A/N: Double update 36-37. Just a reminder cause I don't want you guys to accidentally skip chapter 36.

He

Having regular Obie in near proximity invoked tingles in his hands and toes. His link to regular Obie was fiercer and overwhelmingly, bewitching. He could feel the depth of her emotions, leading regular Obie's decisions as she embraced her knees and stared at him like he's a hunter. Her fingers laced and tangled into one another, while her index finger tapped anxiously on her kneecap.

Her heart rate was steady. But her breathing was uneven.

He was at awe. Regular Obie was sitting on the pillow by the headboard in front of him. He'd imagine this moment countless times, but refused to believe the event will proceed in physical existence. He was proven wrong. He was given hope. For an unknown cause, she was here and he could barely decide what to do.

He crouched at the edge and shuffled through his scholastic cards. He had to memorize and comprehend the jointed letters to advance his language for communication. He had to talk to regular Obie.

After a couple hours, regular Obie ultimately spoke. "What are you doing?"

"Learning." He answered, tenderly. "For you."

Regular Obie scratched her fluffy head self-consciously. "Okaaay."

He had his next response in his head, though how it came out was unalike. "To tawk."

"It's 'talk'." Regular Obie corrected him for the third time. He tried to keep still to prevent his swooning from being seen. Regular Obie helped him. She's not running from or dismissing him with her strange temperament.

He looked at her, thoughtfully. "Tawk."

"You sound like you were born in Boston." She prudently pronounced. "Talk."

He cleared his throat. "Talk."

"Right."

"Sometimes. Painful. Talk." He recited the three words she taught him to say correctly.

"At least, you learn fast."

She gave him a compliment! He didn't have to rely on the flash cards to respond back at her. "Thank you."

Surprised, she widened her eyes and blinked twice. "It's hard to find the right words to say to you. I'm not used to this at all. I barely talk to humans."

Humans. She meant regulars. Curiously, he asked, "Why?"

She ignored his question. "I can help you learn to talk and understand."

His blue eyes glimmered.

"In return, I need your help."

His lips curled, thinking about slaughtering anyone for regular Obie. "Kill."

"No. no." She waved her hands. "No. No Kill. Kill very bad."

The vampire said flatly, "Sometimes."

"We can both agree to that." Regular Obie folded her arms. "But I don't want you to kill. I want you stick around, so I can figure out some things"

He tilted his head in question, but will do and say anything to have regular Obie in his space. "Yes."

"Well that's not hard for you...considering."

The vampire nodded, knowingly. He will always follow regular Obie.

"I have a few guidelines. Do you know what guidelines are?"

He paused for a couple of minutes. Guidelines were similar to..."Rules."

"Exactly. I have rules." Regular Obie held the creature in the air. "You see this animal. Her name is Burrito. She's a possum. Technically, opossum. She's my friend. You cannot eat her! I repeat you cannot eat her! Understand?"

He scrunched his nose in disgust. "Yes."

She put the creature named Burrito on her lap and whispered. "Two; you cannot give me your blood anymore."

"No," he said nippily.

"'No' as in you won't give me your blood? Or 'no' as in you don't care and you are still going to do it."

"I still do it." Their connection strengthened the more his blood was inside of her. In drastic times, he would force regular Obie to drink his blood to heal her broken body to have a life among the living. He would continue to save regular Obie with his blood if she falls again. Also, he refused to imagine a life without regular Obie and their linkage. It was special.

Regular Obie scoffed. Her foot constantly shook in her dander. "That's not how rules work."

He ignored her, reading through his dictionary. "My rules now. No stabbing."

"What?! Since when did I stab you?"

He pointed at his wrist and turned around to show his finger flexing at his upper back.

"Oh." The day regular Obie awakened after he saved her in the store, she was ripe with distress. Needless to say, she wanted to kill him. Therefore, as he was trying to rest, a sharp pain dug through his back and it led to their second fight. In the heated instant, she stabbed his hand. "I won't stab you unless you pose as a threat. But my rule still stands. You cannot give me your blood."

He narrowed his eyes. "No."

"Fine. I'll leave."

He stood up. "No!"

She repeated, slowly. "You cannot give me your blood anymore. You cannot act crazy. That's my rule or I'm out. We're never going to speak again. I will try to hide from you anywhere I can."

Leaving was not an option. He finally had regular Obie. He couldn't lose her. The vampire growled, pulling at his long tresses till they pulled out and regenerated.

"Go and throw a tantrum. It's not going to help."

He plopped on the ground with both an angry and defeated look. "Yes."

"Perfect."

He grumbled underneath his breath and rolled his eyes.

"That's all the rules I can think of. So far." She tapped her chin.

Yes, he and regular Obie will be with each other.

"Wait!"

He looked at her peculiarly.

"First and foremost, you need to put some clothes on."

"C-c-clothes?"

"Yes." She walked to the closet. "These dresses are clothes. They are meant to cover your body. Nakedness is a no go unless you're genuinely a nudist. I highly doubt."

Regular Obie pointed to something between his legs. "That's not supposed to show. You need this."

He looked down to the hanging thick skin in the middle of his two legs. He assumed it was long extra skin. At times, he had a rush of bloody liquid shooting out after he finished feeding.

She patted her pants, catching his attention. The material was surrounding her long legs with tears that exposed her brown skin.

"Give me." He said. Her scent lingered in these "pants", so he can save and smell it whenever he desired.

"No. Not my pants. You need your own pants. I'll have to get you some." Regular Obie hummed in thought. She stopped in realization. "I'll be back."

She retrieved her belongings with Burrito on her shoulder.

She can't leave him.

The vampire sped in front of her.

"Woah." She stepped back as he denied her access to the door. "Listen, I'm just going back to the house to get you some clothes."

His whole body seemed to harden. "No."

"I'll be back." She moved forward and he moved to block her.

She stepped back again before they were chest to chest. "If I take too long, wait for the sun to go down and come across to the house. I'll let you in."

He didn't move.

"Look, If I decided to run and not come back, wouldn't you find me?"

He hesitated and bowed his head. But she could hide like she said.

"So what would be the point if I leave? I already said I won't unless you break the rule and act crazy." Regular Obie said. "This is acting crazy."

He looked away, fearful to allow regular Obie's exit. After her threat, he wasn't confident she would return to him. On the other hand, he would chase after her if she decided to run.

"I'm going to leave now. I will be back." Regular Obie said gently, moving around his frozen body. Once she noticed he wasn't stopping her, she paced out of the room and her feet clashed against the steps in loud pounding till she was out the door.

He remained still, because he didn't trust himself to move. He had to wait for regular Obie or go to her. Before both decisions, he had to learn patience; not in just definition but in action.

No matter how much it pained him.

A/N: Double update 36-37. I hope I made up for the teasing with the previous chapters. Obie and the vampire are now paired. The beginning of something new for both of them! Two more updates tomorrow. Possibly Three.
