"Been a while, hasn't it?" My father spoke. He and mum made their way into the living room to take a seat on the leather sofas adjacent to us.

Brad and I still stayed frozen in place as our eyes followed them.

"H-How are y- When did you get back?" Brad asked. We both had the same expression etched into our pale complexions: pure shock. This was the first time we were seeing our father in what had to be close to half a decade.

"I know it's an earlier date than when you and your brother should have been expecting me, but I decided to fly in with the intentions of surprising your mother here." Our father explained, as his arm slipped  around our mothers waist. "Your mum had a few things she wanted to discus, and when she contacted me, I realized just how much I had missed her." He added. His his hand tightened around our mothers waist, and he planted a soft kiss against her temple.

Brad and I both grimaced. It was always uncomfortable watching our parents together. They were incredibly open with their displays of affection.

"When she told me she was expecting you in a few hours, my excitement grew... So I decided to extend my trip by a couple days. I was hoping I could spend some time with you before my return to Ukraine."

Brad and I still hadn't moved an inch.

"How long are you thinking of staying for?" I asked. My fathers smile faltered slightly.

"Did I catch you at a bad time? Goodness, I should have called first."

"No no no, it's not that." Brad and I both rushed out. "We just want to appreciate the time we do have with you, maybe take a few days off."

Our father nodded after moments of consideration.

"I'll be here for three more days. I did receive a request from an associate that my presence was needed at a conference hall meeting the day after tomorrow, but I let my department know that I would be staying longer than anticipated. Your mother and I have spent some quality time together, that alone, has made me want to spend more time here."

Brad and I squirmed at that suggestive comment. I wanted to puke.

Brad's eyes caught mine when I glanced over at him. We weren't expecting this. Not now, at least. It couldn't have possibly been a worse time to discuss the predicament we were in.

"Spend as much time as you can with your father, boys. You know he's a very busy man." Our mother added. Her eyes was gazing adoringly up at him. As disgusting as it was to hear our parents speak about their sex life, I did appreciate seeing my mother let her guard down. My father made her soft and less scary. Of course, she was the only one who could do so. Brad and I were even more on edge.

It wasn't that our father was a bad man per say. I would argue he was the farthest from that.

Our father was, however, as scary as satan himself. He gave off this intimidating and sinister aura that forced Brad and I to be on our absolute best behavior. When our father grew angry, he had a temper about him. He never laid a single finger on either Brad or I, but his demeanor gave us the impression that if he wanted to, he could kill us.

I guess it was that same eerie aura our mother gave off. They were people that no one, including both Brad and myself, had ever thought of crossing.

"What was it you two wanted to speak with me about? And why can't you ever visit me just to visit me? I swear you two are so distant."

Before Brad or I could reply, our father cut in. "You're telling me you don't visit your mother?" His eyes darkened as he spoke. "Why is that?"

I felt a small shiver run down my spine.

"Our apologies, father. We'll make more of an effort to come visit." Brad intercepted.

"Damn right you will. From now on, you'll do Brunch every Sunday morning with her. I don't want to receive a call that either you or Brad couldn't make it." Both Brad and I's head hung low as we listened to him speak. Neither of us were trying to come over here for brunch every Sunday, but my fathers word was his bond. Whatever he said, went. "This research job will last me just one more year before I'll be able to relocate to the states. You promised me you would keep your mother company amidst my absence."

"Our apologies, father." I replied.

My hands had since started to grow sweaty. Did mother tell him about work? Did she tell him about the deal that fell through with Larington? If our father found out, he surely would kill me.

Brad opened his mouth as if he was going explain the current situation to our parents, but no words came out. I took one deep sigh before preparing myself for the absolute mayhem that was bound to ensue. "Brad and I visited today because we ran into an issue. When I returned from my business trip, Brad informed me that there had been an unauthorized user who accessed our server the night before."

"Are you telling me we were hacked?" Our father demanded immediately. Mother's loving smile was now completely gone. She had detached herself from our father to stare Brad and I down head on.

"Y-Yes." I stuttered out, far less sure of that answer or my decision to have this conversation right now. "We did a search on the files that the user had accessed, and it looks like some of those files were personal. One of them contained Brad's birth certificates. Both certificates."

That was when my mother's face paled completely. Our father's hand gripped the arm rest so tight, I thought he was going to rip it straight off the couch.

"No..." she whispered quietly to herself. I had never seen my mother look so worried before. Her worry, in return, worried me. It looked like she knew something that Brad and myself didn't.

My father stood up so abruptly, Brad flinched from the sudden movement. Father's facial expressions were absolutely terrifying as he glanced between the three of us.

"W-Where are you going?" I asked.

"I'm going to go change. We've got some work to do, boys."
