After the video ended, I stared at her shocked while she smirked.

I can see myself and Leo running out of the house and going towards the woods and then Mia comes down with weapons of her own and starts defending herself followed by Dante and some other tall guy. All three of them start fighting and that's when Mia is shot above her chest somewhere. I see all the men who came to shoot quickly disperse out of the cabin as soon as Dante screams while the guy is frozen on his spot.

Wait...does that mean...?

"Yes. It was a planned shoot for Mia. I wanted her dead. The cameras were fitted on my men so I can monitor everything." Serena said now looking at the screen which has gone blank.

"Wh...it means...you..."

"Yes. I planned it Valentina." She said unapologetically.

"I told you. Family over anything." She stated glaring at the screen now.

"But...she was family." I whispered too shook to move.

"She was the enemy. Not family. Do you even know what she did?" She laughed humorlessly.

I looked at her scared as my eyes took her cold form. She sat there back straight with the same elegant posture while her eyes glared at the screen where Mia was lying down.

"I would have let her go Valentina. I didnt want to have any connection with her so I wouldn't have done anything when she ran away like a coward but then she started giving our mafia's secret information to the Russians! Leo and Luciano were too busy finding her that they didn't really pay attention that someone was stealing our data and money." She said and looked at me.

"But it could've been anyone Serena." I reasoned.

"I thought so too and that is why I made my people do all the research to find out who is doing it and that's when it stuck me. All these secret data info is only known and can be accessed by our family members. Only one of us can do that. My men finally reached the place from where we got signals during one of the stealing. It was from the same cabin and after looking into it...it was Mia." She scoffed.

"Who would've thought the daughter I raised would turn out to be like this... A Traitor. It would've been fine if she just ran away with her lover and kept her mouth shut about our data. Don't you think we deserved that much loyalty from her? " She spoke as a tear slid down her cheeks making my hand instantly hold hers in a reassuring way.

"If I didn't do what I did at that time...our family wouldn't have been alive today. The Russians would've known everything about us and who knows what would've happened." She whispered as tears started flowing freely now while she shook a bit.

"I'm so sorry..." I whispered moving closer to hug her.

She hugged me back crying loudly making my chest constrict in feeling the unknown pain she must have felt to kill her own daughter to save other family members.

After a few minutes, she composed herself and sat straight yet again and looked at me.

"This is the reason why we need to win this war Valentina. If She is alive, she must have told everything to them or not but there is this threat always. We can't let this extend till your children. I won't be able to see my grandchildren in this type of war." She said softly.

"I know its risky but we do not have any other plans right now. I hope you'll make the right decision. " She smiled and stood up taking the pen drive out and deleting any trace of the video from the laptop.

"Serena? Can you send Luciano up here please?" I asked making her nod as she walked out of the office closing the door behind her.

What the hell am I going to do now? This mother and son duo is so stubborn and exhausting.

I always felt that this war thing is really stupid and it just goes on proving itself. Like what is the point of killing people? For more power?

"Did you tell Mom your decision?" He asked.

"I think I've a plan. We will win this war safely." I smiled looking into his eyes.

"What is it?" He asked eager to know making me smirk.

"Make me cum first." I stated making him shake his head in amusement and disbelief.
