Ever realise how in most fanfictions, the original character is named after a colour or a flower?

They're always named 'rose', 'blue', 'lily' or such. It's not that there's anything wrong with it. It's just that unless there's a backstory to your character being named 'blue', then it's just stupid.

And don't get me started on Arab girls being called 'Emma' or whatever. Or indian characters being titled a name that is unheard of in India.
[ i'm not talking about poc characters raised in an english enviroment]

It wouldn't hurt to do a little research on your characters ethnicity before you call yourself a diverse queen and write them off to sound white when they where not raised that way.

Do! Research! On! Their! Traditions! And! Holidays! And! Beliefs!
