You looked at the triceratops in awe, smiling and almost tearing up a bit.

Alan already had his head laying on the trike's stomach, listening to and feeling her breathing.

You and your sister both pet her head and snout, but you noticed that her tongue looked quite sickly. "Sis, look at that," you said to Ellie gesturing to the triceratops' tongue.

Ellie looked at it and gently touched the creature's tongue. "Microvesicles, that's interesting," Ellie shared before sticking her tongue out indicating her slight disgust.

A ranger came over and kneeled down in front of Ellie and handed her a small flashlight.

Ellie went right away examining the triceratops and you were right behind her observing everything intently. "What are her symptoms?" Ellia asked the ranger.

"Imbalance, disorientation, labored breathing. It seems to happen every six weeks or so," he answered as Ellie shined the flashlight in the triceratops' eye. You both noticed the eyes were dilated.

"These are dilated. Take a look," Ellie informed the ranger.

"They are? I'll be damned."

You stood up, looking around noticing Ian leaving the jeep without his leather jacket, rolling up his sleeves. He was quite the specimen but you were already focused on something else.

Ellie also stood up, "That's pharmacological. From local plant life."

Ellie placed her hands on her hips and right away you were both searching for any potentially harmful plants that the triceratops could've ingested.

You kneeled down in front of what looked like West Indian Lilac, "Ellie," you called to your sister.

Ellie walked over to you and kneeled down beside you seeing the plant.

"Is this West Indian Lilac?" Ellie asked the ranger.

"Yes, but the dinosaur's don't eat it," he answered.

"You sure?" Ellia asked for confirmation.

"Pretty sure."

"There's only one way to be positive," you already knew what had to be done, "I'll have to see the dinosaur's droppings," Ellie announced standing up.

"Dino- droppings- droppings?" Ian asked your sister scratching his head.

You didn't even notice Ian was behind you. You stood up following your sister.

"You- you're joining her?" Ian asked as you walked away.

"Yep, to look at those dino droppings."

You and Ellie, of course, had to suit up in gloves first.

As you were sliding your gloves on all the way up to your elbows you watched Ian saunter up to one of the 5-foot tall piles of dinosaur dung, he removed his glasses and casually announced, "that is one big pile of shit."

You laughed quietly and joined your sister, who was already putting her gloved hands in the pile of dung.

The ranger ended up being right, there were no traces of the toxic plant found in the dinosaur's feces.

You and Ellie both stood up and tried together to find out what could be ailing the triceratops as you walked back to the creature.

Ian, after observing you and Ellie (mostly you), stood beside Alan. "They're, um, tenacious," Ian said to Alan sliding his hand into his pocket.

Alan just shook his head, "you have no idea."

Ian looked back at you catching another nice glimpse of your ass, "You will remember to wash your hands before you eat anything!"

You kinda snickered looking at your sister who looked back at you and laughed as you walked back to the triceratops. He was right, you'd be terribly sick if you ingested dino feces... that's it!

"Ellie! the lilac berries aren't in the droppings because they're in her vomit!" you discovered joyously.

It was all so obvious now, the dinosaur would've eaten rocks to help digest her food and afterward, she would have expelled the rocks and then the berries would be there with it.

Ellie's face lit up, "that's right!"

Ian grinned at you getting all excited about your little discovery, but just then a loud peal of thunder was heard.

"Doctors, if you please- I have to insist that we get moving," Gennaro urged you all after being frightened by the thunder.

"Oh, you know if it's alright I'd like to stay here and finish up with the Trike, if you know..." Ellie asked looking at Alan and the ranger.

"Sure, I'm in a gas-powered jeep. I can drop her off at the Visitor's Center before I make the boat with the others," the ranger said.

"Great. Then I'll catch up with you if you want to go on."

"Are you sure?" you asked your sister.

"Yeah, I want to stay with her a little longer, I'm making some progress, but you have fun."

Ellie kinda lifted her eyebrows up at you jokingly. You rolled your eyes.

"Okay then," Alan said leaving.

You all walked back to your jeeps to get in. You slid Ian's jacket over to sit down in your former seat.

Ian got in and put his jacket in the front seat, you were glad he decided to keep it off, besides, it was a little too hot for a jacket.

As the tour continued on, you and Ian exchanged some witty banter. You and he got along quite well, and of course, you noticed his obvious flirting but you couldn't help but be charmed.

Though you knew he probably flirted with and charmed plenty of women he found you to be special. He was often the one to do most of the talking but he enjoyed listening to you, only inserting a few of his clever jokes here and there to see you smile or laugh.

It soon started to rain, and it was dark outside but you had been so distracted by Ian you barely noticed. At this point, you had given up on seeing any dinosaurs other the triceratops on the tour.

Suddenly the jeeps all stopped at the tyrannosaur paddock. "What happened?" you Ian asked perplexed. Ian shrugged his shoulders. There was probably a glitch but there was no voice chiming in to tell you anything. You started to worry.

You tried to use the radio but that wasn't working. "The powers out, what a great tour," you said sarcastically.

Ian kinda snickered but he looked worried, he was trying his best to conceal it though.

Just then Alan opened the door to your jeep on your side, "Is your radio working?" he asked standing in the rain with his head leaned in. "Nope, I'm guessing yours isn't working either," you answered. "No, and Gennaro and the kids' radio isn't working either, Gennaro just said to stay put," Alan informed.

"Kids okay?" Ian asked Alan.

"I didn't ask, why wouldn't they be?" Alan answered.

"Kids get scared," Ian replied stiffly.

"What's there to be scared about? It's just a little hiccup in the power-"

"I didn't say I was scared."

"I didn't say you were scared."

"I know."

Alan just kinda nodded his head and closed the door before retreating back to his own jeep.

You lifted your head up and glanced at Ian who was looking out the window, staying very still. You had to admit you were a little worried yourself but you assured yourself that everything would be fine.

You grabbed your small backpack and grabbed a water bottle from it. The bottle was warm but drinkable. You took a sip and offered the bottle to Ian, "Thanks," he said smiling, taking the water bottle and starting to drink from it. He handed the bottle back to you.

You put the bottle back in your pack and held it close to you like a teddy bear.

"You okay?" Ian asked concerned.

"Yeah I'm fine, I'm just a little nervous."

You started to tap your foot against the floor of the car.

Ian ignored his own fear to try and soothe you. He slowly scooted closer to you. "Like Dr. Grant said, it's just a little, uh, little hiccup in the power, nothing to worry about."

You nodded starting to calm down just from the sound of his voice. Without even giving it any real thought you leaned your head against Ian's arm and stopped tapping your foot.

Ian wasn't opposed to this at all, in fact, it comforted him as well. He looked down at you and smiled.

You were about to doze off until you started to feel the ground beneath you shake. You lifted your head from Ian's arm. "Do you feel that?" You asked Ian starting to tap your foot again.

"Yes," he answered quietly looking through the window.

You looked out the window yourself staying close to Ian.

A wave of terror washed over you as you watched the T-rex swallow the goat behind its tall fence.

You watched Gennaro run out of the jeep and into the bathroom frantically.

"What does he think he's doing?" You commented.

"When you gotta go, you gotta go," Ian replied quietly.

You watched in terror as the massive creature started to break through the no longer electrified fence and open its giant mouth to roar creating what sounded like an awful shriek.

"Boy, do I hate being right all the time," Ian almost whispered looking up at the dinosaur in horror but still making sure you were staying close to him.
