"Wake up!"

My eyes shot open as I looked around frantically for my parents, but I remembered solemnly where I was. I sat up with pain on my lower back, a grimacing look upon my face. The soldiers were handing out bowls of porridge to us, but I didn't want it. I refused anything they were trying to feed me. Who knew what was in it.

A girl who I had learned to grow fond of, named Enma, red hair and green eyes offered me a bowel she brought. I shook my head and pulled my knees to my chest. I wasn't hungry. Enma stared me down until I finally took it, and held it in my hands. She gave me a small smile." Maybe it won't be so bad, no? What if we get treated decently?"

I gave her a look of disblief. "When was the last time you were treated differently since we been ripped from our homes? I don't recall at all when they were nice." I rested my chin on the top of my knee as I stared at the cold floor.

"Lool! We have came upon the land!" One of the girls cried out, pointing one of her skinny fingers out the window.

We got up and looked ourselves, indeed seeing it. It was too large for my taste. I hated the way it looked, even of there were colorful explosions in the sky. I felt our boat stop moving after a while and a guard came in, motioning for us to follow. I stayed behind Enma, biting my lip as I glanced around the palace. It was alright, but I didn't know who would be excited to be inside a stone palace.

After it seemed like forever of following him, we were lined up in a line as an older lady with a stick walked in front of us and was admiring everyone. Her brown beady eyes squinted at everyone before she stood up tall and firm." When I move you, you will be sent straight to the Hamem to be washed up and prepared as students. You will earn your way to become concubines once you have surpassed your training. My name is Daye Hatun." She said simple, looking at everyone.

I tried to remember that name, but everything was slowly becoming over whelming. I wanted to see my family." When can we see our families?! "I blurted out. "I want to return home!"

Enma went to hush me but fell silent as Daye came over. "Enough girl! You will never see your families again. Accept this as a warning and a future advice: you are only here to serve the palace and make the Sultan's happy. When you become old enough, we will marry you off if you behave." Her eyes were on me however.

I felt my lower lip quivered as tears were brought to the corners of my eyes. We would never see our families? That couldn't be! Papa needed me! Salem needed me! Nama needed me! Daye got to a few girls, sending them to the other direction and as she got to me, she tried to send me with them but I refused to move, glaring her down. Daye glared back." Move, or else."

I still refused and the guards came over, trying to drag me and I freaked out, thrashing in their holds and screaming my families names out. In the distance, I saw a beautiful Red haired fair woman with two ladies following her, and she was stopped in a hallway and watching me with curious blue eyes. I didn't want to become someone's property--i was me. "CURSE ALL OF YOU-- EVEN YOUR DAMN SULTANS'!" I screamed  before I was dragged to the hamem to be washed up.
