Seconds pass as I froze in place, puke dripping from my mouth.

"S-SORRY!!!!" I cried out before throwing myself off Papa's lap. "I-i didn't mean too!!"

This time for sure- Papa was going to hit me.

I quickly tried to clean up the mess, accidently smearing it with my shaking hands on the desk and floor.

"Soraya." Papa's voice was gentle as he spoke but I still couldn't help but flinch at the sound. "Come here."

I stood, feeling my knees hitting each other hard as I did so. I couldn't look him in the eyes.

"You fell pretty hard, are you okay?" Papa moves his hands slowly towards me; seeming to give me a choice of letting him touch me.

Something wet falls down my cheeks as I realized this- was this tears? I'm not supposed to cry, good girls don't cry.

"It must of really hurt." Papa hands carefully touched me when I didn't move away before lifting me back up onto his lap. "Will you let me see?"

I tried to stop crying, covering my eyes with my hands.

"Soraya?" I felt Papa's hands circle around my wrists and gently tugged at them. I let them fall into his hands as I felt Papa look at me. "I can heal it for you as long as you tell me where it hurts."

I looked up to his purple eyes which were so different than mine, that were gazing back worried and felt another wave of tears spring up.

"Hic-" I suddenly gasp as my chest  tightened from the strong feelings that  rush over me and buried my head into his chest as a sob escaped from me.

I felt protected in Papa's arms, safe so I allowed those feelings to finally come out.

The emotions of sadness, anger, fear, and desperation from before my death and being thrown off the wagon a few days rushed out of me; all the tension that had supported me through each bad experience disappeared- leaving me feeling hopeless and empty.

Papa's arms circle around my body as I shattered, his warmth slowly melted the sharp edges and smoothed them over as all of the tears that I've held in for so long were finally left me.

That was the last thing I remember.

I looked down at the small child in my arms as she slept. Her head felt hot against my chest as I waved my hand, using magic to clean myself and her before standing.

"Master." Mimi raises her hands, offering to take the child from me.

"No. I'll take her back." I shook my head and walked through the doors that opened automatically.

"My King." A familiar voice echoes quietly in the hall as the owner of the voice stood in the center of the path to her room.

"Abaddon." I did not stop as I walked, knowing that he would follow.

Abaddon has served me for a long time, an old man who had been called 'The Destroyer' during his youth. A being that was both kind and cruel; his name still causes fear to anyone who hears on the battlefield and most pray never to meet him.

"Is this the child you picked up?" A long wrinkled eyebrow raises as he peered over to look at her.  "How tiny."

"Yes."

We walk a few more paces until he spoke once again.

"I see that you swore protection over the human child."

"Yes-"

"I know that it is not my place: my King, but it is not a wise idea to raise a human within the demon kingdom. Even with your protection- she will face many difficulties. I can not even begin to understand why you brought her here in the first place."

The door to Soraya's rooms opens as I approach and I gently set her down after Mimi quickly pulled away the white fur blanket that she had been resting on before.

"I do not understand myself." I snapped my fingers causing the blankets tucked in around her. "Seeing this child in such a shape.... I had the feeling that something terrible would happen to her if I left her."

Abaddon was silent after my statement, seeming to mull over my words.

"Ugh."

I looked down to see Soraya frowning and immediately reached over to smooth her brow, an action that surprised even me.

"Abaddon." I finally say after a few moments as she grabbed onto my hand with her thin fingers. "This human belongs to me. If anyone has something to say about that- they must come tell me directly. As long as this child calls me Papa- she will treated as my daughter."

I paused and looked at him.

"Is that clear?"

"Yes My king." Abaddon bows, Mimi following suit.

"Good." I could feel Soraya squeezing my hand as I used magic to clean off her brow. "Mimi- get the doctor. I want one that can be trusted."

"Of course Master."
