"Hi dad." She said, looking up at this man. This man that she had known all her life, but he looked a lot older now; sadder, kinder, wiser. But he was still her dad. Still the same old Phil he has always been.

"Jocelyn." He said again, probably overcome by disbelief. She knew she would be concerned if her only daughter reappeared after almost 11 years.

"It's just Jay now, dad." She said quietly, still not moving from the same spot. It was almost as if her feet were stuck to the ground.

"Jay... I like it." He smiled, shaking his head. "Come on, kiddo, let's get you all warmed up." He said, stepping towards her and wrapping an arm around her.

As they neared Phil's house, Jay suddenly got more nervous. He was going to want to know why she ran... he was going to ask questions. Where did she go, what did she do, why was she back. She could just be honest, yeah, it was her dad. She could just tell him the truth.

Phil opened the door and Jay looked around. This house was tiny, with a fireplace and couch. She walked over and picked up a picture of all of them when they were really young. Tommy was maybe 3 in the picture. Wow. That was a long time ago.

"So... I have to ask. Why are you back?" Phil asked, setting a kettle on the stove. Jay sighed and set her bag on the ground.

"Wilbur and Tubbo sent me letters. I didn't think much of it, you know how Wilbur is. He sent me letters every week since I left so I'm all caught up. But then Techno sent me one. And clearly something was wrong." She looked out the window. "And it's Tommy, who am I to leave my little brother to suffer?"

It was silent for a long time after that. Phil walked over to the couch with hot tea and one of his jumpers. "Feel free to change in the room upstairs. You can take whatever clothes you'll fit in. I have some of every size, you'd be surprised how many people need changes of clothes in this town and this is the nearest place..." he trailed off, looking away. She stood and walked up the stairs, looking around at her fathers room. The bed was made, not a wrinkle in the sheets. That was how he always made it when they were kids. And she and Tommy would jump on it to mess it up. She was sure they drove their dad crazy, but he always just laughed and ran around with them.

She quickly changed her top, laying her now dirtied clothes on a chair in the corner of the room. She glanced in the closet and found a pair of sweatpants that would fit her, and she slipped those on. She took a moment to breathe, glancing around the room. On the bedside table was a picture frame. Jay picked it up. It looked like a family photo, a fairly recent one. But Wilbur was still alive in it. Tommy looked all grown up, she smiled. She placed the picture back down gently and started down the stairs.

She could hear Phil talking from downstairs. "Dream, listen, I don't know who she is. She just showed up and she looked freezing. Of course I brought her inside." She peeked around the corner. Her dad was standing now, his cup of tea still in his hand. But standing across from him was someone. He was tall, not quite as tall as Phil, and he had on a green hoodie with black jeans. It was the same person she saw walking earlier. He turned to face the stairs as he heard her step down and covering his face was a white mask with a smiley face drawn on. It was a lot creepier close up.

"Well hello. Who are you?" He asked, almost menacingly as he took a step forward. Jay looked to Phil who shook his head slightly.

"I'm Jay." She smiled and outstretched a hand. Being treated like a child came in handy when she had to trick people "I was just traveling. I used to live in a town pretty far from here, but they didn't treat me well, so I left. Just started walking in a direction. Didn't find much until I came here. I stumbled across Phil, was it? He invited me in."

"It's very nice to meet you, Jay. I'm Dream. Have a nice stay while you're in L'manburg, and the Dream SMP."

"Thank you." She smiled.

"Oh, and if you hear anything about a Tommy Innit, don't worry about it. He's long gone." Dream laughed as he left, glancing at Phil one last time. He had a stark frown on his face, gripping the mug like it was his lifeline.

"Dad..." Jay trailed off, moving towards him. She took the mug out of his hands and hugged him tightly. He didn't move for a moment, but then she could fell him wrap his arms around her and shake, seemingly crying into her shoulder.

"You don't know how much this, you being here, means to me." He whispered. "I just can't believe how much you've grown." He pulled away and rested a hand on her face. "You're not my little girl anymore."

"I'll always be your little girl."
