Ok guys here's another upload and I would just like to say if you're gonna start calling me names and say I 'ruined the book' just don't comment. I mean seriously? I am writing this. I'm sorry you don't like the choices I made but that's not your call. Also a lot of people pointed out that almost everyone prefers Aaron to Nate and they wondered why I would purposely choose the choice almost no one wanted. It's because if she chose Aaron THE BOOK WOULD END. I hope you all realize that if there was no love triangle there would be no story. I don't mind if you guys post that you want her with Aaron or whatever but please don't call me names and don't say I've ruined the story. Also I'm sorry if that choice made you stop reading this because I also got multiple messages saying that people couldn't read it anymore, and I'm sorry you feel this way. I hope you'll all keep reading.

Also sorry this chapter is short, I just wanted to stop it there.

Enjoy.

Chapter forty

I woke up the next morning with Nate lying next to me.

I quietly got up and threw on a pair of pink shorts and my short sleeved red Bazooka Bubble Gum t-shirt.

I left the room as silently as I could before tip toeing downstairs to make some breakfast.

I got myself a bowl of Honey Nut Cheerios before sitting down at the table.

I don’t regret sleeping with Nate but I wasn’t ecstatic like I had been after I slept with Aaron.

Maybe I wanted to feel loved like that again.

Or maybe I just did it out of spite because as much as I hated to admit it, I was mad that Aaron had taken Nadia to the dance.

Although I bet they had gone someplace and done the same thing Nate and I had done. In fact I didn’t doubt it.

I finished my cereal and had decided that I didn’t regret any of my decisions.

“Hey.” Zane said from the doorway making me jump. I smoothed down my hair and smiled. “Don’t bother.” He said holding his hand up. “I already saw your walk of shame.”

I let my mouth fall open. “That was not a walk of shame!” I protested. “I wasn’t sneaking out.”

“Of course not.” He said grinning. “It’s your house…you just snuck down to the kitchen.”

“So I wouldn’t wake anyone up.”

“Ok.” He said holding his hands up in defeat. “Whatever you say.”

I stood up shaking my head and was about to leave when I paused mid-step. “Hey wait.” I said turning back to him. “You snuck down here too didn’t you?” He paused looking over at me. “You’re on my ass about the walk of shame? Hypocrite!” I laughed.

“Ok now, mines not a walk of shame.”

“Well neither is mine.” I shot back at him.

“Ok.” He said nodding.

“Alright.”

“Wait.” He said scrunching his eyebrows. “So we’re both agreed that there is no shame walking, right?”

“Yes.” I laughed. “No shame walking.”

Later that day Kalina, Hailey and I went shopping for summer clothes since we were graduating in less than three weeks. The boys were somewhere in the mall probably looking at video games or something. Even Aaron was with us because Brad had invited him. However I told Nate not to say anything about last night.

He had looked rather hurt, but I didn’t want a fight to start.

At least that’s what I had said.

Truth be told…I just didn’t want Aaron to know. If he knew part of me might feel ashamed.

“Do you think I should get sparkly shorts?” Hailey said holding up a pair of silver high wasted shorts.

“You could wear them to a party.” I said shrugging.

“Fine.” She said before picking up a summer dress. “I’ll try them on if you try this on.” She said throwing the dress to me.

It was a spaghetti strap dress that came down to mid-thigh, it was light blue with white polka dots scattered all over it.

“Ok.” I said as we all found our way over to the dressing rooms.

I caught a glimpse of the boys farther back but I didn’t wave them over sense they’d be bored out of their minds with us.

I put my number on the dressing room door before closing it behind me. It was one of those doors that didn’t lock and you just had to hope no one walked in on you.

I sighed before stripping off my clothes and putting the dress on.

I turned sideways as I looked at my reflection. The dress showed off my small waist, and showed off what little curves I had.

I decided that I would buy it because who couldn’t use a few summer dresses?

I had just lifted the dress over my head when I heard the door open.

I spun around just as Aaron closed the door behind him.

“Hey.” He said grinning and leaning up against the wall.

“What are you doing here?” I shrieked as I tried to use the dress to cover myself.

He looked me up and down as his grin turned into a smirk. “It’s not like I haven’t seen that before.”

“Get out.” I snapped.

“Make me.” He said taking a step closer.

I rolled my eyes at him. “One this is the girl’s dressing room, two we’re not dating anymore, you can’t just walk in when I’m changing.”

“Maybe I didn’t know you were changing.” He said shrugging.

“What else would I be doing in a changing room?” I said glaring at him.

“Who knows?”

“You’re hilarious.” I said sarcastically.

“It’s one of my many charms.” He said flashing me a grin.

“You seem to be very good at it.”

“I’m good at lots of things.” He said giving me a knowing a look. I glared back at him saying nothing. “Or did you forget already?...I can remind you.” He said taking a step closer.

“Get out.” I sighed.

“Make me.” He said with his smirk still plastered on his face. I rolled my eyes again before reaching one hand out to shove him. He grabbed my hand and pulled me up against him. One of his arms wrapped around my waist while the other grabbed the back of my neck. He kissed me and I almost let myself kiss him back, but instead I shoved him away. The dress hit the floor as I used both my hands to push him away. “Told you I could remind you.” He said grinning.

I crossed my arms. “What’s wrong with you?”

“What do you mean?” He asked still grinning and looking like he knew exactly what I was talking about.

“You don’t normally act this. You were nice, you weren’t an ass.”

“Well I have no reason to be nice anymore.” He said backing towards the door. “I changed for one reason…and now that’s gone.” He opened the door and walked out leaving me by myself.

********************

After we were all done shopping we decided that catching a movie could be fun.

We’d decided on seeing The Host and we were all sitting spaced out from each other. Kalina and Brad were sitting in front of Nate and I to our left. Hailey and Zane were sitting in the way front and Aaron was sitting by himself somewhere behind us.

Half way through the movie I caught a glance of Kalina and Brad making out. I jokingly threw some Skittles at them and earned a nasty look from both of them. I smiled and waved before pointing to the movie.

A few moments later Nate excused himself to get more Twizzlers.

I sighed and leaned back in my chair just as I heard movement behind me. “What do you want?” I sighed.

“Does this seem familiar to you?” He whispered while gesturing to the movie screen.

The movie had a weird love triangle, or love square and I knew he was trying to link it back to when I hadn’t made a choice between him and Nate.

“If you mean you acting like a dick like half the aliens in this movie, then yes. It’s very familiar.”

I heard him laugh but he didn’t say anything else.

Near the end of the movie Nate grabbed my hand and intertwined our fingers. He leaned over and kissed my cheek.

Something crossed my mind then.

I fell in love with Aaron, fast and unpredictably. Because of that I got hurt. I didn’t fall for Nate right away but maybe I was learning to love Nate.

He leaned closer to kiss my lips but a bag of popcorn was thrust in between us. I looked back at a beaming Aaron. “Popcorn anyone?”
