He can't come home to this!"
