Hey guys so I managed to get another update in for this weekend!

I had a blast at prom! It was at the aquarium, and it was great. Someone asked me to post a picture but Wattpad hasn't been letting me post pictures anymore so I'll post it on my fan page and put the link in the comments below.

This chapter is also dedicated to onedirectionisheart, check out her story Me, myself, and the bad boy.

Anyway this chapter isn't super exciting, but it's a filler and the things in this chapter are mostly needed. Anyway I hope you guys enjoy! And I hope you all had a good weekend. Remember to vote and comment please!

Chapter forty-four

“Wake up!” Someone yelled in my ear. I groaned before rolling over. “Beautiful, get up!”

“Zane!” I yelled finally looking at him. “Go away!”

“But we’re alone!” He whined. “Everyone left.”

“What?” I said rubbing my face with my hands.

“They all went out for breakfast or something.” He said shrugging.

“Why didn’t they wake us up?” I said slowly getting out of bed.

“Because it’s twelve in the afternoon?” He said like it was obvious. “Just a guess.”

I shook my head before walking down the stairs and sure enough no one else was home. There was a note taped to the kitchen table.

‘You two slept in too long and we decided to go out and get some breakfast.’
-Your friends.

“Awesome.” I mumbled.

“So what now?” Zane askde while jumping up on the kitchen table.

“I’m not sure.”

“Well you know,” Zane said with a devious smile. “I have an idea.

It took us maybe an hour to get ready before we were hiding outside when their car pulled up. They had only taken one car which led me to believe that they had illegally crammed everyone in the small jeep.

I looked up at Zane who was carefully balanced in the tree that was on the edge of the yard. He gave me a thumbs up before pushing his sunglasses up his nose.

We both had on baggy black t-shirts, dark sunglasses, black streaks of war paint and black converse. He had on black khaki shorts while I had on short black jean shorts.

We both had two big water guns and one smaller water pistol. The rest we’d left lying out in the middle of the yard.

“What’s going on?” Hailey said squinting at the water guns.

I tried not to laugh from where I was hiding behind a big potted plant on the porch.

“Are those water guns?” Aaron asked as the rest of them grouped near the guns.

Zane made some tribal yell before jumping from the tree. He did a rather painful looking tuck and roll before standing on his feet. “Say hello to my little friends.” He said aiming both his water guns at our group of friends. They all looked at him with a mixture of shock and amusement. I pulled myself up onto the porch railing before doing a front flip off it. Cheerleading makes me seem so much cooler. “And my other friend.” Zane said motioning to me.

“Aloha.” I said nodding.

“You wouldn’t.” Brad said shaking his head.

“Oh but we would.” Zane said grinning.

We both pulled the triggers at the same time spraying them all with water.

Hailey screamed and ran behind the car for cover. Aaron and Nate lunged for some of the water guns on the ground.

Nate threw a gun to Brad while Aaron handed one to Kalina.

“Evasive maneuvers!” I yelled to Zane as we sprinted around the side of the house.

We raced across the backyard before running out the open gate to the beach. I could hear running footsteps behind us and I glanced back to see all our friends chasing us down.

I could see Zane looking around trying to think of a plan. He murmured something under his breath but I couldn’t hear him.

“What now?” I said as we continued running along the beach.

“Thinking!”

I skidded to stop and turned to face our friends. Zane stopped farther behind me and pointed his guns at them.

I pulled the trigger of one of my guns but nothing happened. I heard Hailey laugh as I tried the other one as well but was only met by the same results.

They were out of water.

“That’s a shame.” Brad said shaking his head, and I noticed that he was soaked in water.

“Usted es un gran problema.” Kalina said grinning.

Zane smirked back at her. “No hablo Inglés.”

Kalina laughed and I put my hand to my face. “You just said you don’t speak English.” She said returning his smirk.

“Right…” He sighed while seeming to mentally slap himself.

I dropped my two guns in the sand before pulling out the smaller water pistol from the back of my waistband.

“Let’s do this.” I said before we all started shooting at each other. In a matter of moments I was drenched with water and my water gun was out again. “Ok! Ok! I give up!” I said trying to cover my face from the water.

Nate dropped his gun as well before running towards me and throwing me over his shoulder. I laughed as he started spinning around in circles.

He dropped me in the sand and I landed on my back still laughing.

I heard everyone else drop down in the sand as well and we all just looked at the few clouds in the sky in comfortable silence.

****************

I ran my fingers through my hair later after dinner as I looked at all the options for flower ideas in yet another bridal magazine.

“You look pissed.” Aaron said while he leaned against the door frame.

“There are just so many options for flowers.” I said not looking away from the magazine. “Lilies, lilacs, white roses, red roses, there’s just so many….and honestly I could care less about flowers.”

“Get the red roses.” He said shrugging. “They’re classics.” He walked out of the room leaving me alone again.

I scooped up all my magazines and notes that I’d made before walking upstairs to mine and Nate’s room.

“Hey.” He smiled setting down his book as I sat next to him. I laid all of the papers out in front of me and he leaned closer trying to get a good look at everything. “What are you up to?”

“Looking at things for the wedding.” I said sheepishly.

“Did you decide on flowers yet?” Nate asked seeming amused and most likely remembered seeing me look at pictures of different flowers earlier.

“I was thinking red roses?”

He scrunched his eyebrows, thinking for a moment before replying. “I think white roses would be better.”

“I guess.” I said quietly and ignoring the fact that he had waved my choice aside.

The next week was spent with Nate and I trying to make more wedding plans since we wanted to have the wedding in less than two months.

The best place we could find to have the wedding on such short notice was a small church or Hailey’s house, which was technically my house as well, I just always called it hers since she owns it. Zane and I just pay rent.

Nate said the church would be better, but I insisted on an outside wedding. I pointed out that the back yard at Hailey’s house was huge and can hold a little more than a hundred people, and it would be August so the weather would be nice. Also it would be cheaper. I didn’t exactly want to rely on our parent’s money, even though that’s exactly what was happening.

He reluctantly agreed.

We’d chosen white rose bouquets and table center pieces. Nate’s dad knew a catering company that would bring white round tables and white wooden chairs along with whatever food we ordered. So we decided we would go with that. We just had to figure out who all was going.

“Well both of our families obviously.” Nate said scribbling down his father, mother and both of their parents, and his cousins and aunts and uncles as well. I didn’t know most of my family so I just told him to write down my grandmother and father. He wrote down a lot of his friends, and I noticed that the ones that had caused problems at dinner were written down.

“They better not cause problems.” I stated.

“They won’t.” He assured me.

He wrote down Kalina, Brad, Hailey and Zane as well. “And Aaron.” I said noticing that he hadn’t added him.

“Are you sure he’d want to go?” He said giving me a weird look.

“We’ll never know unless we invite him.” I pointed out. “Write down his mom and Zoe as well.” I said after a quick moment of thinking.

“Anyone we’re missing?”

“My friend Heather... and we could invite the rest of Zane’s band.” I said shrugging. “We could ask them to perform as well.”

He hesitated then cleared his throat. “Alright but maybe we could also get a classical band to play half the time as well?” I nodded deciding a compromise would be best. He shrugged before writing down ‘Zane’s band’. I rolled my eyes and laughed.

I named off a few of the people from the cheer team and they were added as well.

“I think I want to go back home to pick out a dress though.” I said after thinking about it.

“Oh?” He mumbled.

“Ya, Kalina and Hailey can fly back with me and we’ll be gone for…two days? Maybe three?”

“That sounds fine.”

“But don’t kill each other while we’re gone, ok?” I said eyeing him. He knew I meant him and Aaron.

He just smiled. “We would never dare.”

I smiled before coming to another conclusion. “I want Kalina and Hailey and my friend Heather to be my bride’s maids.” I said even though I thought that was pretty obvious.

“But which would be the maid of honor?”

“Shit…I didn’t think of that.” He laughed at me. “Well who’s going to be your best man?” I shot back at him.

“Zane probably.” He said shrugging.

“Wait…I just realized we don’t have a flower girl or a ring bearer yet.” I said realizing that neither of us had younger siblings, and I didn’t have any nieces or nephews either.

“I have two younger cousins we could use.” He offered. “Or if you want Zoe to be the flower girl, that’s fine too.”

“I think your cousins would work…I have a different idea for Zoe.” I smiled keeping that secret to myself.

*****************

I told Kalina and Hailey the next day that I wanted them to both be my maids of honor because I couldn’t choose one or the other. They both jumped up and down squealing for nearly two minutes before I got them to calm down.

I asked them if they’d be willing to go back home for a few days and go dress shopping with me. They both said yes instantly.

In the next two days after a long plane ride and a good night of sleep we were ready to go dress shopping. Hailey came in squealing as I was putting on my shoes.

“What?” I laughed.

“This came for you!” She said nearly shoving the envelope into my hands.

It was from the college Brad and I had auditioned for.

I looked at Hailey and Kalina before ripping open the envelope. I read it over quickly and practically threw myself into both of their arms.

“I got accepted!”

We all went into another squealing fest and it took us all a while to calm down again.

After we did manage to calm down we stopped by Brad’s and asked his mom if he had received a letter. He did so we took it with us and planned to give it to him the minute we got back.

“Ok, before we go to the bridal store can we stop somewhere?” I asked as I turned into my dad’s neighborhood.

Neither of them said no so I pulled up in between mine and Aaron’s house.

“Stopping by to say hi to your dad?” Kalina asked.

“Not quite.” I smiled. “I’ll be right back.”

Zoe opened the door and instantly broke out into a huge grin. “Hey Zoe.” I said smiling and dropping to my knees as she crashed into my arms.

“Sage!” She squealed.

“I have a question for you.” I said beaming as she pulled back.

“What?” She asked excitedly.

“I’m getting married and-“

“You are!” She yelled making me flinch and laugh. “Mommy and I always knew you and Aaron would get married!”

“Oh.” I said as my smile disappeared. “Zoe…Aaron and I aren’t getting married.”

“What?” She said looking heartbroken. “You won’t be my sister?”

“We can still be sisters.” I smiled while putting my hands on her shoulders. “In fact I love you so much that I want you to be a bride’s maid at my wedding.” I smiled.

“But who are you marrying if it’s not Aaron?”

“His name is Nate and he’s really nice. I think you’d like him.”

She crossed her arms and stuck out her lip. “I don’t know.” She said stubbornly.

“You know the brides maids get to go shopping with the bride.” I said trying to get her to agree.

She smiled a little. “To pick out the wedding dress?”

“Yeah.” I nodded smiling with her. “And there’s an engagement party, just for girls that the brides maids plan. Brides maids also get to wear really pretty dresses.”

Her smile grew before she jumped up and down. “Ok!”

I hugged her again. “I’m glad you said yes, Zoe.”

“Thanks for asking me, Sage.” She said as she tightened her arms around my neck.

“Is your mom around?” She nodded before dragging me into the kitchen.

I explained everything to her mom before asking if I could take Zoe dress shopping for the day. Her mom gave me a weird look when I mentioned that I was marrying Nate but she seemed glad the she and Zoe were invited. “You can come shopping with us if you’d be more comfortable with that.” I offered.

“No that’s ok.” She said shaking her head. “Just have her home by eight, ok?”

“Ok.” I said smiling. Zoe jumped back into my arms and I scooped her up as we waved goodbye to her mom. I walked back out to the car still holding Zoe. “Ready to go dress shopping?”

Hope you guys liked it! And like I said my prom picture will be on my fanpage and the link is posted here, and posted in the comments below.
