Hey guys, please take a second to read what I have to say.

I wrote this story many years ago. I was naive, and my writing skills back then are not something that I am proud of.

Do you wake up sometimes and feel like you want to do something important?

Exactly. For me, it was the day I published this story. My goal was to reach 1,000 reads and make myself available for people who need to talk to me privately or even through random comments.

But these comments.

God, people, what are you thinking to yourselves?

I am done with all of this hate. As I said before, I was naive, and my writing skills were not that great. It's your own choice if you want to keep on reading or move on to the next story so that I will not have to see what a world without any support looks like(don't worry, I will not get mad).

Also, I am slowly editing the story. It will take some time, but we will get there.

Lastly, let me give you a piece of advice for life:

Stop with the hate. Always aim to be a better person.

Darkness was all I could see, and the creepy feeling I have been holding inside me ever since I walked outside of the gym, just refused to leave me. I knew it was cold, but the sweat avoided me from feeling it, and as gross as it may sound, I was thankful for it.

I walked for at least 10 minutes, not having the slightest clue on where I was heading. The silence in the air was starting to drive me crazy. I was starting to regret running away from the house. But how could you blame me? My parents are crazy! Crazy enough to...

"Mariah, get into the car right now!" I heard a very familiar voice calling me from behind.

Without a second thought, I started to run. Goosebumps began showing on my skin due to the strong wind hitting me with much power. But before I knew it, the car was catching up with me. I realized that there was no point in running anymore.

I paused, and a wave of weakness washed over me. My whole body was screaming out in pain. The car immediately stopped, and so I looked to my right, ready to face my awful mother. She opened her mouth, but before she could even say a word, I stopped her hatefully.

"Don't even think about convincing me! I am not going to spend the rest of my life with an old man just because you and your dear husband want me to!"

Her dark brown eyes were glaring at me, the same glare as always. At that moment, I was thanking my father for giving me his bright blue eyes (even though I was furious with him too).

"First of all young lady, he is not..."

"I don't care what he is not mom! I am not going to marry him!"

My wonderful mother started to breathe in and out in pure anger. She usually claims that it is the only thing helping her deal with how stubborn I get sometimes.

"You don't have anywhere to sleep tonight, and you know it. Listen to me for the first time in your life and get into the freaking car already!"

I was frightened. Unfortunately for me, my dear mother could get scary at any time of the day. I strongly believed that she could kill me, right there on the spot, if I wouldn't do as I was told. So for the actual first time, I listened to her. I got into the 'freaking car'. If you can call 'a freaking car' a black Lamborghini.

We started to drive back home, or at least that's what I thought. As we passed many trees and tiny mysterious houses, the road suddenly became unfamiliar. That same creepy feeling from earlier was building up again.

Great.

"This is not the way home is it?" I asked, not getting any response.

"Are you kidnapping me or something?" My sarcastic question made her laugh, but it freaked me out even more because she didn't answer my question.

I stayed silent for an unknown reason.

So many questions were crossing my mind, and it took so much effort to stay quiet. I guess I just didn't desire to know the answers to these questions. I found myself playing with my silver rings, examining the way they hugged my fingers almost perfectly when suddenly, my mother stopped the car.

I glanced up from my shaky hands to see something unexpected. The cream shiny walls were the only thing I could focus on when I first laid my eyes on the house.

How could anyone make plain walls look so bright and shiny?

The house had 3 floors and was surrounded by lovely flowers on the sides. It had large windows and a huge wooden door.

The sight was beautiful.

"Why are we here?" I broke the deep, uncomfortable silence between us.

"This is your new house, Mariah," she told me, sounding annoyed.

"And why exactly do I need a new house?" I asked her, acting innocent.

Maybe they just bought me this house to make me happy and indep...

"Because you are going to live here with your husband."

Of course.

As soon as she got out of the car, I locked the doors from the inside. I was not going inside to see my dear future husband sitting on a chair and reading newspapers from 1950!

She was trying to convince me to unlock the doors by knocking loudly on the windows.

But why would I ever do that?

My brilliant plan was to stay there until my parents understood how stupid they were, telling me to marry someone who can be my grandfather for God's sake!

I decided to ignore my mother with no success. She kept on telling me to open the doors before I regret it, but the only person who will regret it will be her when she finds me dead in the house because I didn't bring the grandfather his beer.

A smile appeared on my face from the thought, and I only then realized that it was finally quiet. I glanced up immediately, and on my right, I saw an unfamiliar man behind the window. He was trying to tell me to open the window, surprisingly, I did.

That man was the definition of gorgeous. Broad shoulders, sharp jawline, dark brown hair, and deep blue eyes. I don't know what about him made me do exactly what he asked me to do. I guess it was just him. None of us said anything after I opened the window.

He was focused on looking at me straight into the eyes, and so did I.

"Get into the house," he ordered.

His voice was low and calm, but at the same time it was dangerous, letting me know that I shouldn't mess with him or make him mad. But let's test how dangerous he really is.

"I am not going in there," I smiled at the angry man.

"You will not be smiling soon if you don't get into this house."

"I am not interested in living with an old man, thank you very much," I assured him, and closed back the window.

This time, a smile appeared on his face. It was the most charming smile I have ever seen. I needed to remember his smile, because the only smile that I was going to see in the next 4 years was going to be a smile without any teeth involved.

God, how funny can a person even get?

I could feel him watching me with his dark blue eyes behind the window for a few more minutes before he knocked on the window.

This time, I didn't open it.

Yes, he was more than beautiful on so many levels, but it didn't mean I was going to open the window for him. I had better things to do. He knocked again, but I chose to ignore.

Who was he anyway?

Who was he anyway? With a sudden move, he took out his phone and began to look for something in it. When he found what he wanted, he turned his phone around. The picture of a small gym was shown on his phone, and my curiosity grew. I opened the window slowly. He began talking right away.

"You work in this place don't you?" he questioned, and I didn't even bother to answer.

"The boss there is a very good friend of mine. I am sure he will be very sad to hear that he has to fire you just because you couldn't walk your ass to the house. We don't want him to be sad, now do we?"

Anger was spreading throughout my whole body. He was messing with the wrong person!

"Who the fuck do you think you are?" I screamed at the gorgeous man in front of me.

"I am Kevin Jones, your future husband."
