Life is so unpredictable. Isn't it?

It feels like just yesterday when I texted Luciano for the first time which was an embarrassment of the year and now we are fighting a damn war.

What was I thinking when I sent him that? I was so childish and I still am and I hope I always have this little kid in me alive.

We walk towards Luciano's house with my hand tightly secured in Luciano's hands. Serena and Leo walk ahead of us silently.

We haven't spoken a single word after we left Dante's house as Serena and Leo came in different car but even Luciano and I haven't talked at all. It all feels so unreal.

My mind just keeps on repeating the same thing over and over.

War.

I've been silent even when Angelo and Luca gave me a bone crushing hug and started speaking nonstop about how all of them were so worried which even ended up with Angelo shedding a few tears.

I love those idiots though.

"Val!!!" I jerk out of my thoughts and all of a sudden I'm surrounded by a number of bodies in yet another hug.

I'm going to die if these people don't leave me soon.

"Guys...I...I'm okay..." I mutter smiling a bit and all of them sigh leaving me slightly but still surrounding me.

"You can clearly see that She is alive so now get a move on. We need a plan. Get inside." Serena's authoritative tone makes everyone move to the drawing room quickly without another word.

Damn! That woman makes me jealous.

Everyone settled down without saying a word and kept looking at each other with raised brows waiting for someone to break the silence.

Well I think I should tell them what happened.

"Before we...plan anything, I would like to let you all know what happened and what might happen." I spoke slowly as I felt Luciano giving my hand a reassuring squeeze.

"Go on sweetie." Serena smiles softly as I return the gesture and clear my throat.

"I was at Dante's place..." I started but Of course I didn't get to speak any further.

"WHAT THE FUCK!?"

"HOW? WHY? "

"HE KIDNAPPED YOU!?"

"DID HE TOUCH YOU!?"

"THAT ASSHOLE IS GOING TO DIE"

They started yelling and I was too tired to even stop them so I just sat there staring blankly at them as they yelled profanities after profanities and basically the hall looked like chaos in hell.

"STOP SPEAKING RIGHT THIS INSTANT AND LET HER SPEAK." Luciano's voice boomed around the room making everyone stop speaking at once.

Wow.

I turn to look at him to see him glaring coldly at everyone in the room who was shouting seconds ago.

"He kidnapped her and you expect us to be just okay with it!?" Cody spat angrily looking at Luciano who didn't even blink as he was busy glaring.

"You're not the only one worried about her so just stop reacting without thinking and listen to what she has to say." Luciano gritted hia teeth as his hand tightened around mine.

"Guys please...not right now. Lets listen to her first." Emma said looking worried as Cody sank back into his seat.

"Okay. Now let me complete speaking before you all decide to speak." I smile softly at them and tell them everything.

Throughout my five minutes speech, their expressions changed so many times amusing me.

After I completed speaking, I leaned back against Luciano as he wrapped his arm around me protectively while everyone else sat there too shocked to speak a word.

"I want Pizza." I whispered to Luciano who shook his head amused and took his phone out.

"Pepperoni." I answered as he raised a brow to ask which pizza do I want.

"What about them? I'm sure no one has eaten anything. I know everyone's preference but not your friends'" He whispered back.

"Hawaiian for Cody and Nia. Pepperoni for Eric and me. Vanessa loves margherita and Emma likes mac and cheese pizza." I told him making him nod.

He types quickly while I look at them to find all of them in deep thoughts. Emma looks scared while everyone else are doing good I guess considering they just got to know about the upcoming war.

I'm sorry but I don't think I'm going to get used to that word. It's just too weird. I still think fight is a better word.

"Are you all back to normal now?" Leo asked amused as they nod.

"Before we plan anything, I'm giving you a choice." Serena said looking at each and everyone of them as they looked at her confused so she continued.

"This war is going to be bad. Anyone can die in this. We have no control over that so I'm giving you an option, a choice to not be a part of this and risk your lives. If you choose to be a part of it then I would like you to know right now that you'll have to fight and you can die. So choose wisely." Serena concluded looking at all of my friends.

"Seriously Mom?! You're giving us a choice?" Lorenzo exclaimed surprised making Serena give a one sided smile.

"I'm giving them a choice not you. You're a part of the mafia so you don't have a choice Enzo nor does any of your brothers. You always fight for your family. Remember?" She smiles softly at the end making lorenzo nod with a smile making me feel warm.

All of this is happening because of me and they're fighting for me. I just don't know how to express my happiness and how thankful I am for these people.

"Even Valentina does not have an option anymore other than fighting because though not officially, she is a part of the mafia." Serena said looking directly at me as I nodded in understanding.

I knew what I was getting myself into and I'm ready for it if it means I get to stay with the love of my life for as long as I live.

"So what are your choices?" Serena asked.

Honestly, I don't know what to think about this. My friends do have a option to opt out of this and to not put their lives on risk for me and I seriously think they should choose themselves.

Sometimes, you have to choose yourself even though you love the person so much. Its about their lives, I cant let them do that.

"Guys!" I said making them all turn to me.

"Dont start Val. We all know what you're going to say and No. We are not going to just leave you fighting for your life. We are going to fight with you and we are going to win. Together." Nia said staring into my eyes.

"She is right. We've always been together and we are in this together. No matter what." Eric said and others nodded.

"So you all are in?" Leo smiled.

"Yes!" They said in unison.

"Wow...I didnt know I was that hungry." Luca groaned putting his head on the table.

We were going to discuss about the plan but our precious food arrived and no one was in the mood to leave food so yeah, planning is for later now.

"Yeah man...I'm so tired though." Angelo added and that's true.

Everyone is drained out as they searched for me the whole night. I at least got some sleep but they didnt.

"Alright. Get some much needed rest. Leo and I have to meet someone." Serena said and looked at me in the end making me raise a brow.

She doesn't know anyone here.

Who is she going to meet?

"Some people who need to know about this." She smiled making me more curious because there is literally no one other than us here who are related to Luciano's family.

"Let's go upstairs." Luciano whispered as Serena and Leo walked out of the dinning room and everyone started going somewhere. Maybe bedrooms.

Suddenly, I find myself in Luciano's arms as he carries me upstairs bridal style.

"What are we going to do there?" I raised my eyebrows smirking at him making him chuckle.

Don't judge. I'm a woman with needs.

"Horny little thing." He muttered throwing me over his shoulder now and giving my butt a smack.

"Heyy!! What happened to the gentle Luciano!?" I laughed smacking his butt back.

"Well...he went on a break. Now you'll see the cold Luciano more often." He said in a serious tone.

"What?" I asked confused as he put me down on the bed and removed his shirt and pants getting inside the covers and looked at me.

"You'll understand it soon enough." He said staring into my eyes as a shiver went down my body.

Okay?

What does he mean?

He looks at me and then at all the injuries from the crash with a calculating gaze and finally looks into my eyes.

"How much pain are you in from a scale of 1-10?" He asked making me scrunch my eyebrows in confusion yet again but I didnt ask him.

"Six point five...ish..i guess." I replied making him nod.

At that point, we hear a knock on the door. Luciano slips his robe on and opens the door as a woman enters.

"Boss, I'm here for the check up as you ordered." She said in a sophisticated tone making Luciano nod and she comes to stand next to me by the bed.

Okay. Seriously!? Is this all I'm going to do now? Get confused!? What the fuck is happening?!

"Hello Miss, I'm Doctor Shea Michael and I'm here to check your injuries." She smiled politely.

I looked at her and then Luciano and shrugged. I need medicines anyway for the stupid injuries and the pain.

After five minutes she straightened up and looked at Luciano.

"Sir she needs at least three days to recover before you start what you want to." She said looking at Luciano making me roll my eyes in annoyance.

I'm just as clueless as you are. What does he want to start!?

"No. Like I told you before, we don't know how much time we have. It has to be tomorrow." He replied in a cold authoritative voice.

"But sir...she is already injured. She has cuts on her body. She hit her head too, I suggest you give her at least three days." She said in a pleading tone.

"Okay that's it! What the fuck is going on!? Why are you both talking as if I'm not even here and that too about me!" I snapped angrily making her look at me in slight pity.

What the actual fuck?

"Her cuts are wrapped so its fine. She is not that injured. Six point five ish pain level is tolerable. Its not a problem." Luciano said looking at her making her gasp.

Did he just ignore me!?

"In fact, I don't think she needs pain killers. Just give her all the meds for the cuts and injuries to heal. That's it." He replied in a concluding tone.

What!?

"Wait what no...I need the pain killers. You're not in pain you idiot. My cuts sting constantly like a bitch since we have come back and my head hurts like someone is hammering a nail into my skull so no...I do need pain killers." I almost yelled because why not?

I'm in pain and this idiot thinks I don't need pain killers and to top it off he keeps ignoring me.

"You haven't felt pain yet my love." He said in a promising tone scaring me a bit while the doctor looked like she could faint any minute as I'm sure she knows something I don't.

"Shift your stuff here today itself. We will need you more often." Luciano ordered her scared form.

"B..but..sir this is...the men's gang house..." She all but whispered scared.

"You'll get your room in a different wing. Just do as you're told without questioning." He hissed flicking his fingers in a dismissive gesture making her run out of the room.

"What the fuck was that about Luciano!?" I said as soon as the door closed.

He pulled off his robe and got back into the covers pulling me into his chest.

"I asked you something." I said pushing him slightly so I can look at his face.

"Don't worry love. Its nothing you should think about right now. Sleep." He muttered switching the lights off.

"Are you kidding me!? You just told her to not give me any painkillers! I have deep cuts and bruises." I exclaimed getting angry.

Its not my fault. I've been sitting and acting normal since we came here so nobody will worry about me but he should've known that I'm in pain. And even after I told him, he ordered her not to give me any.

Ass.

"Yes I did. Now sleep..you need all the rest." He said in a firm tone wrapping his arms around me tightly.

What's going on? What is he hiding from me? I swear to Satan if he does something stupid, I'm gonna kill him.

As much as I know Luciano though, he won't tell me right now if he doesn't think its right time to tell me. Doesn't matter if I yell or cry. I know for a fact that he will explain everything though. I just know.

"I'm sorry sweetheart. I love you." I hear him whisper as he softly kissed my head while my eyes closed.

I love you more.
