I didn't get a chance to eat thanks to the calling of a meeting.

The Principal of the University had asked us all into her office to talk about some important news for the year.....her room was very spacious and almost the same size as a lecture theatre.

I found a place near to the back and was joined by Lavendar.

"So how was your first lesson?"

"It was excellent, all my students are very well behaved and I managed to get Maria Carter and Jessica to talk to each other"

"You did......oh"

"Is there something wrong?"

"You clearly don't know Maria the way that Jessica has told me.....she is quite a manipulative person and if she manages to become friends with Jessica again then she will try to win her back"

"Well she can forget that.......I had a little chat with Jessica and told her how smitten you are with her........and she told me something which I think she didn't mean to"

"You have me curious now"

"Well I don't think it will do any harm.....she told me that you are her girlfriend"

"Girlfriend?"

"Oh wow I don't know what to say"

"Say yes.......I am sure it's what you want anyway"

"Your right Elixir.......she has been a breath of fresh air, these feelings scared me at first but now I am ready to embrace them"

"Lavendar I am really happy to hear that, and I am happy for you"

"Oh before I forget......the locum doctor at the surgery who I see is leaving and so I need to re-register....I have an appointment with Terri later today"

"That's good........pass on a message for me?"

"Sure what is it?"

"Tell her......I miss her"

"Count on it Elixir"

We had been gossiping for a good ten minutes and missed a lot of what the Principal had said, fortunately she handed out information booklets which gave a detailed overview of the meeting so we didn't miss out.

As I was about to head to the canteen and pick up a sandwich before this afternoons lesson I felt Lavendar tap me on the shoulder...

"I should warn you about these twins, they are in your lesson this afternoon"

"Oh right.......what about them"

"It's their names"

"Names.......I don't understand"

"Have you heard of the actors Jeff and Lloyd Bridges?"

"Yes, of course"

"Well they are related to them and so there last name is Bridges"

"What's wrong with that?"

I could see her laughing and I wanted to know what the joke was...

"Sorry Elixir...It's their first names"

"Go on Lavendar......tell me"

"They are called Brooklyn and Manhattan"

"You're serious??"

"Yes........but I will tell you they are lovely girls......just don't make fun of them"

"You know me Lavendar......I don't have a funny bone"

I watched her walk back to the bursary.......she was chuckling to herself, I turned around and made my way back to the class and a meeting with Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges!!
