Fear.

I think its normal to fear something, we are humans after all but it gets scarier when you don't even know what you should fear.

The fear of unknown.

Im scared for myself and my people but what am I scared of ? I have no idea.

I don't know what or who we are against as I have never met them at all and don't know them much. I dont know what the near future will bring for us but one thing is for sure...the war. It's inevitable no matter what we do.

And as I stand in front of the love of my life who is staring at me with emotionless eyes, one thing is clear.
This journey till the war is not going to be easy for me.

"Come here." He said motioning with his hand to stand near him. I move towards him slowly as much as my body allows because of cuts and stitches.

"What are you planning to do Luciano?" I asked looking around the empty basement and finally setting my eyes on his face.

Ever since we came back yesterday, he has been acting so weirdly not to forget he didn't let me take pain killers last night which is why its harder for me to walk today due to the pain and now he is not letting anyone enter the basement where he has brought me.

I have slight idea what he wants to do but the somewhat scared face of Angelo, Luca and Lorenzo when he brought me here made me confused.

Nobody else was there when he brought me here so I don't think anybody else knows.

"You call yourself my Queen..." He started in a serious tone making me nod my head.

That's because I'm a Queen!

"A king and a Queen are equals. I'm not the king who hides his Queen when there is any danger to protect her but I'm the king who wants his Queen to be by his side when there is a war. Together." He said as his hand came to stroke my cheek softly and he kissed my forehead.

"I know it Luciano and do you think I'll agree with hiding while you all fight?" I replied holding his hand.

I'm a fighter and I'll always fight no matter what.

"But that's the thing my love...these people...they want you...so they won't go easy on you and I cannot let anything happen to you." He said further staring into my eyes.

"I..."

"Let me complete." He interrupted me and went on further,"I know you are upset with me because I didnt let you take medicine for your wounds but there is a reason for why I did that."

"I can't watch you like this but when it comes to your life, I have to do this. To protect you. To make you capable of protecting yourself but I need to ask you a question before we do anything."

He is not thinking about asking me to marry him.

Right?

He looked at me from head to toe as he inspected my injuries and then cleared his throat and held my hands.

"When I was fourteen, I started training to become what I am today and after so long I've found you, my Queen. And I'm really proud to have you as my woman so Valentina, Will you let me train you for this war even though it might hurt you?" He asked looking calm and composed.

Guess I was wrong about him proposing.

Thankfully.

This is so familiar to what Angelo and Lorenzo told me the day I shot for the first time. I remember Lorenzo's words clearly.

"Why am I not provided with the ear and eye protection like the others used when I entered?" I questioned putting the gun down.

"You don't have time." Angelo muttered from my left side in a serious tone staring straight ahead at the targets.

I know.

"And there will be no protection in the real life scenario. Luciano is really sweet with you and all but when it comes to his Queen...Trust me, he won't go easy on you. He will train you just the way he did. He wont let you sit around and put you somewhere safe. He would want his Queen to fight and protect everyone with him." Lorenzo said in a firm tone showing how serious both of them are.

Oh, My God.

He wants me to train just the way he did and he wants me to feel pain. He wants to train me to tolerate as much pain as I can because its a war and somehow those people want me. If I somehow end up in a situation, I should be able to handle it.

I don't even have much time so its going to be harder. He will push me to train harder and that is why he is asking for my permission.

Fuck me now.

But I'm already a trained fighter. I've been fighting since last three years so why would I need training?

"My love?" He asked bringing me back from my thoughts.

"Ahem...Yes but I'm already a trained fighter Luciano. Did you forget the time when I defeated you?" I asked with a small smirk making him shake his head in amusement.

Well good to know he hasn't lost his sense of humor in all this. Cold Luciano is not really my favorite part of him.

"Yes I agree that you defeated me but that was a professional fight. We had rules there but here? There are no rules. The only goal here will be to kill the opponent. Nobody's going to play fair and we're going to be attacked from all sides. You've always fought with one person at a time but here there will be multiple people trying to kill you. Now you tell me love...are you trained for that? Are you trained to Kill?" He smiled knowingly as he saw my expressions.

Thats right. I can't take that many people at the same time. I have only trained to focus on one target.

And killing someone? Not at all.

"Wait...is that why you made that doctor shift here? Because you're going hurt me?" I asked making him frown.

"I'm not going to hurt you. I'm just going to prepare you and if you don't pay attention then you might get hurt." He stated calmly.

"What about my friends?"

"Angelo, Luca and Lorenzo will train them and don't worry about them. I'll make sure they'll be situated somewhere where they will be in less danger." He said making me sigh in relief.

Only Vanessa is trained to fight like me. All the others know fighting but they're not trained like us.

"Okay. So when are we starting?" I gulped slightly in nervousness.

"After we're done planning." Serena's voice is sharp like her look as we turn to her.

"Mom...I need to start now. " Luciano replied.

"I didn't say anything when you decided to train her in this condition of hers so do not irritate me anymore and get your ass  in the sitting room in ten minutes." She snapped looking at my injuries briefly.

Moms will be Moms. This is funny though.

"She needs it!"

"You can train her after two goddamn hours!"

Luciano sighed angrily and defeated making me chuckle. He glared at me while Serena smiled.

"Are you coming with me darling or with this idiot boyfriend of yours?"

"We'll be there in a minute." I smiled back as she walked out of the basement.

Ive never seen Luciano listening to anyone other than Serena.

"What's so funny Miss Martinez?" He glared playfully pulling me towards him.

"I love the way she is with you." I laughed loudly.

"You're lucky I listen to everything she says or you would've been crying right now on the floor." He smirked placing his lips on mine.

"I wouldn't mind crying on the floor if you're on top of me." I smirked back as he laughed.

"Why are there so many maps here and of what place?" Angelo thought out loud and we all nodded looking at Serena and Leo.

We were all gathered in the living room and there were maps stuck on the board of some sort. I literally feel like I'm on some sort of a mission which is true to some degree.

"These maps are of the Russian mafia's headquarters." Leo answered looking at all of us.

"Okay...why?" Luca asked.

"For the war of course. What type of a question is that!" Leo rolled his eyes.

"He is right Dad. Why are we looking at their headquarters map anyway? We are not going there." Luciano said.

"And why are we not going there son?" Leo asked smiling as Luciano raised an eyebrow suspiciously and within seconds his eyes widened.

What happened now?

"We are not attacking!" He exclaimed loudly making us all surprised.

What the actual fuck!?

Attacking?

"Ofcourse we are." Serena smiled like a goddess and sat in one of the chairs.

"I'm damn sure this is Mom's idea as it sounds crazy and suicidal!" Lorenzo muttered making me chuckle despite the tension in the room.

Everyone looked weirded out as Luciano and Serena had a stare down.

"Hello people!" We all turned back to see Ivan standing by the door looking amused.

"My Ivy!" I grinned but stayed seated as I cant run right now anyway.

He came and kissed me on the cheek and sat beside me.

"How are you?" He asked wrapping an arm around my shoulder.

"Fantastic obviously!" I grinned as he looked at all the beautiful bandages on my body.

I'm just wearing shorts and a tank top as I dont want any cloth touching my wounds so I'm wearing as less as I can. It hurts otherwise.

"What happened to you brother?" Ivan asked looking at Luciano on my right with a smirk.

"Well firstly, don't kiss my girlfriend. Secondly, stop touching her and thirdly, our parents have gone mad." Luciano stated running a hand through his hair.

That looks so sexy.

How I wish this war thing wasn't going on and we would get plenty of time to be in bed.

Well we don't even need bed to do that. Anywhere is fine with me.

Why does this happen to me!?

I want him so bad...

"This is not the time my love." Luciano smiled amused making my eyes wide.

Did I say that out loud?

"I can make out your look." He whispered smirking.

"Stop flirting in front of me, it's gross and she didn't mind when I touched her bro. Don't be so jealous." Ivan teased him making Luciano roll his eyes in annoyance.

"You're equally annoying." Luciano muttered.

"What happened though before I came?" Ivan asked out loud.

"Well Mom and Dad wants to attack the russian headquarters." Angelo said.

"We cannot attack them. I won't allow that. Its too dangerous and I can't risk my people like that. We will wait for them to strike and we will handle it. We will be prepared for that and we will be in control but by attacking? No." Luciano concluded leaving no room for arguments making Serena chuckle mysteriously.

This is so much like a movie. She looks like Maleficent. Beautiful and magnificent. A true Queen. I love Maleficent though. She is an amazing character and I have watched the movie so many times.

"So let's plan how we will attack. " She stood up and stared at us.

"Mom this is getting too much. You can't do this. Why do you want to attack anyway!?" Luciano groaned and I can feel he is getting mad slowly.

"Well its a goddamn war! I don't want them to come here and spoil this beautiful place with all of us fighting and also I don't wanna wait for them. Leo and I have a vacation planned after fifteen days!" She retorted making us all shocked.

After a few seconds everyone started laughing except Luciano who had his head between his hands mad making her glare at us.

"That's so fucking ridiculous!" Luciano snapped.

"No its not. If they come here...this place will be destroyed. Do you know how expensive all of this is? We are saving this place and we are saving time. Remember how you used to be so worried for your exams and wished it to be postponed? But then when it happened you used to get happy that its over. Its the same." Serena explained shrugging.

Oh, my god.

"Mom he is right. This is not good." Ivan said slowly.

"Exactly! You're fifty something Mom...You're not supposed to think like this. " Angelo shook his head.

"She is acting like a teenager." Lorenzo joked.

This made everyone chuckle. I cant believe they're making fun of her like that. Its so much like our family. We are really close and we can say whatever we want. There are no age things that we should not speak certain things just because they're our parents.

"Shut the fuck up all of you!" She spat annoyed.

"I'm the Mafia king!" Luciano protested.

"Who came out from my fucking uterus!" Serena retorted making me bite my lips so I don't laugh yet again.

"She is right. Attacking would be better everyone. It would be a surprise to them and they wont be prepared either so that would be an advantage for us." Leo said looking at Luciano and nodded slightly.

"Its alright Luciano...both of them must have taken this decision after a lot of thought I'm sure. Let it be. We will be fine. They're in this since before you were born. Trust them." I whispered holding his hand in mine and giving it a squeeze.

He looked into my eyes making me give a slight nod of reassurance and he sighed.

"Alright." He said making Serena smile gratefully at us both.

"Amazing! So this one is the ground floor plan where there is high number of security guards. Most of them surround the whole place so its going to be hard to crack inside."

"How are we going to get inside then?" Cody asked.

"With Valentina's help of course." Serena smirked.

And this is how I'm going to die people.
