Yoongi's POV

After that, she sent him a short text every day but that was it. His worry didn't go away. And he worried about being worried. He couldn't get Hoseok's words out of his head.

When they finally arrived back in Seoul he didn't even take the time to grab his luggage and rushed to the apartment.

Both she and Mark looked up in surprise when he entered. Mark gave him a nod.

"Sir, welcome..."

"Get out." Yoongi said more harshly than he intended. They both just gave him a look. He walked over, grabbed Mark by the arm, dragged him to the door, and pushed him out of the apartment. The door slammed. Normally he would not touch another person like that but he'd waited weeks and he couldn't take it anymore.

"What are you..."

"Why didn't you respond to my texts?!" Even he was surprised at how loud his voice was. "Do you know how worried I've been?!" His satoori was broken and she had a look of confusion on her face as she tried to follow his fast Korean. He grabbed her wrists. "How am I supposed to know what's going on when you don't tell me?!" He stopped suddenly, realizing how hard he was gripping her and that he was still yelling. He dropped her wrists as quickly as he'd grabbed them and took a step back. She had a look of total shock on her face. Why couldn't she...why had she...he felt so overwhelmed. He took a step forward again and she tensed, expecting to be grabbed again, but he slid his arms around her shoulders and squeezed her to him. "Do you know how worried I was?" He whispered. She didn't move for a couple seconds, her back tense. But then...

She relaxed slightly and he felt her arms slide around his upper back.

"Jongmal miahnhamnida." She said softly. "I wasn't trying to worry you. I've just been going through a lot." He relaxed too for a second and then tensed as he realized he was holding her and they were close. He coughed awkwardly and dropped his arms, stepping back. He couldn't believe he'd lost his temper like this.

"Sorry." He avoided her eyes. She folded her arms across her chest. She wasn't looking at him either. "What happened?" Anything to move on from this uncomfortable feeling.

"Um...your uncle wanted to meet with me." She said in Korean. But then she pulled out her phone and typed up what happened. She felt too tired and flustered to remember all her grammar lessons and communicate everything she wanted. She translated it and handed him her phone.

He speed read it, understanding the jist.

"It's a small win. Maybe I can do more. Get us out of this." The odds were low but why did he have such a visceral, internal reaction to those words?

"What did you tell him?"

"It doesn't matter." She said quickly and took her phone away from him. "It's just..." She bit her lip thoughtfully. "It scared me." She admitted. "it was hard to stand up to him. And it...it brought a lot of thoughts up." Her voice trailed off. He waited to see if she would continue but she didn't. She looked lost in thought. He coughed again and went to the front door to pick up his travel bag. He checked, Mark had left.
