I discovered Luca had three stages when he was drunk. I still hadn't seen the last one, but I could imagine where it ended.

The first one was the one I was used to see. He got all calm and peaceful. His usual nerves turning down until he became a whole different person. His spontaneity and craziness disappeared and I was so used to him being the other way around, that I didn't know if I liked it.

I saw glimpses of the second one here and there, but never in all its splendor. All of a sudden, he would have a huge peak of energy. It was like normal Luca but multiplied by ten.

Things he liked to do when he was in this phase?

He liked to embarrass me. Giving me a lap dance in front of everyone, jumping on the couch, singing so loud that people would ask him to shut the fuck up.

Nicely, of course.

He was also incredibly affectionate, more than usual if that was even possible. I didn't care at all, I was like that myself, until it arrived to the point where it was scary. He kissed me and said some things to me that seemed like he was saying goodbye. Almost as if he was gonna die.

"Where were you?" He asked after entering the kitchen.

"I was just having some water. Someone has to take care of the other." I smirked, turning to look at him.

Luca took a step forward and pulled me into an embrace, nudging his nose against my neck. "You always take care of me. What am I gonna do when you're not around?" He asked in a childish tone.

So young and he was already killing me.

I chuckled and patted his back. "You can always call me. I'm not that far."

"Yeah." He sighed. "You're right."

He pulled away, giving me a light kiss on my neck before staring at me mischievously.

"What."

"There's this new dance I want you to learn."

I scoffed and dodge him, walking towards the door. "Over my dead body."

"Come on, Riley." He whined, stretching out the words, grabbing me by the waist and pulling me towards him again.

"Find anyone else, Luca. I hate dancing." I stated, driving my hand to his cheek as he leaned his chin on my shoulder.

"Who am I supposed to do it with? Ace?" He chuckled thinking about it. "There's a part where one picks up the other."

"Then you get a good work out too. 2x1. You're so lucky." I smiled tightly, tapping his cheek twice before untangling his arms off my waist and stepping outside.

"You're so mean!" I heard him shout behind me.

I chuckled as I shook my head.

He's such a kid.

My eyes hurt due to all the smoke inside the apartment. I knew Ace and Martina didn't allow people to smoke inside and even so, people still did it.

Everything got a little out of control. I actually smelled something that definitely wasn't cigarettes. Unfortunately I had smoked too much in my life to even distinguish the different tobacco brands.

People were all over the place. The place was crowded. I was pretty sure there were more people than what they were initially invited. Couples in the terrace, in the couch doing whoever knows what. I was helping Martina clean all the mess as the night went by. She didn't wanna end the party since it was Ace's birthday and the boys were actually having a great time. They were playing games and laughing like chimpanzees.

I could feel once or twice that she was in the burst of tears when something dropped to the floor or something got stained. I knew they both worked really hard to have that apartment and I could understand how painful was to see it like that. This party had definitely not been a great idea.

Although, I could somehow understand her. She loved that guy to the core and I could see how her eyes softened when he smiled at her from the distance or told her a really stupid anecdote that had just happened.

For him, it was all worth it.

I was picking some cups and putting them in a trash bag when I stiffened and stopped right away. I wasn't drunk. I wasn't even tipsy. I glanced at Ace's group of friends. I glanced at Martina.

"Have you seen Luca?"

She frowned and looked at the guys too. Aiden doing the gesture of fucking someone from behind and the rest laughing hard.

Of course he would do that.

"Actually, it's been a while since I don't see him."

Fuck.

My heart came up to my throat in an instant, concerned washed all over me. He was really drunk when I last saw him. I tried to make him stop and he seemed to listen, but now I didn't know anymore.

"I- I'll be right back." I muttered. My eyes wandered the place as I scanned every single corner of the room. He was not in here. I would notice him. I decided to walk to the hallway where people were also starting to go, even though it was one of the rules not to go in there.

I glanced inside the only two bedrooms that were in there and he was not there. The start of what looked like a threesome going on in one of them.

My feet drove me straight to the bathroom door in Ace and Martina's bedroom. I knocked.

Nothing.

I knocked again. This time harder.

Nothing.

I tried to open the door to no avail. Shit, it was locked from the inside. Something inside me was sure. He was in there. What if something bad had happened to him?

I grabbed my phone from my pocket and searched for Martina's number. Thankfully, even though her phone was always in silent, she picked up.

"What's wrong? Where are you? Don't tell me they've broken som-"

"Luca's locked inside your bathroom." I said quickly.

"What?"

"He doesn't respond, he's-" I shook my hands quickly. "I just know he's in there, please I need help, I can't open it."

"I'm coming."

Thirty seconds after, Martina, Ace and Aiden appeared through the door.I couldn't even talk. I was so scared my skin felt cold. My heart was beating so fast and so hard, I could feel it in my ears.

Ace licked his lips and stepped closer. Even if his face didn't show it, I could see the concern in his eyes. He tried to open the door just as I did, but he couldn't do it.

"Step aside." Said Aiden before taking a big breath.

"What are you-" Martina muttered just as he gathered momentum and kicked at the door. It opened with a loud sound as it hit the wall.

Just as I feared, Luca lay unconscious on the floor.

I ran towards him, my hands moving uncontrollably, trying to touch every single part of his face and chest. He was covered in vomit and water. I still couldn't speak, my tongue felt as if it just weighted like a ton of bricks. I felt the tears running down my cheeks.

I glanced at Martina and saw her already talking on the phone. My body felt numb as Aiden picked me up from the floor and took me to the bedroom again. I tried to fight it but I couldn't. Ace was already on the floor with Luca, tapping lightly on his face.

My heart made a somersault as I heard Luca mumble incoherent things. He was awake.

I ran towards him and kneeled on the floor beside him. "Luca, baby. It's me. Talk to me."

Ace was trying to lie him down on his side.

"I just... I just wanna sleep."

"He's having an alcohol intoxication." Ace explained. He wasn't talking very well himself. "I'm just putting him on his side in case he throws up."

"The paramedics are coming." Martina informed hanging up. "I'll go tell everyone that the party is over."

Luca started to gag, his eyes wrinkling due to the effort.

I winced as I watched his body trying to eliminate what wasn't good. He didn't achieve it, and I caressed his face as I stared at him complaining of the pain.

"It's okay, Luca." I whispered. "They're on their way."

"He'll be fine. He had an ethylic coma. They just injected him vitamins." Ace explained after he got out of the hospital room. "He's awake. We're taking him home after they tell us so."

Martina nodded. I just breathed hard, trying to calm myself.

"How did you guys get here?" He asked. He came in the ambulance with Luca.

"Uber." Martina replied, letting Ace wrap an arm around her shoulders. She looked at him with a motherly look. "You should go home, you've drunk a lot too."

"I'm fine." He said, stepping back to sit on a chair. She followed him, sitting down beside him and letting him lean his head on her shoulder. I waited beside the door.

"Can- can I go inside?"

"He'll be out in a couple minutes. It's better if you wait in here."I nodded. Sensing my worried state, he added. "Alcohol poisonings are really common, Riley. He'll be fine, he just needs to rest. He'll have the worst hangover tomorrow, but that's it." He added with his eyes already closed.

"It's not that that I'm worried about."

"What is it?" Martina asked stroking Ace's hair.

"I'm-"

"Here's your coffee." Aiden arrived from my left, taking a sip of his cup. He handed the other to Martina. Taking the bottle of water that was between his arm and ribs, he gave it to Ace. "This is for you."

"Thanks." Martina added for him when the other just nodded.

"Are you sure you don't want anything?" Aiden asked me. "I can go back, there are snacks and all."

I shook my head. "I just wanna go home."

"What were you saying?" Martina asked me.

"Nothing."

Just then, the door opened. A middle aged nurse grabbing Luca by the bicep. "You're the girlfriend?" He asked. I nodded eagerly. "You got him wrapped around your little finger, young lady. He hasn't stopped talking about you."

I managed to gave him a little smile but only because Luca's eyes were open and looking at me embarrassedly. He looked terribly pale, as if all the blood had been drained out from his face.

"Make him drink a lot of water and let him sleep."

I nodded once again. Aiden helped Luca walk, since it looked as if he was still super drunk.

We all got out of there and got into a 7 seater Uber. Luca wouldn't stop looking at me and I wondered what the hell was he thinking.

When I was beside him in the back seats, his head on my lap, he pouted. "I'm sorry Riley." He still slurred the words. "I'm pathetic."

"Don't say that." I told him caressing his cheek. "You're not."

His eyes got all watery. "My butt hurts."

The whole car started laughing and I couldn't help but chuckle too. "Yeah?"

"Yes. And the worst thing is that a guy nurse saw my butt." He frowned and whispered, as if telling me a secret. "I think he liked it."

"Well, you have a nice butt, Luca." I gave him a little smile.

"I know." He sighed. "I'm just- I'm just going to take a little nap, okay?"

"Okay."

The only question that crossed my mind was, what had he so worried that he felt the need to drink that much?

"Don't- don't go anywhere." He added before closing his eyes.

I stared at him with a frown, my fingers wandering his hair. "I won't."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"My head." I heard Luca grumble from the bathroom. I glanced at the bed and saw his rubbing his eyes.
I approached him with a pill and a glass of water. "Here. Take this."
I just came from Martina's place to help them clean up the mess. Thank god Luca was still asleep when I arrived. I took a long shower and changed into some baggy and comfy Luca's clothes. I was just brushing my hair when the beast roared.
"What happened yesterday?" He said after gulping the whole glass. "How much did I drink for fuck's sake?"
"You don't remember?" I asked.
"I don't remember shit."
"You had an alcohol intoxication. We had to bring you to the hospital."
"No fucking way." He said opening his eyes a little wider, all that his tired and hungover state allowed him. I nodded as I twisted my mouth. He lay back on the bed again and took a pillow to cover his face. "I'm fucking pathetic. Please leave me, break up with me. I don't deserve you."
"That's funny." I chuckled. "Because last night you were fucking obsessed over the fact that I could leave you."
"I was?" He asked, discovering a frown in his brow when he took the pillow out of his face.
"You kept repeating 'don't go anywhere.'" I added mimicking his voice.
He frowned deeper and averted his gaze. "God, I'm so fucking embarrassed."
"I'm not surprised, Luca." I said a little more serious now. "You didn't stop drinking and you even smoked some weed-"
"I've never drugged myself." He stated firmly.
"Well, maybe you don't remember, but you did. With Ace. You even told me."
Luca stared at me as if I was crazy. "And where the hell did I get it?" He shook his head. "Forget it, I'm going to take a shower."
Turning my head around, I stared back at him. "Are you mad at me?"
"What? No."
"Then why are you so distant?"
"I'm- I'm just a little overwhelmed, okay?" I need to be alone." He breathed out.
"I don't know why the hell did bothered to take care of you during the whole night." I huffed, getting up from the bed. I didn't even bother to collect my things, I just took my phone and walked towards the living room, hoping Aiden would drive me home.
"Riley!" Luca shouted behind me. "Shit, my head. Riley, I'm sorry!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Luca didn't try to contact me for the whole day. And I was glad. When he was feeling all weird I hated the way he acted around myself.

Why was he like that? Why was he constantly pushing the people he loved away?

My phone buzzed on the counter. I took it slowly, already sensing who it was. It's like my phone vibrated differently when Luca was texting.

Voilà.

I just woke up again

That's it? This guy's gonna make me crazy one day, I swear.

Good for you

I texted back.

Now he was calling. "Yes." I blurred out.

"I was still writing, you know? I was just gonna say that I needed some rest and thank you for taking care of me."

"Did you enjoy your time alone?"

He stayed quiet for a few seconds until I heard him sigh. "We need to talk."

"I'm sorry, am I annoying you already? Because I can-"

"Riley."

"What?" I asked, a little too loud.

"We need to talk."

Hello guys! Here's another chapter! Hope you liked it!

Funny story, I actually have a friend who got an ethylic coma and he kept crying after we came back from the hospital during the whole night because his butt cheek hurt due to the injection. It was hilarious, he's a big guy.

So. Thoughts about it?
