Yoongi's POV

She'd turned it into something silly, every day he got a selfie from her with "still alive" written with it. Sometimes they were cute ones, sometimes silly, some serious, a few were with Mark. Those ones bothered him but he wasn't sure why. Was it cuz she usually had a genuine-seeming smile in them?

But...why would that bother him? He found himself looking more and more forward to her selfies. She didn't send them at the same time every day and several times he caught himself mindlessly checking his phone and watching it for her text.

At first it was just selfies but eventually they were texting too. Just mundane stuff but why did he so look forward to those conversations? Her written Korean was developing rapidly and their conversations were better over text than in person. He told himself he was just interested in helping her continue to develop her language skills.

Today he sent her a selfie in response to hers. She sent him a smiley face in return. He starred at his phone for a minute. He really wanted...he didn't know why but he really wanted to talk to her.

"Are you busy tonight?"

"Just usual stuff. Weh?"

"Can I call you?"

"Why, what's wrong?" This text came fast.

"Nothing." She didn't reply for awhile.

"Yeah you can."

"What picture did she send you today?" Jimin asked, coming up behind him. Yoongi showed him. "Awww, cute-uh. You know, hyung, if you had to marry someone at least she's beautiful." Yoongi felt a knot in his stomach as Jimin patted his back.

"Hello?"

"Hi." He said, settling back on the couch. He was in his hotel room.

"What's up?"

"I just wanted to see how you were doing and tell you about my day." He said in Korean.

"Okay." So he did. And it felt good to talk to her.

"I missed some parts but I understood some." She said in English when he was done. He was out of things to say, he felt tongue-tied. But he didn't want to hang up. "I'm taking a break tomorrow. Mark's taking me to Suwon to see the wall." That unsettled him. He didn't know why. He ended the call.

The other members were starting to notice a change in him.
