Kane POV

"You guys could at least look more shocked," Aaron mocked as he took a few steps into the room making me roll my eyes.

"You fucking traitor," Heather shouted angrily as the guy only gave her a grin.

"You should have expected it, I never agreed about this whole project. My ancestors put them away for a reason, I will make sure to finish the job they were never able to accomplish, I will fucking destroy them into ashes," Aaron answered calmly while looking at the three of us in the room before frowning. He must have realized that Sky wasn't here.

"You will get rid of us by calling the army that plans to use us? Wasn't that the only thing you feared that would have happened?" Heather asked back.

"Like you're dying to know, I will tell you. The army and I have come to an agreement that will benefit the both of us."

"You got bribed?," I asked while raising an eyebrow.

"Do I look like a man in need of more money?" the French man snapped back. "I give them money, so they can finance their researches and in return, they get rid of you three."

This made everything clearer, but I had never liked this French guy. So, let's get rid of him here and now.

Taking the man by surprise, I sprinted at him before jumping head first and tackling the man into the ground. The man groaned since his head hit the ground hard, but it wasn't like I would wait for him to get his consciousness back, so I went to pull a small dagger out and put it on his throat.

"Earl, please tell me I can kill him?" I whined through my earpiece.

"No, but you can get him into the torture room and be the guest to do anything you want with him," Earl answered making me hum in agreement, but then he added, "Oh, and Drew?"

"Yes Boss?" my partner answered.

"Could you go to France and fetch Aaron sister alive for me?" Earl asked sweetly as if he was asking him to fetch milk in the nearest supermarket. "The plane is already ready for you."

"She only needs to be alive, right?" Drew asked as he was already heading for the door and ripped the collar on his neck off.

"Well, of course, we have to give our guest a gift, don't you agree?"

"Of course. I am leaving this instant."

Just before Drew could get out of sight, Sky added, "You can't get out by the front door, there are men dressed in green there."

"It's the army," Heather clarified clearly a little distressed.

It was understandable, the army had a lot more power than the police since those aren't really backed up by the government itself, but nothing was impossible for us. For now, I may be attracted to men, but Aaron isn't Earl. Plus, he was a dead weight. Leaving him conscious in our situation was our most lethal garbage right now. Without hesitating, I switched my dagger for my hand. I tightened my grip and both Aaron's hands were trying to push me off, but seriously, it was pretty pointless. An army couldn't stop me and a spoiled brat wasn't the one who would change the history. When Aaron was passed out, I tossed him on my shoulder and stood up.

"How should we get out?" Heather asked calmer than a few moments ago.

"Listen carefully guys, there is a rear entrance, but there are soldiers there too. So, Sky is going to create a commotion at the front door. Shelby should arrive soon with reinforcement. But you guys can't stay there. There are planning to get inside this building and they won't stop before they find you two," Earl explained clearly as we could clearly hear the noises from outside.

"Let's move, it shouldn't be long before they get there," Heather added before opening a door at the back of the room.

We silently walked out while carefully listening to Earl's instructions since he could see everything through the cameras. Suddenly, we hear men screaming to take cover. It must have been Sky shooting at them from the tower.

"Do not go out yet, they didn't take the bait," stated Earl irritated.

"Should I get out there and take a few men out?" I asked as I was leaning near the door so I could see if there was someone coming.

"No. We don't know what information Aaron gave them. It is too risky, I can't afford to lose any of you."

"Aw, aren't you sweet," I answered in a sweet tone as I could see everyone rolling their eyes.

"Shut up. This is not the time to fool around. Put this brain of yours to work instead. You guys need to move to the next room and take the stairs."

We obeyed Earl's instructions, but before we could reach our destination, Drew and I hear some footsteps coming our way. So, we stopped in the middle of the stairs as I took out my daggers. As for Drew, he went to hide in the shadows created by the moon. I carefully listened and registered two... No, three pairs of different footsteps.

"Crouch down and don't make a sound," I said to Heather as I handed her a still unconscious Aaron.

I glanced at Drew and saw him looking back at me. We couldn't underestimate them since they were undoubtedly armed with firepower. But what surprised me the most was the fact that they were talking and joking around. For a second, I almost thought they weren't our enemy, but then I heard Earl mention that they were at least five of them making me frown since I was certain that I didn't guess wrong. However, I was going to believe him since he had eyes were I did not.

As soon as I could take a glimpse of their heads near the stairs, I threw my daggers at their skull where the helmet didn't protect them. Damn, this wasn't my thing, if Sky were here, she would have definitely commented on the fact that I may have missed. Hopefully, this wasn't the case and two men out of five were taken down almost immediately. Now, the other three were alerted and on their guards, but this was when things got fun.

Finally, unleashing my long, shiny and lethal daggers out of their cases, I silently walked up the stairs until there were only a few steps separating them from me. Going up front would be easy, but instead, there was a ramp that was separating the second floor from the first. So, I jumped up and grabbed the edge of the ramp. I looked down and saw the three remaining men standing. Without waiting any longer, I let go and fell down and landed straight on one of them. Before I could do anything, I caught a glimpse of Drew that swiftly took off the two remaining men. He was efficient without showing off, which was the complete opposite of what I just did.

We fist bumped each other as Heather walked down the remaining stairs to join us.

"The helicopter is here. Prepare to leave the building," Earl warned a few minutes later.
