"I'm freezing" Kayla says shivering.

We've been at the waterfall for maybe two hours.and it's starting to get colder because it's getting darker out.

"I think it's good to call it a night." Ryan says as we all head back to our clothes.

"Ryry can you give me a ride home?" Savannah says slowly putting her jeans back on.

Gag.

"Sorry Sav. I have to get home for dinner. Ask Kyle you guys live right next to eachother." Ryan chuckles.

"Oh sure." She says obviously defeated.

I quickly get back into my clothes, which are now wet from my undergarments .

We make our way to the parking lot, I'm about to get into Quins car when I hear my name.

I turn to see Ryan looking at me.

"Want a ride home?" He asks.

I look to Quin who has a grin in her face.

I roll my eyes.

"Sure." I say grabbing my things.

I walk to his truck and hop in.

"You're not taking me on a surprise date are you?" I chuckle placing my bag beside his.

He laughs.

"No, i really have to get home for dinner. Maybe next time." He smirks.

As we pull out I make eye co tact with a very angry Savannah.

I avert my eyes to my lap and stay like that the whole ride home.

"I'm glad you came with us." Ryan says parking his car in his driveway.

"Yeah me too. It was fun." I say opening the door and grabbing my bag.

"Would you like a ride tomorrow?" He asks meeting me behind his car.

"Sure, that would be great." I say with a small smile.

"Alright cool." He grins madly.

"Everyone is coming over for breakfast tomorrow around 6:30. So just walk over then after we can go." He says.

"Okay, see you tomorrow." I say awkwardly.

He looks like he wants to say more but doesn't so take my chance and walk away.

As soon as I walk in the door, i am faced with an angry Anna Maria.

"Where the hell were you Mary Grace? " She shouts.

Shit.

"I went out with some friends afterschool. I forgot to text you." I say.

"What friends? You're new here? I was sitting outside your school for a whole hour! I almost called the police. You're so lucky mom and Charles aren't here."

"Okay, one I met some friends. Two I'm sorry and three where is mom and Charles?" I ask.

"They took Sarah to some boy band concert. They were selling tickets at the local store." Anna  Maria replies.

"Oh, we'll I'm going to do my homework."  I say taking a step to the side.

"Alright well where's your bookbag?" Anna Maria asks.

I tilt my head in confusion listing my bag up.

"Thats not yours." She says pointing to the bag.

I look at the bag in my hand and sure enough it isn't my backpack.

Instead it's a black Nike bookbag.

I groan.

Ryan's.

"I'll be back." I mumble opening the door.

"Where are you going?" Anna Maria shouts as I walk to Ryan's house.

"Getting my bag back." I shout back.

I make it to Ryan's door and knock on his door.

As soon as my knuckles leave the door, it is swung open revealing a tall yet curvy woman.

"Yes?" She asks wiping her hands in her apron.

"Uh, hi is Ryan home? I accidentally took his bookbag by mistake. He has mine." I say showing her the bag.

The woman tilts her head at me studying my face with a small smile.

I blush because I feel awkward that this woman is staring at me.

"I'm sorry for staring dear, you just look so familiar." She says smiling.

I just shrugg.

"Mom, who's at the door?" I hear Ryan's voice yell.

"A blonde girl, and no it's not Savannah!" The woman who is Ryan's mom chuckles.

I then hear jogging coming down the footsteps.

Ryan then appears next to his mother.

God, he looks just like her.

"Sup Mary?" He says leaning in the door frame.

"I think I took your bag by accident." I say with a smile.

"Are you sure you just couldn't wait to see me again?" He smirks earning a playful slap from his mother then she walks away.

"Not the case. I just wanted to do homework and found your bag instead of mine." I say handing him the bag.

"You could've done my homework." He says giving me a toothy smile.

"Eh." I say and he laughs.

"Well come in, your bag is in my room. Let me go grab it." He says leaving me.

I look around his house I  and I can definitely tell his mom decorated.

At his old house when we were younger his mom had the house decorated all browns and peachy colors, which is what it likes she we to for here. Making it seem really homey and warm.

I then see some pictures hanging on the wall beside me and look at them.

They're school pictures of Ryan and a girl that looks a little like him through out the years.

"Who are you?"

I turn to see the girl from the photos looking at me.

She has long dark hair, and big brown almond shaped eyes. She's wearing a tank croptop and skinny jeans.

"I'm a friend of Ryan's" I say.

She looks at me for a second, then nods.

"You look familiar. What's your name?" She says.

Shit, they'll probably figure out who I am.

I go to speak when Ryan appears.

"Santana, when did you get home?" Ryan says pulling the girl into a hug.

"I've been home little bro. But I met up with some friends just a while ago." The girl I'm guess is Santana says.

"Oh cool, moms making her famous rice tonight." Ryan says and Santana dabs.

"I love that stuff!" She says.

"Please, don't dab every again." Ryan says and I smile.

"Hater." She says beginning to walk away.

"Oh and by the way she's way prettier than that hoe Savannah!"  She calls from a different room.

"I'm guessing your family isn't a big fan or Savannah." I laugh.

He smiles.

"Not really." He says handing me my bag.

"If you don't mind me asking, what's your nationality?" I ask tilting my head.

He chuckles.

"I'm Brazilian, Italian and very little Japanese."

Whoop. There it is.

"Ah nice." I say nodding.

"Well I should probably get going."

"Yeah would want you to miss doing all your homework for the second day of school." He smirks.

"Haha. I have syllabuses." I say pointing  at him.

"Sure." He says opening the door for me.

When he opens the door a man around Ryan's height walks in.

"Teddy." The man says patting Ryan on his shoulder.

"Hi Dad." He says.

Woah.

He looks nothing like his dad.
Well maybe a little but his dad has way lighterskin, maybe a little darker than mine and light brown hair.

Definitely the Italian factor.

"Who is this son?" He asks looking at me with a smile.

"This is my friend Mary. She just moved here." Ryan says sort of proud.

Ryan's dad shakes my hand.

"Nice to meet you Mary, my name is James Ryan." He says with a warm smile.

I knew that.

"Nice to meet you Mr. Ryan." I say with nod.

Just then Ryan's mom appears.

"I'm sorry, i feel so rude I never introduced myself to you. My name is Juliana." She says giving me a tight hug.

"Mary." I say with a smile.

"Dont kill her mom." Ryan says.

"Oh shush. Would you like to stay for dinner Mary? I'm making Spanish rice, pork, mashed potatoes and mac salad." She says as Mr. Ryan wraps his arm around her.

They look very good together, though they seem like complete opposites. Just how I remember them.

"Though that sounds absoultely amazing, i should get home. But thank you for asking." I say with a small smile.

"Well maybe another time yes?" His mom says with  smile.

"Definitely." Ryan answers looking at me.

"Will you be joining us for breakfast tomorrow?" Ryan's father asks.

"I think so." I nod looking at Ryan who is smiling.

"Well I'll see you tomorrow then. It was great meeting you Mary. "

"It was nice meeting the both of you. Have a good night." I say slipping out the door.

Ryan follows.

"They seem to like you." He says leaning on his door.

"Really?" I say sling my bag over my back.

Ryan nods.

"Well sorry for taking your bag. I'll see you tomorrow." I say backing up.

"Wait." He says getting closer.

"Yes?" I say.

"Earlier you called me Teddy Bear." He says.

My stomach drops.

Well this is the end. Everyone is going to find out that I'm Mary Grace Kosak.

"Yes what about it?" I say as my heart beats faster.

He looks like he's thinking but the shakes his head.

"Nevermind. I just used to have a close friend who used to call me that." He says looking at me.

"Oh." I say relieved.

"Wait, why does everyone call you Ryan instead of Teddy?" I ask.

He shruggs.

"When i younger, i guess I wanted to hang with the 'it' crowd but I guess Teddy wasn't an 'it' name. So everyone started calling me Ryan." He says.

"Wow." I say looking at him.

"The things we do for popularity." He says shaking his head.

"Not worth it." I say.

"You're right. I lost one of my best friends trying be someone I'm not." He say looking me back in the eyes.

I wonder if he's talking about me, or Mary Grace.

"Well, see you in the morning." I say walking away.

"Goodnight Mary." He calls.

I stop and look at him

"Goodnight Teddy."
