He was ready for lunch, so I gave him strict orders not to take me anywhere that served eggs or seafood. He did a little research on his phone to find the perfect place.  I laughed, and he looked at me with curiosity.

"What's so funny?" He asked.

"I was just thinking back to that day I wanted McDonald's.  You had no idea you were dealing with a crazy, pregnant, hormonal chick." I laughed.

"I knew the crazy part and put the pregnant thing together pretty quick." He chuckled, and I elbowed him as we sat in the car.

"I'm not crazy, you're the one that wants to get hitched already." I teased.  "How did you know I was pregnant for sure?" I asked.

"I had my suspicions when you wouldn't drink wine or coffee.  Then your face almost looked green at McDonald's, I pretty much knew at that point." Suddenly he looked sad.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

"When I saw you the first time, I almost couldn't breathe.  You're the most beautiful woman I have ever seen, then you spoke, and I couldn't wait to see you again." He said.

"That makes you sad?" I asked.

He shrugged.  "Yeah, I didn't see a ring on your finger, but at the same time, I was just learning of Cassidy's death.  The next day you were adorable with that snappy attitude, and I actually had fun, which was strange because of the circumstances.  Then I realized you were pregnant, and my security team said your appointment was to see an Obstetrician." He said.

I smiled.  "Then what happened?"

"I found out you weren't with the father and maybe there was a chance.  Cora, I fell hard very quickly, and I didn't even care you were pregnant.  I'm usually uptight and think through every single decision, but with you, I instantly knew you were the one." He said.

"I'm the one?  How do you know that so quickly?" I asked.

"I knew it the moment I first laid eyes on you.  I thought, 'There she is, she's finally here,' and I knew instantly I would marry you someday."

"You don't care about the people back in New York?  I'm beneath them, Blaine." I said, and his eyes furrowed.

"Don't ever say that again.  You are better than all of them put together. You're beautiful, witty, smart, and everything I need in my life." His face came closer to mine and he kissed me again.

He is so hot and cold.  One minute he's cold and angry, and the next, he's warm and loving.

I pulled back.  "How do you change moods so fast?" I asked.

"I don't, it's only with you. I was so angry today at that house, and if you weren't standing there, I would have torn my uncle to shreds.  Something about you gives me peace. One minute I'm grieving my sister, then you walk in the room, and I feel like all my troubles are gone." He said.

I smiled.  " I feel the same way.  When you held me in this car yesterday as I cried, you made me feel like everything will be okay."

He pecked my lips.  "Aren't you hungry?" He asked.

"Yeah." I let him get back to looking up restaurants, but I still have questions.

"My pregnancy didn't turn you off?" He looked up from his phone.

"Do I seem turned off?" He gave me a smirk, and I blushed.  "I think if it were another woman, I wouldn't be as interested, but you're different.  I knew right away what I wanted, and, I'll admit, I tried to fight it."

I saw that when we were at his office that second day.

"I went to bed that second night, and I couldn't stop thinking about you.  I mean, obviously, I knew there was another man in the picture, but I realized this baby is just another wonderful part of you.  I know this won't be easy, but at the same time, it feels right." He said, then looked down at his phone.

"I want a cheese steak." A craving suddenly hit me.

"Now you tell me?" He asked.

I shrugged.  "Sorry, but there's a great place of fifth."

I gave him a guilty smile.

He sighed.  "Cheese steak it is then."

Thirty minutes later, my mouth is watering as I looked down at the greasy heaven I am about to devour.

"That look is familiar." He teased.

I laughed.

"That's how you looked at me this morning." He laughed.

"Tonight too," I said, and he smiled ear to ear.

"We have to sit through dinner first." He looked annoyed.

"Is it just the three of us?" I asked.

He shook his head.  "Phillip has a fiancé.  Her name is Mia, and I'm sure she'll be joining us." He said.

"Is she high society?" I asked.

"She's a nurse, they met a few years ago and their wedding is coming up soon in Bali." He said.

"So he's marrying a plain girl like me?" I asked.

"You are far from plain, and so is Mia.  You have similar qualities, and I'm sure you'll like her. I think she's great." He said.

We ate, then he called Phillip to let him know we might be a few minutes late.

"Where are we going?  I didn't pack anything very formal." I said, and he gave me a smile.

"I guess we should go get you something while we wait." He replied.

We still have a few hours, so that's exactly what we did. I shopped, while he had a beer at the pub next to the boutique.  He said shopping isn't his thing, which didn't surprise me.  He offered to buy my dress, which is ridiculous.  I ended up spending far too much, but its okay.  It just added it to my already rising debt.  Yes, that's me being sarcastic.

Soon after I finished, we were on our way to meet Blaine's nephew.
