Zero~

Dreamland had changed, and not for the better. Gone was my beautiful meadow and sky full of roses. Instead, Dreamland was a winter wasteland, snow crunched under my bare feet and I wore a pair of black leggings and some sort of makeshift bra. Mira however, wore armored boots, heavy pants, and a long sleeve shirt. Her hair was pulled back into a bun, while mine fanned around me.

"If I didn't know any better," I drawled out, "You'd be animalizing me."

"Why are you here?" she asked softly.

My master was broken.

I sighed, because now I understood.

"I am not enough for them," I then said instead, "I never will be. If you disappear they will always be asking about you. They will always be waiting for you. I am not you, I cannot replace you and I have tried. It is not enough to just be strong."

She shook her head, "I'm tired of losing."

"But you haven't!" I cried, "You idiot! You're so focused on what you don't have, you do not see what you do have! Lisa almost died. She needs her friend, she needs her chosen sister. That is not me. Sebastian is out there waiting for you. You should meet Oliver, you'll love him and Owl. We're meeting people every day, we're living. Have you tasted peaches? God, they're amazing. And the sun rising. I have your memories too, I remember siting beside Cerci in the early morning, I can feel her skin against mine. You cannot tell me you're fine with missing all of that?"

She turned her head away, "I'm tired of losing."

"So stop losing," I snapped, "Grow up. Stop being a little bitch."

She looked at me, her eyes wide.

"No, I'm not going to coddle you any longer," I snapped, "I am meant to be the voice in your head. I am your strength, your venom. I am the bullets to your gun but I'm just garbage without you! So grow the fuck up. No one else gets to retreat into the back of their mind and hide. So why do you?"

"I'm not hiding," she snapped.

I laughed, "Yes you are."

"I am not!" she snarled, lunging forward.

I let her tackle me to the ground, and when she straddled me, I grinned. We stared at each other, then we smiled. Yet again we had found common ground. We both knew it was time for her to return, and she had enough time off.

"I've missed them," she whispered.

I nodded, "I know."

"Damn," she sighed, "I don't want to face reality."

And yet, it was time.

Short chapter because I felt this needed to be it's own piece from the last chapter but it doesn't really fit in with the next chapter. Don't worry! Next update coming Monday :)
