It was funny seeing a 'don't mess with me' person going inside the house with a burger king shopping bag. But I had to stop the awwww that was threatening

to come out of my mouth and ignore him. While he was gone, I decided that I will not talk to him until he tells me the whole truth behind his job, behind our marriage.

I could see him with his proud smile walking up to me and handing me the burgers. In respond, I turned around from him, giving him the access to watch my impressive back.

"Do you like ignoring people or is it just me?" He asked, sounding half angry and half amused.

I wanted to tell him that he brings out the worst in me and that I never ignore people, (him not included) but I stopped myself.

"Do you want your burgers?" He asked me and I obviously didn't reply.

"Ok, I guess I can eat them if you really don't want them." He teased. I was so close to telling him to let go of my little burgers, but again, I stopped myself.

He sat on the sofa, next to my laying figure, and began to chew the burgers loudly.  Just like a caveman. At some point he even began to moan and say that they taste like heaven.

Although he was actually being cute, I couldn't bring myself to forget and just move on without answers. After he finished his enjoyable burger, I felt his strong arms turning my body so I was laying on my back, facing him.

"You don't have any burgers left now Mariah, and you know why? Because you are simply immature."

Your mother is immature.

I stuck my tongue out at him and tried to turn back around but he was holding still.

He suddenly moved his hand to my forehead and that was when I began to panic.

No, no, no, no, no, no, no.

I was mentally preparing myself for that moment when he was gone, what I didn't know was that he will get that pissed with me.

"You are burning." He stated, his eyes held a lot of anger inside them. I tried to turn around again but his grip was even tighter than before.

"I told you to call me if that happens." I could tell he was trying to keep himself under control. I could also tell that it got harder for him by any second of me ignoring him.

"You better have a good explanation for your behaving Mariah." I stuck my tongue at him once again and this time I even managed to turn around.

He was so intimidating.

He stood up from the sofa and I knew, I just knew that he will bring that damn towel again and guess what? I was right, like always. He sat next to me again, turned me around against my will (may I add) and laid that cold stupid towel on my forehead. We both stared deeply at each other's blue eyes for what seemed like forever without saying a single word. We didn't need to. I could see his anger, his concern, his tiredness, his despair. He could see my stubbornness, my tiredness, my pain, my weakness. As we looked at each other, our eyes softened, but it wasn't enough to get me talking and Kevin knew it. He left minutes later after he laid on the wooden table next to the sofa four huge burgers with fries and some water with pain killers. I wanted to kiss him so badly at that moment and tell him how much that meant to me, but I stopped myself.

Like I always do.

*********

"Jane?" I screamed from happiness once I reached the kitchen and saw her talking to Kevin. I ran towards her, forgetting about the weakness that washed my whole body minutes ago when I woke up.

In bed.

Kevin was making it harder and harder to hate him.

I used all of my energy to hug her tightly, my wide smile not leaving my face.

"I missed you." I whispered once I let go of her, looking into her beautiful brown eyes.

"I was worried about you Mariah." She said quietly.

"You shouldn't have, I am perfectly fine. Besides, you are my hero Jane, and I mean it." I hugged her once again.

"Thank you, thank you, thank you." I released her and saw a small smile on her face as well.

"I deserved some explanations, don't you think?" She asked, curiosity burning in her eyes.

"You do, and I promise to give them to you. I just need some time to adjust." I said, moving my gaze to Kevin's understanding eyes.

"How are you feeling?" He suddenly asked. My heart began to beat faster from just hearing his voice, and I regretted looking at him in first place. I was locked on my goal to ignore him until he gives me some answers, but I couldn't ignore that question. Jane would be suspicious of our relationship and that was the last thing I needed.

"Ok." I answered and he nodded, moving his eyes to the newspaper in front of him.

"Kevin told me that you were burning yesterday, do you want some tea?" She asked kindly.

"Yes please." I begged and she began laughing. Kevin kept his eyes on the newspaper.

"There you go dear." Jane handed me the tea and I thanked her quietly. I began drinking the tea peacefully, but before I knew it, there was an uncomfortable silence in the kitchen. I was about to break it, and before I had the chance to, Kevin's phone rang loudly.

"Hey Addison." Kevin answered nicely.

Addison?

Please be his sister, please be his sister, please be his sister. I took another sip from my amazing tea but when I heard:

"Last night was amazing."

The tea flew out of my mouth to Kevin's newspaper, and I started to cuff loudly.

He

Did

Not

Jane and Kevin were looking at me like they just saw the weirdest most disgusting thing on earth. I couldn't blame them, but I couldn't manage to stop cuffing too, and so I was running to closest bathroom, knowing what was about to happen.

"I have to go Addison, thank you again." I heard the asshole say before he hung up on his wonderful sl.... don't say it.

I bent down to the toilet level, and started throwing up like crazy. I felt his arms moving up and down my back, just like last time. I was so fucking mad at him that I wanted nothing to do with him and his touch.

Like I said, one step forward, four steps back.

After at least two whole minutes of just throwing up the burgers from the day before and the tea, I stood up.

"Don't touch me!" I yelled at him once I turned around, forgetting completely about my promise to ignore him.

"Don't ever touch me again you fucking jerk!" I yelled at him once again.

"Don't use that tone with me Mariah." He warned.

I was too damn shocked and angry to deal with him, and when I tired to walk out of the bathroom he stopped me. Holding me close to him by my waist.

"She was helping me out last night in the club. She was amazing at her job. That's it. Stop being such a drama queen Mariah."

"You know it didn't sound like it." I glared at him.

"I don't care." He said. I felt the tears building up in my eyes.

He was cold to me again and I hated that.

"Whatever, keep being an asshole." I managed to pull out from his strong grip and got out of the bathroom.

I didn't even brush my teeth because of him, and I felt even worse than before because of it.

Asshole.
