Chapter five

"No." I laughed holding my hands up defensively.

"Oh come on Sage, it's just water." Aaron said stepping closer.

"I did not agree to go swimming; I agreed to help you give your dog his meds. Which by the way I'm angry you lied to me. You don't even have a dog!" I pointed out.

"Ya, but isn't swimming way more entertaining than giving a sick dog medication?" He laughed.

"It's cold." I stated pulling my black blazer closer to me.

"I can keep you warm." He said raising his eyebrows. I didn't say anything, I just smirked. "Ok." He said before stripping off his leather jacket and t-shirt.

"W-what are you doing?" I stuttered as I took in his toned muscles and model like six pack.

"Well I'm going swimming." He said with his signature smile. "And I don't know about you, but I don't swim in all my clothes."

"If you strip down naked I'm leaving." I said laughing.

"No you wouldn't." He said kicking off his shoes. "You wouldn't be able to resist looking." I scoffed at him as he removed his socks. "I've seen you staring at my abs for the last few minutes, don't think I don't notice." I was trying to find a way to get myself out of this situation but before I could think of anything Aaron spoke again. "So my shirts off...I think it's only fair that you take yours off now."

I laughed at him. "Really?" He nodded crossing his arms. I sighed and shook my head before removing my blazer and tossing it on the table. I crossed my arms in return.

"No no no." He said laughing and walking closer. "That's not fair; I took off my jacket and my shirt."

"Yes, but me taking off my shirt means more then you taking off yours." I said as he slowly lifted my necklace from around my neck.

He was leaning so close that his breath fanned across my face. I slipped off my black heels to put a few more inches between our faces. His hand brushed against my arm as he leaned closer and set my necklace on the table behind us. His eyes never left mine as his hand trailed down my arm giving me goose bumps before he slowly took off my bracelet. His hands played at the edge of my tank top, his eyes held a look that was asking permission.

I jokingly shoved him away before walking towards the pool. I stripped off my tank top before looking over my shoulder before smirking at him and jumping in the pool bra, jeans, and all.

I resurfaced and pushed my hair out of my face before turning and looking at Aarons astonished face.

"Red lace...classy." He said walking closer to the edge with his hands in his pockets. I glanced down remembering that I had worn my red lacey bra today. "You know I heard that girls that wear red are more open about having sex. Tell me Sage...are you open to having sex?"

"You'll never find out." I said smirking and swimming closer to the edge.

"What a shame; I have a lovely bedroom."

I splashed water at him and he jumped backwards. "I thought you were the one that wanted to go swimming?" I said as he wiped water off his arm.

He winked before running and throwing himself in the pool beside me. I turned away as the splash hit my back. I felt strong arms wrap around my waist and spin me around. I laughed before he threw me back into the water.

I lunged at him before pushing his head under water. He didn't struggle even though we both knew he could over power me if he really wanted to. He resurfaced wrapping his arms around my waist before pulling me down under water. I opened my eyes underwater to see him already staring at me. I smiled earning myself a mouth full of chlorine water. I wrapped my legs around his waist as we drifted farther away from the surface. The pool was only about five feet deep where we were so Aaron was practically sitting on the floor. I don't know how long we were under but eventually he stood up and we resurfaced gasping.

"See this was a good idea." He said breathless as he pushed a stray strand of hair behind my ear.

He tried to lean closer but I unhooked my legs from his waist and swam backwards smiling. "Yes, but we have school tomorrow." I pointed out while swimming to the edge.

I was about to lift myself out of the pool before I felt his arms wrap around my waist again. He leaned his head on my shoulder. "Or...we can ditch school tomorrow."

"And do what?" I laughed.

"Anything...and everything."

I pushed him away again before lifting myself out and looking down at him. "As fun as that sounds, I feel like ditching during my first week of school isn't the best idea." I laughed as I looked down at him.

He sighed running a hand through his hair. "Very true."

I heard my alarm blaring in the background. My hand shot out hitting snooze before I rolled over and my head and hand landed on something warm and hard. I scrunched my eyebrows and shifted my head. I fisted my hand in soft material and I heard someone chuckle. I felt someone's hand run down my leg before grabbing it and hooking it around something in front of me. I opened my eyes and squinted at the person beside me.

"Aaron?" I mumbled.

I tried shoving him away as he laughed but he wrapped one arm around my waist and grabbed the back of my knee with his free hand. "Good morning to you too."

I pushed at his chest again. "Very funny, now let go."

"Make me." He laughed.

I groaned. "What do you want?"

"You." He whispered.

I pushed into him and rolled over on top of him. His hands went to my hips and I leaned down so my hair brushed his face. "Do you?" I whispered my lips almost grazing his.

"Yes." He whispered back while leaning forward.

I pulled back laughing and trying to get off him. He rolled over so fast my head almost hit the headboard. He pulled my hands above my head and trapped them there. "That wasn't nice." He growled.

"I'm sorry." I breathed.

"So, what's stopping me from taking what I want?" He said kissing my neck.

"Well there's a law against it." I stated as my voice caught in my throat.

"It's not illegal if you want what I want." He murmured against my neck before kissing it again.

"But I don't." I said turning my head to the side.

He pulled back to look at me. "Just a kiss." He whispered leaning down towards me.

I put all my strength into rolling over and we both came crashing down to the ground. I landed on top of him and my head slammed into his chest.

He groaned. "You're such a buzz kill Sage."

I stood up and brushed my hands off looking down at Aaron. "Maybe you should just learn to sleep in your own bed." I pointed out.

"But that's no fun." He said bringing himself to his feet.

I laughed at him before walking towards my bathroom. "I'm taking a shower." I said as if it wasn't obvious.

"That's more fun with company too!" I heard him yell before I slammed the door and locked it for good measure.

After we were both done getting ready we walked out the door. Him in a simple black V neck t-shirt and jeans and me in a pink t-shirt, and a jean mini skirt with pink strappy heals that had material wrapped around my ankles. I had a slim silver ring on my right ring finger and a bedazzled heart necklace; I also had my charm bracelet on from yesterday.

"Why do you always dress so nice for school?" Aaron asked once we were driving there in his car again.

"What do you mean?" I said looking out the window.

"I mean why not go in just jeans and a t-shirt or yoga pants or something."

"I don't know. My dad always told me to look nice because people will respect me more."

"Does he also tell you to straighten your hair?"

My head snapped to the side so I could look at him. "Why are you asking so many questions?"

"I just think...you'd look just as good with simple clothes and curly hair."

"I was always told that I looked more mature with straightened hair and my dad has a lot of business friends and business dinners so he likes me to look 'respectful'...so I do." I said shrugging.

"Well I think you'd look lovely in anything you wear." Aaron said looking at me.

"Thanks." I said looking down at my hands. "I think you'd look nice in a button up shirt or a suit."

He laughed. "Thanks."

"He wanted to kiss you?" Kalina squealed while we stretched for cheer practice.

I nearly tackled her as I slapped my hand over her mouth. "Shh. I don't want everyone to know."

She shoved my hand away and I wiped it on my shorts because she'd attempted to lick my hand. "But that's impresionante!" I gave her a blank look as I touched my toes. "Impressive." She said blankly.

"Ok well he's probably just being his normal self. He was joking the whole time." I said making more excuses.

"Are you sure?" She said raising an eyebrow.

"One hundred percent."

"Hey!" Nadia snapped. "Stop talking and get to practice."

"Nadia...we're stretching." I pointed out.

"Then get up and go run four times around the track."

I stood up and helped Kalina to her feet. "You want us to run a mile?"

"No...just you." She said pointing at me. "Although Kalina could probably use it more." She said looking her up and down.

"You did not just call me fat!" Kalina shouted before lunging at Nadia. I caught her around the waist as she started yelling at Nadia in Spanish.

I just smiled at Nadia before dragging Kalina away. I got her to calm down before I spoke again. "Well...I guess I'll go run that mile." I said shrugging.

"Want me to come run it with you?" She asked before pushing her hair behind her ears.

"No, it's my punishment I can handle four laps." I said smiling.

"Ok, are you sure though?"

I laughed. "Yes, I'm sure."

I'd gotten to my second lap when I heard footsteps join mine. I glanced over to see none other than Aaron.

"Hey." He said giving me a head nod.

"Um, hey?" I said laughing. "What are you doing?"

"You looked lonely." He stated keeping pace with me.

"You don't have to run with me, its ok." I said feeling bad that he's running.

"It's not like I can leave without you anyway...and this is better than just sitting in my car."

"Is it?" I said looking back over at him.

"Ya...I get to be with you." I didn't say anything to that because lately Aaron's being really nice and it makes me nervous. I'm afraid he's trying to use me just like Nadia said. But at the same time when he says things like that it makes me feel...happy and giddy. After we were on the last lap Aaron spoke up again. "So are you going to Kalina's Halloween party this Friday?"

"Kalina's having a party?" I asked.

"Ya her and her brother always throw one every year."

"Oh she hasn't said anything to me."

"Well," He said as we came to stop after our last lap. "I'll take you."

"Will you?" I said almost jokingly.

"Only if you dress in something sexy." He said opening the gym door for me.

"Oh of course." I said laughing. "Well let me get changed and then we can go."

"K." He said as I jogged to the locker rooms.

I caught Kalina coming out of the locker room. "Hey." I said catching her arm.

"How was that mile?"

"Interesting." I said smiling. "I heard you're having a Halloween party this Friday."

"You heard about that while running?" She said laughing.

"Ya...I was also kinda wondering if I was allowed to go?" I said giving her a cheesy smile.

"Of course who do you think is going to get ready with me?"

"Really?" I said hugging her. "Thanks."

"No problem, chica." She said smiling before walking away.

After changing I walked back into the gym to see Nadia talking to Aaron. She ran her hand down his chest as she cocked her head to the side. I stopped waiting for him to step away or push her hand away. But he just nodded to whatever she was saying.

She smiled before kissing him on the cheek although it was more like the corner of his mouth.

I watched her walk away; before she opened the door to leave she turned around to wave while she winked at Aaron. He waved back before she left letting the door close behind her.

I walked across the room and he smiled when he reached me. We started walking towards his car and he threw his arm around my shoulder and I jokingly threw it off.

Once we were in the car and halfway home Aaron finally said something. "Hey Sage, are you ok?"

"Ya I'm fine." I said quickly, not wanting him to know that I'd seen him talking to Nadia and that it had bugged me. I didn't want him to have that power over me.

"Ok, I just wanted to make sure." He said pulling into my driveway.

"Ya I'm just tired." I said before closing the door and unlocking my front door leaving Aaron behind.

That shouldn't have bugged me but it did. Why did Aaron talking to other girls make me feel upset?
