where are you?

I thought about ignoring it. How many times did I run away just to crawl back to him after one message like this?

I glanced back at the other side of the bed. My sister Camille slept peacefully lying on her side.

Three missed calls.

Biting my lips pensively, I grabbed my phone from the bedside table once again.

I'm sorry baby please come back

I'm sorry. That's what he always said. I'm sorry for yelling at you, I'm sorry for breaking that lamp, I'm sorry for raising my hand...

But.

But I don't like that new friend of yours, I don't like that you put on so much make up, that skirt is too short, I don't like you going out without me...

And then.

I love you. You're the only thing that I have and you know I'm too

What would I do without him? I didn't have any friends, my sister was a married woman with two kids who lived happily in this big house. She didn't need my problems. My parents died in a car accident when I was fifteen and I had even lost my job.

I needed to pay my college bills, I was about to start physical therapy school. However, one day a costumer complained about my work in the restaurant. I didn't even have the chance to see their face to apologize, they fired me almost instantly.

My boyfriend was kind enough to take me in his apartment. His family was wealthy and well-known in town and he knew I got nowhere else to go. He paid for my food, my things... but I stopped studying. I couldn't make him pay for that.

He loved me, I knew that. He was just a little complicated sometimes.

Sighing, I got out of bed and slipped into my white sneakers. Trying not to wake my sister up, I grabbed my things and put on his big sweatshirt.

Tell me where you are, I'll go pick you up

Closing the door slowly behind me, I walked towards the stairs, passing my nephew's bedroom by.

I never wanted him to know where Camille lived, it was my safe place when things got a little troubled.

Mincing past the couch where my sister's husband was slightly snoring, I went towards the front door.

Did I really want to do this?

I walked fast, not wanting to think too much about it. I wanted to think I didn't have any other options.

This time would be different.

I stopped in my tracks and glanced around. It was dark and deserted. And cold. God, so damn cold. Grabbing my phone from the front pocket of my sweatshirt, I searched for recent calls.

"Riley, baby. I was so worried, where are you?"

I took a big breath.

"I'm at the gas station near Guildhouse street."

I know it's not much, but what do you think so far?

How do you think Luca would make an appearance in the story?

What about Riley's personality, how do you think she would be?
