Bad in Love - Part 2!

{A/n - Change in POV - The continuation of Chapter Twenty Three - Bad In Love - Part 1}

Mason POV

After school was dismissed, I decided to check out the address on the note which Lexi wrote for me.

I parked my bike beside the sidewalk of the written address and I removed my helmet while looking at the house.

I placed the helmet on my bike and I grabbed the keys before examining the serene neighborhood as I approached the front porch of the house.

I knocked on the front door.

Soon after, a Lady appeared at the door way and I took a step backwards. She examined me from head to toe with narrowed eyes and her appearance seemed like the older version of Lexi.

"How can I help you?"

"Is Lexi home?" I cleared my throat before speaking and she curiously stared at me.

"Are you my daughter's boyfriend by any chance?" She asked while leaning against the door frame.

"No." I chuckled at her question and she rolled her eyes before she glanced behind her.

"But, you're so young...young and dear lord...but, so naive." She exhaled a breath as she touched my hoodie and I continued to chuckle at her first impression.

She was definitely Lexi Mother...

"Mom?" I suddenly heard a familiar voice shouting from inside the house.

"Lexi...your boyfriend is here to see you." The lady shouted back before looking at me with a genuine smile.

"What?" I heard Lexi yelling and I watched as she appeared at the entrance beside her Mother.

Her eyes widened as soon as she saw me standing on her porch and I motioned my brows at her in silence.

"I didn't catch your name, my love." Her Mother recalled with a smile and Lexi raised an eyebrow at her.

"Mason Summers." I introduced myself while extending a hand and she slowly nodded while she took my hand.

"And you attend the same school as my daughter, right?" She questioned as she continues to shake my hand.

I nodded.

"So, what future occupation are you aiming for?" She released my hand as she crossed her hands underneath her chest and Lexi slightly groaned.

"I'm actually aiming to be a Lawyer or Therapist, one day." I admitted for the first time in my life while I caressed the back of my neck.

My bros have no idea, I wanted to be a Lawyer since I was a kid and I chose to keep it to myself since I'm apart of a gang, ironically.

Lexi stared at me.

"That's great, my love and I hope you achieve your goals." Her Mom smiled at me while nodding with sparks in her eyes.

I nodded in agreement.

"Well, I'll leave you two kids alone and if you need anything I will be in the kitchen...waiting." Her Mother playfully tapped her finger on my nose before walking away from the door.

I smiled, cheeky, a bit unsure of what she really meant to say...

"Mom!" Lexi groaned while watching her Mother walk away.

"Come inside." She said, awkwardly as she diverted her attention to me.

I stepped into the house while spinning my keys around my index and I watched as Lexi closed the door behind me. Then she grabbed my arm and we went upstairs in silence.

After she guided me into a bedroom, I slowly looked around then I sighed due to the different shades of pink surrounding me.

She released my arm as she closed her door and I exhaled a deep breath when I sat in the peach sofa chair beside her bed.

I watched as she sat on her bed.

"Okay...Mason." She broke the silence as she looked at me.

"Why are you here again?" She smiled, nervously, as if she was trying not to be rude.

"What happened to your Father?" I recalled our last conversations.

"Oh...why don't you just forget about it and head on home?" She told me while crossing her legs with tensed shoulders.

"Rude...bad girl." I scolded her with a slight smirk on my face.

She softly chuckled.

"Stubborn." She called me and I touched my jaw while curiously staring at her.

"The feeling is mutual." I agreed with a nod and she smiled at me before sighing.

"Why are you so obsessed with my life, Mason?" She questioned and I rested my hands against the handrests of the sofa chair.

"I like you, Lexi." I confessed while looking at her like an unfinished puzzle.

"You're just telling me what you think I would like to hear." She assumed while looking in a different direction.

"I always back my shit up, if you think I'm just talking." I informed her and she scoffed.

"I don't care, Mason, by the end of the day, you just want attention like other boys." She claims as she looked at me.

"Be my girlfriend, since you don't care." I openly suggested as I stood up from the seat and she stared at me.

"How can I possibly be your girlfriend when I got issues?" She almost laughed as she gestured a hand in my direction.

"By saying yes..." I stated in an obvious manner as I slowly stroll around in her bedroom.

"You clearly just want to fuck me." I heard her chuckling and I slightly smirked while I looked at her.

"So, you don't wanna fuck, huh?" I asked as I slipped my hands into my pockets while turning around to her.

She rolled her eyes.

"That's okay with me, I could just go and masturbate while looking at a photo of you." I shrugged my shoulders while approaching her and she chuckled, softly.

"Sex is the only thing most boys desire from girls these days." She claimed and I held her by the chin as I stood before her.

She looked up at me.

"The generation has always been fucked up, it's only natural." I informed her as I used my other hand to touch her delicate cheek and she stared at me.

"Have you ever been heartbroken, Mason?" She seemed curious as she looked me in the eyes.

I tensed up at her sudden question before I slightly chuckled.

"Heartbroken, huh?"

Lexi POV

"Have you ever been heartbroken, Mason?" I looked him in the eyes and I felt his hand tensing up against my cheek.

"Heartbroken, huh?" He slightly chuckled at my question.

I nodded in response and he exhaled a deep breath before he took a seat beside me on the bed.

"Well..." He started as he ruffled his hair and I quietly stared at him.

"My ex-girlfriend cheated with my older brother." He shrugged.

"What a bitch?" I scoffed at the audacity while I placed my hands on my hips.

"Yeah, but I was young and broke." He playfully chuckled as he looked at me.

I smiled, weakly.

"I had a rough past with my Dad and ex-boyfriend." I confessed as I stretched my feet and he slowly nodded for me to continue.

"I'm listening." He told me and I slide my loose hair behind my ears.

"My ex-boyfriend only wanted me because I was popular and pretty..." I smiled, bitterly.

"One night, he decided to hook up with a girl from school and he denied every single rumor, until there was a leaked video of him kissing her." I exhaled a deep breath as I recalled the disappointing moments inside my head while looking at the floor.

"My Father on the other hand." I looked at Mason and he silently stared at me.

"I didn't actually received any fatherly love when I was a child and my Mom ended up finding out my Dad secretly had a wife on the outside with a child when they both were going to get married." I chuckled to myself before I shook my head in disgrace.

"And he was just taking advantage of my Mom's love since she has always been an independent lady." I said, frankly.

"I'm sorry to hear that, Lexi." I heard Mason saying as he touched my back and I slowly nodded.

"I guess we all have our hard times and unforgettable moments in life." He claimed while I looked at him and we stared at each other in silence.

"Though you were never alone, since you had your Mom...and now, you have me along with your friends." He gently stroke my cheek.

I smiled.

"But, I will be waiting for you to give me a chance to prove to each other, there's actually someone out there who still cares or believes in faith." He declared with a nod as he slowly stood up from the bed.

I softly chuckled at his determination.

"But, I will be going now, so I will see you at school." He slide his hands into the pockets of his hoodie.

"You could bring me home tomorrow after school." I shrugged before I stood up from my bed as well and his eyes glimmered.

"Sure." He nodded with a smile creeping up his face and I smiled while I looked at the door.

We quietly exited my bedroom and we went downstairs before walking towards the front door.

"Aren't you going to stay for dinner?" I heard my Mother's voice and I turned to look at her while she walked into the foyer with an apron in her hands.

"I've some stuff to pick up on my way home and I'm not quite sure when the place is closing." I heard Mason saying as he pointed at the door and I leisurely crossed my hands while looking at my Mom.

"But, I guess I could do it tomorrow before school." Mason told her with a shrug of his shoulders then he looked at me.

I smiled.

"Are you sure, my love?" My Mother asked while she folded the apron in her hands. He nodded in response and we both slowly approached her instead.

She smiled, happily since we hardly ever had or invite a guest over.

I watched as she made it towards the kitchen area and we both entered the dining room.

"Mom, do you need any help?" I asked, loud enough for her to hear before I took a seat at the table.

"No, sweetheart...but, keep the seats warm." I heard her yelling from the kitchen and I looked at Mason. He took a seat at the table while chuckling, softly.

Afterwards, my Mom entered the dining room with the prepared dishes on a tray and we watched as she carefully placed the dishes on the table.

She took a seat at the table after she placed the empty tray on the unoccupied section of the table.

I looked at Mason when I held hands with my Mother at the table and he slowly extended a hand towards me.

I continued to smile as I held his hand as well and my Mom held his other hand before she genuinely graced the dinner while we closed our eyes.

When she was finished with the prayer, we opened our eyes and released hands before digging into the dishes on the table.

We ate in silence until my Mother brought up some stories from her childhood memories and we laughed while dining at the table.

After having dinner, Mason and I brought the utensils to the kitchen while my Mother was cleaning the dining area.

Then I accompanied Mason to the front door and he stretched his arms into the air while looking at me.

"The food was delicious." I watched as he ruffled his hair and I chuckled as we both stood by the door.

"Compliments to my Mom." I told him as I caught my hair in a messy bun. He nodded with a small smile and I opened the front door before I gave him a hug on the porch.

"See you at school, tomorrow." He told me while we continued to hug and I nodded as he slowly caressed my back.

"Safe driving." I encouraged him while we broke the hug. He nodded before he slowly went towards his bike on the side of the street.

I watched as he drove away on the road with my hands crossed underneath my chest then I looked behind me to see my Mother standing at the door.

"He seems like a generous young man and I like his mannerism." I heard her commenting and I slightly chuckled in response before I entered the house.

She closed the door behind me.

Me too, Mom...me too.
