"My cousin asked for your number." Ace said during breakfast the day after. We had to be at the airport before lunch so we still got time. Most of the people had already left except for their friends. We had our last dinner yesterday at the hotel and we played games. It was fun but I couldn't keep the thoughts out of my head.

"Are you talking to me?" Cara asked, sipping on her orange juice.

"Yeah. He says you look like a model." Ace chuckled. "I didn't give it to him though, I know you guys are together." He added, glancing at me.

For how long, though?

I still didn't know what was going on between us. We hadn't talked since yesterday after she told me the reason why she didn't want to have children. I told her to explain to me why but she wouldn't tell me. After that, it was all awkward glances, and small talk in our room. She seemed mad for some reason and I was freaking out because I really didn't know if we were breaking up or not. That topic had really been a breaking point for us, but as I told her, if I didn't have kids... I knew at some point I would regret it. And I couldn't do that to her. If she didn't want them, maybe we were not right for each other.

"You should start modeling." Martina added. "You're tall enough, right?" She asked glancing at Riley.

"Why are you asking me? Of course she's tall, I'm a smurf beside you all." She scoffed.

We all laughed, Luca kissing her temple.

"I told her a million times-"

"Where are you guys going for your honeymoon?" Cara asked, cutting me off.

Okay. If she didn't want me to talk, then so be it.

My idea of getting our plane seats together seemed like the worst I had ever had now.

Thank god I got my earbuds so I could listen to music or some postcads. Cara didn't, and she didn't stop fidgeting and glancing at me.

"You want one?" I asked her, showing her one.

She shook her head. "I can't think when I'm listening to music."

Cara was so different from me. I remember in school I couldn't even concentrate if I wasn't listening to something.

Her comment kept me thinking, though. She wanted to think. Was she contemplating breaking up with me? Would we have a talk when we arrived?

"You're all so quiet." Luca said as he drove back from the airport.

"We're tired, Luca." Riley said, squeezing his hand.

"Hey." Cara frowned when she realized we were almost at my place. "You're not dropping me off at home?"

"Uhm..." Luca scratched the back of his head. "I thought you'd stay here. If you want me to turn-"

"It's okay." I sighed. "I'll drive you."

Cara glanced at me quickly. "I just- I want to see my family."

I pressed my lips together, looking out the window. "Yeah, I get it."

We went down to the garage, put Cara's suitcase in the trunk of my car and made our way towards her house. I was really tired and a little irritated that things were still left untalked.

"Nico." She said when we entered her neighborhood. "I- Uhm..."

"Cara, I know I've been a little harsh on you, if you need time or if you need a break, I'll totally understand." I glanced at her out of the corner of my eye, the lights were already on, dinner time almost there.

She frowned, shaking her head. "No. I don't need time. I..." she took a deep breath. "I want to explain myself. I- I've had a really hard childhood, especially at school. It was hard for me to comprehend things and it was hard for people to understand me, too. I always saw things differently." She sighed. "I'm afraid my kids would get that from me. I don't want them to suffer. I know how much my teachers and my mom suffered, too. It's-"

I stopped the car. "What are you doing?" Cara asked, placing a hand on her heart. "You can't stop here."

I ignored her and turned around to face her. There was nobody in the street. "Cara, I'll be the luckiest man in the world if my kids' personality is half as incredible as yours."

"You don't know how hard it is for a parent-"

"Cara. I don't care. We'll do it together. I know we can. You know how it is, no one better than you could do it. I don't ever want to hear you say those things about yourself, okay?"

Cara pressed her lips together, fidgeting in her seat. Her eyes were watery, I knew she was emotional.

"Can I give you a hug?" She asked.

"Of course you can give me a hug." I breathed out, not able to fight my smile.

"I thought you were mad all this time." She said, wrapping her arms around my neck and holding me tight. "You know I love children, but I... but I always had that fear. I wouldn't want anything more than to have them with you, but I'm scared."

"It's okay to be scared. I am, too." I caressed her hair, pressing my lips against her neck.

She sniffed before chuckling, the sound warming my heart. "I just hope you know I'm still too young."

"I know." I laughed. "You're my bébé."

She pulled apart, wiping her face with her arm. "I hate being awkward around you."

"We needed a little bit of time-"

Someone honked, startling us. "Oh my god."

I groaned and started the engine again, driving back to Cara's house. Just when I parked in front of it, Justin and the twins, came running towards my car, Sandro following and falling a few times.

Cara laughed and looked at me biting her lips, opening the door right after. "Hey, guys!"

"Cara!!"

"We missed you!"

"Cawa!" Sandro followed.

I got out of the car, opening the trunk. When the twins spotted me, they also came running and crashed against my legs. Justin was only affectionate with people he really knew, so he just waved at me from the distance.

"Next time, we're coming with you!" Oscar said.

"Did you see Claudia and Morgan?" Oli asked.

"Did you bring us something?"

"Pizza?" They both said at the same time. I opened my mouth, not knowing what to say.

Cara laughed. "I brought pasta. Do you want me to make it for dinner?"

"Yay!"

Cara glanced back at me. "You staying?"

Just then, Brandon came outside, his hand over his heart. "Oh my god! This kid is gonna give me a heart attack, I couldn't find him!"

He walked over to us. "Hey, guys." He opened his arms and hugged Cara, taking Sandro from her arms right after. He then approached me and shook my hand. "How was the trip?"

"So long. But it was beautiful, god, I wished you could've all been there." Cara sighed in content.

"Me, too." Oscar said dreamily.

"One day." Brandon laughed.

"I brought pasta." Cara said, pointing to her suitcase. I pushed it forward as I handed her the crutch. "You didn't have anything prepared, right?"

Brandon chuckled. "What do you think? Mom has already left."

"Okay, then come on." She gestured for me to come inside.

I guess I was staying.

"We rearranged the bedrooms." Brandon said.

"Oh." Cara frowned, though her eyes showed it was a pleasant surprise. "Why?"

"I found a place. Sandro and I are moving out on Thursday."

"Oh." She pouted, grabbing Sandro's little hand from beside her. "That's great."

"It's a one bedroom apartment but it's nice."

Ben nodded, his mouth full. "It's so cool, it has two floors."

"I can't wait to see it." She smiled. "So how did you guys rearrange the rooms?"

"You're sleeping in mine." Brandon told her. "Justin will take your bed."

"I'm gonna have a double bed?" She glanced at me, her smile wide.

"I could stay here." I said softly, pursing my lips and looking at Brandon, testing the waters.

He pointed at me. "Don't make me regret leaving."

I laughed. "She's still sleeping with me at my place."

"Please, can we change the subject? She's my sister and the images in my head are disgusting." Ben said.

We all laughed, but Emmett, who shook his head. "You're growing up so fast. Tell me more about the trip." He tapped my hand with one of his kind smiles.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Justin clung to my shirt. "I can't let him on the bed if he doesn't let go." I chuckled.
"He's afraid of falling." Cara whispered. She approached me and slowly opened his little fingers one by one. Justin frowned in his sleep but took a deep breath after I let him on the bed.
I smiled. I became so fond of this little one.
"I wished you could stay." Cara sighed when we got out of the room.
"I gotta work tomorrow either way." I pursed my lips. "I can come after work if you like?"
"Yeah." She smiled sadly. "I start rehab on Tuesday. I need to start thinking what to do with my life."
I cupped her cheeks and kissed her forehead. "We'll figure it out."
Cara walked me to the door and I closed my eyes as the warm breeze of the summer hit my cheeks. I wrapped my arms around her, placing soft kisses all over her face. "I'm gonna call my mom." I said before kissing her lips quickly.
Cara gave me a small smile. "I'm glad."
I shrugged tiredly. "We'll see about that. I'll tell you all about it tomorrow. I have a weird feeling."
"Bad?" She frowned.
"I don't know."
