He held me in silence all the way back to the penthouse. Being in his arms makes me feel like everything will be okay. I turned off my phone, since Gray has been calling it constantly, and just let Blaine hold me.

"We can cancel dinner." He said.

"No, it's not every day you get to see your friend, and maybe a night out will do us both some good," I said.

"Okay, and from now on, no more dealing with Cassidy's mess. Leave that to me, okay?" He asked.

"We're in this together, Blaine." He looked down at me and gave me the sweetest smile.

"What?" I asked.

"Something positive came out of something horrific." He pecked my lips as the car stopped, so he got out and offered me his hand.

"Ditto," I said when I stepped out and pecked his lips in return.

We have over an hour before we have to meet Phillip and his fiancé Mia. I have a new dress and a great man at my side, so I decided to push back my negative feelings and try to enjoy the evening.

Blaine insisted I go home tomorrow, and not without his security. I'm sure he already exploded on whatever agency he uses and had these men investigated. I went up to get ready, and he went to arrange for the jet tomorrow. I hate leaving him, but I also agree with him. I need to rest and take care of myself. I'll think about what to do with Gray tomorrow, but for tonight, I need to relax.

My hands always drifts to my stomach these days, and of course there's nothing new. It did make me think of Gray, but I stopped myself from going there for now. If it weren't for Blaine, I would be miserable after hearing that news. When he says everything is going to be okay, I believe him for some reason.

When I got out of the shower, I couldn't help but feel disappointed. I guess I was hoping Blaine would have joined me, but he must be busy making arrangements. I dried my hair and fixed it up for tonight. I wore my makeup a little more daring, then reached for the earrings I brought but paused. Gray gave them to me, so instead of wearing them, I tossed them into the trash can. I don't want anything from him to ever touch me again.

My new dress is mindful of a growing belly. It is sleeveless, long, and a dark shade of purple. It's like a wrap around but only to make room for the baby later on in my pregnancy. I also did myself a favor and bought shoes that are lower-heeled. A silver bracelet and necklace finished the ensemble.

When I went downstairs, Blaine was nowhere in sight, so I got another glass of Karen's amazing lemonade and stood in front of the windows to look down on the city of Seattle. I hate this place now. Nothing good happened here, nothing but fake memories and lies.

I heard a whistle, and I turned to see the most handsome man alive smiling at me. He stood there with his hands in his pocket leaning against the doorframe. His suit it perfectly fitted and his hair is also perfectly styled. He doesn't look like the man I met in his office that day, he has a new spark in his eyes, which confirms what I should already know. That's a man falling in love, and I put that spark in his eyes.

"I thought you would have joined me in the shower." I stepped toward him.

"If I would have done that, we never would have left this penthouse." He pulled me into him.

As I looked up at him, I realized one thing. If it weren't for Lisa, I never would have met this man. He looked down at me and a smile rose up on my face.

"It was worth it," I said.

"What was worth it?" He asked.

"The lies and betrayal. I met you, and I'm going to be a mom."

"You're going to be a wonderful mom." He said.

"My answer will be yes when you ask again in a few months," I said.

My hands are clasped behind his neck, and he leaned down and kissed me. I love his kisses, there are no problems in this world when his lips are on mine.

I paused, and he lifted his head. "We better go before I take advantage of your innocence," I said, and he chuckled.

"For some reason, I believe that could happen." He said, then pecked my lips and guided me out of the Penthouse.

We arrived at the restaurant and he looked over at me. "I doubt they serve chicken nuggets or cheesesteaks here, I hope you have a craving for something more expensive tonight." He said, and I laughed.

"Chicken nuggets and fries sound pretty good right now." I teased, and he gave me a warning look. I can't help but laugh at some of his facial expressions.

We were led to our table, where Phillip was waiting with a drop-dead gorgeous brunette.

"Mia, this is Blaine's girlfriend, Cora. Cora, this is my fiancé Mia."

We shook hands. "It's great to meet you."

"You too, I love the dress." She said.

"Thanks," I said, and Phillip suggested we all sit.

Phillip ordered some kind of whiskey, Mia ordered wine, and Blaine being Blaine, ordered an iced tea and a lemonade for me.

"No drink with dinner?" Phillip asked.

Blaine shook his head. "Cora has an early flight, so we are going to skip the drinks tonight."

Liar! He's just trying to take the focus off me for not drinking.

"I'm sorry you have to leave so soon. I'm sure the station is missing you." He turned to Mia. "Does she look familiar?" He asked.

"Yeah, actually, aren't you from channel 11 news?" She asked.

I nodded. "I was, but I'm based in Cincinnati now. I moved almost two months ago."
