Theo's POV:
I sped as fast as I possibly could to the hospital. If I had known she was allergic to cinnamon, none of this would've happened.

I blame myself truly and it really shows I don't know everything about Mya no matter how much I wanted to.

"How you doing there, gorgeous?" I asked trying to make her feel a little better.

"Wast fing I need wight now is you wying oo me." She glared over at me. (Last thing I need right now is you lying to me.)

Her face was a little puffy but I could still notice the extreme amounts of sass that help emphasize the scary look she giving me at the moment.

"I'm sorry." I said quickly as I turned to the windshield again.

I wasn't sorry...why should I be sorry for telling the truth??

"Do you need anything? Is there anything I can do?"

"Yeah. Make my wips, face, and mouf feel human again. Pwease and fank oo." She said with an extreme amount of sassy for a person whose mouth looked near exploding.  (Yeah. Make my lips, face, and mouth feel human again. Please and thank you.)

"Okay we're almost to the hospital, so you'll have to wait on that." I replied sarcastically.

"Do not get sarcastic wiff me Feo. Not today of all days. You did this to me." She began to sniffle.

"Are you....crying?" I asked warily.

"What?! No!! My nose is running, you jerk!" She shouted staring out the window.

"Okay sorry. I didn't mean to offend you. Just wanted to do a little check up." I kept my eyes on the road trying my best not to upset her anymore.

A few silent moments passed before she tried to talked with puffy lips again.

"I'm sowy. I am just on edge. I don't mean to be itchy...itchy...itchy...damn it I can't even say itchy!" She whined while looking ip to the ceiling of the car.

"It's alright, baby. I understand what you mean. You're not being 'itchy.' I messed up a simple breakfast and I'm extremely sorry. I'm getting you to the hospital as fast as I can. Just relax until we get there, okay?" I asked while I took my right hand off the steering wheel and brushed it across her cheek.

She sighed. "-ut I-"

"Uh-uh. Just lay down. We'll be there soon." I said taking my hand off her face before setting my arm on the center console.

For being as stubborn as she is I was surprised when she listened and leaned her seat back. From what I heard beside me it sounded like it took her forever to get comfy on the leather seat before finding one position to stay in.

I was so deep in concentration that I almost didn't notice her hand slipping into mine.

"I wove oo." I heard her whisper making a small grin take over my lips.

"I love oo too." I brought her beginning-to-puff hand up to my lips.

She smiled as big as she could with her swollen mouth. And it was such a cute sight that I continued to admire her for too long.

"-op aring!" (Stop staring!) She yelled at me resulting in me chuckling. "Why ah oo -aughing?!" (Why are you laughing?!)

Her speech was getting worse by the second and Amaya, being the grammar police she is, it was ironically funny to hear her messing up such simple words.

"I'm sorry, babe. You having funny speech is just a little humorous. And it's honestly kind of cute." I admitted turning my eyes back to the road.

She huffed annoyed and leaned her head against the cold window.

When we finally got to the hospital I rushed Amaya inside as quickly as I possibly could. I immediately took her to the front desk and demanded medical attention.

"Hey. This is my girlfriend and she's having an allergic reaction, and needs medical attention...stat!"

"You'll have to wait your turn. Take this clipboard and please sit down." She droned on as if she'd said it a million times today.

I'm sure she had because she didn't even bother to look up. Guess who's getting a bad review on Yelp!

"Did you not just hear me?! She's having an allergic reaction!!" I said the last two words slowly trying to help her understand.

I guess not everyone has common sense or the ability to look up, so I considered that and tried my absolute hardest to keep my cool.

"You'll have to wait your turn. Take this clipboard and please sit down." She repeated.

I took a step back and let out a dry chuckle. I was about to rain absolute hell on her, but someone grabbed my arm.

"Feo. Don't -et her get to oo." (Theo. Don't let her get to you.)

I watched her swollen but still gorgeous face and immediately calmed down. No way in hell I was just going to sit down, but I would keep calm if it's what Mya wanted.

"Please, mam. We need to see the doctor quickly. She's only getting worse." I tried to inform her.

"You'll have to wait your turn. Take this clipboar..."
I guess my constant bugging worked because she finally looked up from her paperwork and her breath caught in her throat.

She cleared her throat and graced her face with a pleasant smile. "Hello."

"Hi." I said becoming more annoyed.

"What can I do for you?" She asked as she fluffed her hair up to frame her face.

She was pretty, but didn't hold a candle to Amaya's beauty.

"Okay, just know I'm not flirting with her. I would never. I'm trying to save your life here, princess, and it seems that I have to do this in order to do so." I whispered in Mya's ear.

She immediately nodded telling me to proceed in a hurried manner.

"So I need help. She's having an allergic reaction and we need a doctor pronto." I smoothly said as a fake smirk took over my features. It all felt so wrong, especially with Mya right next to me.

"I will do just that." She creepily attempted to run a finger over my hand that was resting on the counter. But just as she was about to lay her dragon claw on me I flung my hand up to my hair pretending to fix it.

She looked disappointed that she missed her opportunity (we all know she never had one) as she paged some doctors.

They fled out of doors and surrounded us before they led us to a room.

"My girlfriend and I thank you." I shouted to the lady at the front desk whose face fell about ten stories.

If that wasn't a satisfying feeling then I don't know what is.

"Okay. I need you to fill all this out." A nurse said as she handed me the clipboard. "Anything you know will help us out. We're gonna give her a shot of epinephrine and she should be fine, but just in case it's good to have this filled out and ready."

I nodded my head in understanding and began to fill it out. They gave her the shot and it didn't take long for her to get better.

She was okay overall except her lips remained a little puffy. The doctors also informed us that it was protocol for people with allergies to remain in the hospital for four hours to make sure no further problems came to Amaya.

I didn't mind the wait. As long as she was okay.

Once all the doctors left and we had our privacy I immediately got up and was by her side.

"I'm so sorry, baby." I pulled her into a hug and kissed her head.

"It's okay. I'm fine. You had no idea." I heard her muffled voice say into my chest.

I pulled her back and held her small chin in my hands. "I'm thankful you're okay. You had me so worried. If anything would have happened to you I don't know what I'd do. Especially since it would've been my fault."

I turned away from her with nothing but anger directed at myself. I endangered Amaya. Her life. What would this world be without her?

Empty? Lonely? Depressing?

Yes. All three and then some.

I felt her hands clasp around my wrists and pull them down. Her actions caused me to look to her and see a easy smile resting on her lips.

"I forgive you. Now forgive yourself. It was a mistake, Theo." She said before wrapping her hands around my head and pulling me down in a kiss.

The kiss surprised me, but I was definitely not going to reject it. Mya's kisses were equivalent to heaven and there was no way I'd give up even one.

So I was a little shaken when she suddenly shoved me back with wide eyes.

"Amaya? What?! What's the matter?? Do you need me to get a doctor?" I asked worried checking over her face to make sure it wasn't beginning to swell again.

"No, you idiot! The game!! You have a game today!!" She shouted making my worries melt away.

"I'll skip it. I need to be here with you." I shrugged.

"What?! No!! Get your ass out of here! You're on that team, and there's no way in hell I am going to let you let all your hard work go to waste over something so stupid! Are you crazy?!" She yelled at me.

"I'm not leaving you, Mya." I crossed my arms and leaned my lower back against the counter that sat across from her.

It was still morning. I had plenty of time.

"Ugh!! Why are you so frustrating?" She complained.

"I think it's love." I batted my eyelashes like a little girl.

"You're such an ass." She chuckled.

"That I am." I admitted with a proud grin.

Her phone immediately came to life with a bland ringtone. I watched as her face cutely became confused with her eyebrows scrunched together as she looked at the screen.

"It's Sam."

"Answer it. He probably wants to know where you're at." I told her.

We were supposed to meet him about fifteen minutes ago, but hey. I can't say he didn't deserve having to wait around after all he'd done.

"Hello?" Amaya asked as she pressed the phone to her ear before putting it on speaker.

"Hey, Amaya. It's Sam. We were supposed to meet up and I don't see you anywhere. Did you forget?"

"No. Well you see a little mishap happened." She explained.

"Oh. That's too bad. Maybe we can reschedule." The snake offered.

"Yeah maybe-"

I cut Mya's conversation with him short and picked up the phone and took off speaker phone.

"No. You little weasel. This is happening today. I don't what you have to go through to get here, but you have ten minutes to get here." I told him where we were and what room.

"And what will happen if I don't?" He questioned in a smart way.

"You don't want to know. Get here. Now." I growled in my most intimidating voice and hung up.

"Did you have to use the Batman voice?" I heard Mya chuckle bringing up my mood.

"Yes. Yes I did." I said with a smile as I planted a kiss on her cheek while she laughed heartily.

It was nine minutes and thirty seconds on the dot when Sam came bursting through the door out of breath.

"Glad you could make it." I said smirking as I watched him with his hands on his knees as he was trying to catch his breath.

"Like to see you try driving all the way across town and running to find this room in such a short amount of time!" He finally stood up straight and I crossed my arms before he saw me.

His eyes went from Amaya and straight to me. I chuckled as he audibly gulped. "You're the guy from the phone? Theo Thompson?!"

"Oh, Sammy boy, that's the name. Don't wear it out."

"I...I just. I don't know.."

"Save it. Just do what you came here to do." I glared at him before referring to Mya.

She surprisingly hadn't said a single word the whole time since Sam had arrived.

"You okay?" I whispered in her ear and all she did was give a simple smile and a nod.

"Okay. Sam. Hit it!" I said as I pointed to him.

"Fine." Sam said as he rolled his eyes before looking at me and nervously smiling before clearing his throat. He turned to Mya and began.

"Okay, Amaya. I'd like to start off by saying I'm sorry for everything that I did. I'm sorry for making you go to that party. I'm sorry for the brownies and ditching you. I'm really sorry." Sam admitted.

I cleared my throat. He knew he was missing an important piece of information.

He heard me and scratched the back of his neck in anxiousness while staring at the ground.

"Well you see I kind of asked you out at the same time while seeing someone else." He sighed and looked up to her.

She looked disappointed but honestly didn't look like she minded. I watched as she nodded for him to go on.

"It's just I'm going through a lot right now." He tried to make up for his actions and it made me irritated.

"Yeah right. Nothing would make up for what he did. Not just to Amaya but to the other girl too. You're such a piece of shit." I told him angrily.

Amaya glared at me.

"What? You know it's true." I shrugged.

"What he did wasn't okay, but let's at least hear him out." Mya offered.

"Fine. Get to talking." I rolled my eyes to him.

Amaya always got her way somehow. I think it was her puppy dog eyes she used when she really wanted something or maybe just the way she batted her eyelashes.

"Well you see I...um...I'm.."

"Spit it out!" I said and Amaya nudged me telling me to knock it off.

"I'm gay." He told.

Wow. That wasn't what I was expecting.

"What does that have to do with the way you treated the girls?" I questioned with a quirked eyebrow.

"It doesn't make up for it, but really I was seeing them to help convince myself I wasn't gay. I come from a really religious family where they're extremely homophobic and no one knows just yet. I'm starting down my own path, and I'll tell them when I'm good and ready, but if they aren't then I'll just have to figure things out. But I've recently started dating a new guy, and I've never been happier."

Amaya jumped off her bed and went to hug him. What was she doing?

"I'm happy for you." She grinned.

"Thank you." He smiled as he hugged her back. "It means a lot to me."

After a minute they pulled apart before Amaya sat back on the bed.

"I really am sorry, Amaya. I know I was an ass and don't deserve your forgiveness." He said.

"You're right." I muttered.

Amaya squinted at me in a shut-up sort of way, but I shrugged knowing I was right.

"No, Sam. I forgive you." She offered him a smile. "I really wish you happiness in your relationship."

They talked for awhile longer before Sam had to go for a date.

"Why are you such a good person?" I asked as I sat behind her on her bed.

"I'm not. I just like to do the right thing." She smiled as she leaned against my chest.

I wrapped my arms around her waist and kissed the top of her hair.

How did I get so lucky?
