27. Tuesday Week Ten

"Noah is actively avoiding me."

"It won't last forever, tigru." Another jab to the punching bag.

"Well, it doesn't seem like it's getting any better."

"It will, Rei." Another jab

"How though? He won't reply to my texts. He won't answer my phone calls. He won't let me into his house. I don't know what to do."

Eli groaned, "it's been three days, Rei, I thought you were giving him space."

My eyes narrowed at Eli from my place on the floor of his gym. I had just finished tutoring Riley and normally after a tutoring session Eli and I (sometimes just me) would watch a movie with the girls before I left. Today, the girls were at a sleepover so Eli had decided to train in his gym, I had decided to watch him. Because let's be honest, he was bloody gorgeous on a good day so how could I resist the sight of him working out.

I had been doing homework whilst he trained but then Noah had popped into my mind so, naturally, I began speaking to Eli about it leading us to now.

Deciding to confront him about why he was getting visibly annoyed, I lifted up from my position of laying on the ground so that I was now sat cross-legged facing him, "what's wrong?"

Eli stopped punching the bag, catching it in his gloved hands, "nothing is wrong, Rei."

He began removing his gloves and he then reached for his water bottle beside me, but before he could pick it up, I swiped it and moved it out of the way.

He scowled at me.

"Cause that's the face of someone who isn't angry," I deadpanned

"I'm not in the mood, Rei."

Determined, my eyes narrowed and I opened my mouth to argue with him but then I decided to try a different approach. I schooled my features into indifference, "fine," I uttered, handing him his bottle back.

He looked suspicious as he peered down at me but he said nothing so I took it a step further. Curious, I began packing away my things, putting away my books, pens, pencils; everything.

"What are you doing?" Eli asked gruffly.

"I'm gonna go," I explained, standing up with my bag packed.

"Why?"

"Why would I stay, Eli?"

Just like mine did a few moments before, Eli's eyes narrowed at me, "you're the one who wanted to be here."

"I know," I nodded at him, before hiking my bag further up my shoulder, "and now I'm deciding to go."

Challenging him with my stare, I met his crystalline eyes but he did nothing. As in literally nothing, his face reverted to that annoying impassive state. Tired of it, I swirled on the heel of my knee-high boot before stalking off out of the gym.

I made it to the front door when someone's hand shot over my shoulder, slamming the door closed and preventing me from leaving. The smell of spice and leather that swathed me informed me that it was Eli, I didn't need to turn to know that.

"Come back downstairs," Eli demanded in a rumble from behind me.

"No."

"For fucks sake, Reillyn, why do you have to be so difficult?"

My temper sparked, I spun to face him, "me?! I'm the one being difficult, all I did was ask you" I poked a finger into his chest, "what's wrong."

"And all I did was tell you that nothing was wrong," he had raised his voice now and his arms rose and fell to his sides in his growing frustration.

"Don't turn this on me, Eli, you're pissed about something and you won't tell me what it is," I yelled at him

"Why do you need to fucking know?" He yelled right back

My brows furrowed and my voice softened considerably, "I don't need to know, Eli, I want to."

Eli stared at me, his nostrils flaring and hair still damp from the gym, his bare chest was rising and falling with his angered breathing. He placed a hand on the door behind him, bending down to meet my eyes, "that doesn't matter if I don't want you to know."

I suppose it didn't, "then let me leave."

"No."

Frustrated, I expelled a short breathe, "then what the hell do you want, Eli?"

"I want you to shut up about goddamn Noah!" He had stepped back from the door and was tugging at his roots in exasperation.

"What?" I asked him, shocked

"Oh come on, Rei," he groaned, "who the fuck wants to see his girl heartbroken over another man," I thought he would leave it there but he continued, "another man who actually deserves you Rei, who won't put you through the shit I do."

I was shocked, to say the least, Eli had told me so many things in those few words and I didn't know where to start, "you mean the arguing?"

"No, I mean that my life is fucked up, Rei, a lot more than you know and you deserve better than my bullshit."

Again, our argument did a complete one-eighty as I stepped close to him and hooked my arms around his neck. Almost instinctively, his arms came around my waist and I peered up into his icy blue eyes, "I'm your girl?"

A small smile tugged at the corners of Eli's lips as he dropped his forehead to rest against mine, "was that not obvious?"

I couldn't stop the huge grin from spreading across my face if I wanted to, "so, if I'm your girl," I reached up on my tiptoes so that my mouth would brush against his as I whispered my next words, "then your bullshit is my bullshit."

The second the last syllable left my lips, Eli was pushing his own against mine hungrily. I responded with just as much fervour, tangling my hands into his hair and pulling him as close as I could. My back hit the door and Eli's hands rounded my waist to cup my rear.

"Jump," he groaned into my mouth and, of course, I did, hooking my legs around his waist with a moan. With the support of the door behind me, Eli's hands could leave my bum to travel up my waist until he had one hand tangled in my hair and the other pressed against the door beside my head for support. Losing breath, Eli tilted my head back with one sharp tug on my hair causing a gasp to escape my mouth. His lips travelled from my mouth, down my jaw, my neck leaving a blazing trail of heat in its wake.

Addicted to his flavour, I pulled his head back up to mine, glueing my lips to his once again. His lips were soft but our kiss was hard. He gently bit my bottom lip and my mouth opened up to him, allowing our tongues to meet as our mouths fused together.

"Ahh! Oh, FUCK! My eyes, my poor, innocent eyes!"

Eli removed his lips from mine at the sound of Riley's yelling, we were both panting for breath and he groaned, his forehead falling to rest on my shoulder where he whispered under his breathe, "fucking interruptions."

Embarrassed my cheeks turned red but I released a small laugh at his comment, still breathless because of his lips, "put me down, Eli."

He groaned again, "do I have to?"

I smacked his shoulder, "yes!"

"I am going to go bleach my eyes," Riley announced from the top of the stairs.

After Eli set me down, I looked up at him to find him with the palms of his hands firmly pressed into his eye sockets. He tried to walk to his bedroom but ended up going straight into the wall because he wouldn't move his hands, idiot.

Eli's arms wrapped around my waist from behind, I placed my hands on his and then he started placing kisses along my neck. I tilted my head to the side and moaned, "one of us needs to get our own place."

Eli grunted against my neck but I pulled away and turned in his arms to face him. His hair was all mussed up and his lips were swollen and smeared with my clear lip gloss, his tongue darted out, "you taste like vanilla," he stated bluntly.

My cheeks reddened further and I was thankful for my olive skin which hid my blush. "Actually, my lip gloss tastes of vanilla," my hands came around his neck again and Eli began gently swaying us, I don't think he realised he was doing it.

"Hmm, I like it," he licked his lips again as he stared down at me.

An amused smile accompanied me moving my hands to try to wipe it off him and once I had I gripped his head between my hands, moving him so his forehead rested against my own, "I'm not heartbroken over Noah, Eli, I'm just sad."

"I know and I shouldn't have snapped at you. I want you to talk to me about things that make you sad," I smiled at him and he carried on, "and things that make you happy. I want you to talk to me about fucking everything, tigru."

I laughed at his words, he could be sweet when he wanted to be. "I guess I could share a few things with you," I teased.

Eli growled playfully before lifting me off the ground, I squealed with laughter, using his broad shoulders to steady myself. When he finally set me back on the ground I placed a soft kiss against his lips, both of us smiling broadly, "you are more than I deserve, Eli."

"No, tigru. You deserve the whole goddamn world."
