"What's your name?"

Obie ignored him.

It's been 15 minutes since she told him the weather was going to change drastically to a cloudy, rainy state. The difference between the sunny morning and the cloudy afternoon was going to change their plans in using her as bait and capturing the vampire.

She revealed the weather change to speed things up and to save her own life. They can hurry to find new plans to trap the vampire, however it will be difficult because they don't have enough time. They'll have to improvise and hopefully move Obie.

Obie can't stay in this room. If the sun was blocked, her little friend wasn't going to be the only bloodsucker on the prowl to feed. She couldn't stay in the room to wait for both her and this group to find out. She had to tell them for her sake.

But here she was. Unmoved.

Military man was cross legged on the floor and digging through her bag. All her gadgets was thrown out as he teased and waved her fake gun into her face.

He snapped twice at her. "Hello? What's your name?"

"Why aren't you telling your people? It's going to happen and it's going to happen soon." Obie glared at him.

"I want to get through your bag first. Boss man has a problem with me not following orders. I'm not trying to hear his mouth," he pulled a coloring book out of Obie's bag. "Codename Kids Next Door, huh? Either you're a 90's baby or you just thought this looked cool."

"I'm not telling you anything about me. There's no point."

"I said I'll try to talk to Kim." He pulled out Obie's small mirror and threw it on the ground.

"Why? I'm apparently the enemy. Plus, I think you made it obviously clear that you don't like me nor my wit,"

"I actually think you're entertaining," he smirked. "A little annoying if I stay in the room with you for too long. But other than that, you're a good laugh."

"You want to keep me alive because I'm a joke?" Obie needed one of his other people to switch with him. He was poking at Obie's nerves. "I hate you."

"I know."

"Why don't you switch with someone? Get someone else to babysit me."

"No."

"Why?"

"Any one of them will allow Kim in to kill you."

"So you're my savior. " Obie scoffed. "Let me be first to thank you for tricking me into coming to a raggedy ass market, where I was ambushed by a vengeful wife and a dead man's brother with their sidekicks. I'm so grateful."

"Your welcome." He said simply. "Better with a group than alone."

"Stop acting like this is for my own good. I don't know you! You are the reason I'm here in the first place!"

"Chill out," he continued to dig through her bag.

"Chill out?!" Obie couldn't believe this.

"Yes. Chill. Out. Also, if you want to tell me your name, that would be a plus."

"Bite me."

"I'm gonna have to decline your offer." He shrugged. "What is this?"

He pulled out her mother's beautiful red scarf. At home, she had a closet full of choices; her mother's jewelry, hats, skirts, dresses, gloves, and shoes. Though, that red scarf meant everything and more to Obie.

A sudden craze struck Obie. It released out of her before she can stop it. "DON'T TOUCH HER!"

The military man exchanged a confused look between the scarf and Obie. "Her? Her as in the scarf?"

Her heart was beating against her chest. "Don't. Just please don't."

She expected Military man to ignore her plea. He would tease or mock her desperation for her mother's scarf. To him, the scarf was a lengthy material meant to wound around the neck for warmth.

To Obie, it's value could not be pin pointed for any amount.

Military man did the unexpected. He folded the scarf, smoothly. He opened the front part of her bag, carefully placed the material inside and zipped it.

Obie's heart calmed down slightly.

He said one word in a serious tone. "Better?"

She nodded slowly.

"Do you want to know why I want you to live? It's not going to break my heart if you die. Not going to affect me."

"Then, why?"

"Your life matters to the world," He stopped searching through Obie's bag. "We can't waste it."

"That's not really your decision. You or Kim. Whether I matter or not should be my decision alone."

"Selfishness is not a good look."

"Nor does revenge, yet you all seem to advocate for it." Obie shot back.

"You're smart," He began searching through the bag again. "Now what do we have here?"

It just got worse.

Obie slumped into her seat.

Military man had the photo of her, her mom and dad when she was little.

He was reading the back first. "I love you. Forever and always. Never give up. Never step down. The world is yours. From Mommy and Daddy. To our dearest child, Obie Holloway,"

Obie sucked her teeth.

The military man smiled in victory. "Nice to meet you, Obie. Your parents were inspired by Star Wars?"

Her Dad was. But she refused to answer him. How she got her name was irrelevant.

He turned the photo around with a teasing smile. Yet, after a couple seconds, Military man's smile flattened into a grim line of suspicion. His eyes squinted as he pulled the photo closer to his face.

"Is there a problem?" Obie said in annoyance.

The military man looked at Obie wide eyed and returned to the photo to stare in disbelief.

Was she so ugly as a toddler?

Military Man charged at Obie and practically thrusted the photo in her face. "Where is he?!"

"Where is who?!"

"Lauren didn't report that you had company. Are your parents alive? Are they infected?! Where is he?!"

"What the hell are you talking about?!"

"Dr. Holloway is alive?!"

Doctor Holloway? Her father wasn't a doctor.

"You got the wrong person."

"I have the right person. Where is he?!"

Obie scowled. "I don't know who the fuck you're talking about,"

He pointed to her father. "This man in the photo. He's your father, isn't he?!"

"So."

"Then, you know what I'm taking about" he pressed.

"No I don't because we are talking about two different people. Not all black people look the same."

He grunted in aggravation.

Military man wanted to argue some more. His lips were parted, the vein on his neck pulsed and his hands shook like he wanted to shake her.

He about faced and stormed out the door, closing it.

It officially got weird for Obie.

She didn't understand his irritation. He mistook her father for another man. He referred to him as Dr. Holloway, but he was not. Her father was a biomedical engineer with numerous doctor friends. Osier Holloway was around many doctors, but unfortunately, he wasn't one. Plus, the military man most likely picked up on her last name on the back of the photo and situated it with some insane theory of her father this guy.

She had to get out.

She had to get to Burrito.

The door opened again.

Military man was with the tough guy Sam.

He was bigger than Military man. His muscles were bulging through his skin. Sam was tall, white and had the face only a mother could love.

Sam looked at her, nonchalantly. "I'm not watching her. She smells."

Obie scoffed.

Military man closed the door and shoved her photo in his face. "Check this out."

Sam accepted her photo. A bored expression coated his face until he had a similar realization like Military man. "Jesus..."

"Exactly." Military man folded his arms.

"Dr. Holloway? Where did you find this?"

"The baby in the pic." He nodded towards Obie.

"No shit. This is hers."

"I found it in her bag."

Sam raised his funky, thick brow at Obie.

For some reason, he pulled Military man into the corner and kept his voice at a hush hush. Fortunately, Obie could hear them. They were in a tiny room. She doesn't know why he expected his conversation to be private.

Sam whispered. "This might be bogus."

"Or it could be a lead. C'mon, Sam. We've been looking for him for weeks."

"Doc didn't tell us Holloway had a kid."

"We knew he had a wife. Plus, the doc said he hadn't seen Holloway in years before the AIV breakout." Military man shook his head.

"We can't expose our positions without letting Kim and Rocky know we've been spying on the Capital."

What's the Capital?

Why the hell do they think her father is this Dr. Holloway?

"I have an idea. Daylight is about to be shot out. Clouds are going to hit us soon."

"Suckers are going to be out, then. We should move out with the group. Backout of these plans for this vampire Kim and Rocky want."

"We should move out with the girl. Only us three."

"Logan, do you know how long we been spying on these freaks." Sam pointed towards the door, referring to the people outside. "If we leave with her, they are going to wonder why and try to blame it on the Sanctuary. We could lose all we worked for. I don't want to make this war between the Capital and Sanctuary worse. We're supposed to do our jobs, so these people don't attack home without us knowing. "

Ahh.

Obie had to chuckle just a little bit.

She had to get this all straight.

Obie was tricked by Military man aka Logan into a market.

She was, then, taken hostage by a group who was from the "Capital". Particularly, Kim and Rocky wanted her dead, because the vampire killed their loved one while she survived the attack.

After.

She was tied up and prepared to be put up for bait for the vampire, who was following her.

Logan had been annoying her with his presence, while searching through her bag because their leader Rocky commanded him too.

He found her family picture.

Assumed her father was a doctor they've been searching for.

Finally, certainly not least, Logan and the other guy Sam are traitors of their own group. They were spying on the Capital for their home community, the Sancturary, because there was a human war going on.

Now, they were willing to risk their positions to help her escape, because they are too slow to accept her father and that doctor were not the same people.

Unbelievable, but believable.

"Rover was a power hungry asshole before he got killed. Rocky is the same. They couldn't find Dr. Holloway. How long have they been searching for Dr. Holloway and got nowhere? We made sure of it. Any lead they had, we threw it in the trash. But we possibly have his daughter. Now we know where he lives. I think we should take her and skip."

"What about the others?" Sam said. "They are on their way here."

"Contact them. Tell them to stay." Logan shook his head. "We gotta get rid of these folks here."

"We don't have to if the Suckers are coming. We should keep the weather to ourselves. We'll let the Suckers attack the rest of the group while we escape.."

Logan nodded. "We'll improvise till then."

While they devised their own craziness, Obie had an idea of her own. These nutty assholes could believe in their own fantasy about her dad. The other ones behind the door can continue to have hissy fits over their dead little Rover. Obie didn't have the heart or patience to acknowledge them both. The one thing she can accept was taking an advantage of her current situation.

Obie spoke up. "Now that you girls got everything figured out. The real question is how are you guys going to keep me quiet?"
