Brett and Eddy were soaked by the time they arrived at the dormitory.

"I'm not letting you sleep alone tonight," Brett took shivering Eddy up to his room.

The rain was getting heavier. Brett rummaged through his closet and pulled out some dry clothes that hopefully fit Eddy.

"You can go wash and change in my bathroom. I'll use the public bath in the corridor," Brett handed the clothes to Eddy, who was still quiet.

Eddy went into the bathroom and locked the door. He turned on the shower, letting the hot water flow. He stood under the showerhead, letting the hot water rain on him. Eddy sighed. The warmth calmed him down after the emotional hurricane.

When Eddy came out of the bathroom after a long shower, Brett was already sitting on the bed with clean clothes.

"Are you alright now?" Brett asked, drying off his wet hair with a towel.

"Yeah," Eddy sat next to Brett on a soft bed.

Eddy's left cheek, where Brett has slapped him, was a little swollen. Eddy cringed in pain when Brett carefully touched it.

"You hit me too damn hard," Eddy winced.

"Serves you right," Brett said sternly. However, feeling a little guilty, Brett stood up to bring a clean cloth soaked in cold water. Brett put the handkerchief gingerly on Eddy's cheek.

They were just sitting there quietly, Brett pressing the cold fabric on Eddy's face. Both of them didn't dare to look at each other in the eyes. The thunder rumbled outside.

Finally, it was Eddy who broke the silence.

"Are you still mad at me?" Eddy asked.

Brett shook his head.

"I was ... worried," Brett sighed.

"...I'm sorry," Eddy murmured.

Brett gently kissed Eddy on the lips. Eddy knew his apology was accepted.

"It's hard to keep my anger with you, peasant," Brett chuckled.

Looking at Brett smiling, Eddy realized how much he has been missing Brett. Eddy leaned forward to kiss Brett once more. He was just about to move down to Brett's collarbone when Brett reached out to unbutton Eddy's shirt. Eddy, surprised, recoiled back. An awkward silence passed. Brett sat up, confused.

"What's the matter?"

"I..." Eddy hesitated, searching for words.

"I...It's...not pretty," Eddy stuttered, his face becoming red.

Brett knelt slowly beside Eddy. Eddy's face was burning up.

"You're not going to like it. It's..."

Brett enclosed Eddy's mouth with his before he finished his sentence. He didn't need to hear more. Brett began to slowly unbutton Eddy's shirt. Eddy hesitated every time a button opened up to reveal him.

As the shirt came off, Eddy closed his eyes with shame.

Brett traced Eddy's skin with his finger. His eyes followed the path, landing upon scars upon scars.

Silence followed.

"Do they hurt?" Brett asked softly.

Eddy shook his head, no.

Brett gently pressed his lips upon the old marks. Eddy closed his eyes and sighed.

"You need to tell me tomorrow who did this to you, Eddy," Brett muttered dreamily.

"Why? Are you going to kick their ass?" Eddy chuckled.

"Nah, better," Brett replied with this eyes closed. "I'm going to tell them that you're mine."

And everyone in Handorr knows, no one dares touch the Yang family property without paying a price.
