"HEY! IT'S THE KID!" Levi tensed, his blue eyes peeking over the comic in his hand to stare towards Five in panic.

"We're good." Five told the boy, squinting his eyes at the visitors, who raised their brows at the two young boys in question as Five dropped the comic in his hand.

Levi furrowed his brows, closing the book in hand and turning to look where he heard the voice. His crystal blue eyes widened when he saw the familiar two men from the theater yesterday, causing his breath to hitch.

The tall one with large glasses snorted when he saw the kid's bewildered face, "Why do you look so spooked, kid?" he said, his voice dripping in amusement.

Levi blinked, opening his mouth to say something, anything, but all he could squeak out was a small, "Hi."

Five bit his lip to hold in a laugh before looking towards the older men with a soft gaze. "This is my friend Levi. He's..."

Five trailed of looking towards the blue-eyed boy, who was staring at the man gaping, looking like he was trying to hide behind something but all they saw was midair when really Levi was wishing Six would be visible to their eyes instead of making a fool of himself.

"Shy?" Five winced.

The shorter one of the men chuckled lowly, sharing a glance with his partner, "It's alright. We get it. Two grown men walking hand in hand looking for comics, not really normal, huh? I'm Eddie, this is my...boyfriend. Richie."

Five arched one brow, his arms crossed as he sends a pointed look to Twelve, who's head snapped towards the ground, feeling his cheeks heat up.

"We got to go," Levi frantically said, grabbing Five's hand and starting to drag the boy away, but stumbled back as Five stopped, pulling Twelve back gently.

"Actually!" Five exclaimed, with a wide grin full of mischief as Twelve looks at him in panic. "You guys got somewhere to be? Levi and I would love to get to know you." the boy stated, trying to ignore the tugging on his sleeve and harsh whispers.

Richie and Eddie share a look, Richie shrugged, "Nope. Come on!" he exclaimed in childlike excitement, even though he was like thirty.

Twelve felt awkward. That was all he felt as he watched the two men have a conversation with Five while eating as they all sat in a booth in a random little diner they found.

It was a cute place, old fashioned red booths lined up on the walls, there were a few pinball machines near the entrance, Levi thought it was cool since there were red and blue fluorescent lights brightening the place up.

Levi slowly ate his fries, grateful for Eddie who kindly bought him and Five a meal, even if Levi wanted to stop the older man from doing not feeling worth the trouble.

The boy wasn't sure about what Five was doing. He didn't know if it was a good idea to get close to these men.

Five had to reassure him several times before they walked with the men to the diner, that he was doing this for Twelve, whatever that meant.

Levi squeezed Ben tighter, not bothering to listen to their conversation, just looking around the new environment in fascination.

He has seen so many new things ever since Eleven dragged them out of the cabin, it made him happy, seeing the real world instead of watching it on a screen because he knows most of the stuff on T.V. isn't real, much to his disappointment.

But seeing the world also made him quite sad.

It reminded him of Dustin. How Dustin let him read his first comic, and how he rode on a bike for the first time with Dustin, even though he was on the back.

It reminded him how careful Dustin was with Ben, even Klaus, and it made Levi's heart warm with an unknown feeling, because he had a feeling Dustin was keeping Klaus safe, and it made Levi happy that he left the bear in Dustin's hands.

Levi let out a quiet sniff, trying to muffle it in Ben's head while trying to ignore the tug in his heart as he thought about Lucas' words he heard at the school about how Dustin might like a girl.

"I use the bathroom," he whispered to Five who nodded and tried not to let too much of his concern show as he caught sight of Levi's teary eyes. Levi slid out the booth and walked to the restroom, leaving the three at the table who all huddled closer together.

"So what's the plan here, kid?" Richie raised his brows while wiping his hands off on a napkin.

Five sighed, glancing over his shoulder his eyes catching on the door Levi disappeared through. "I'm trying to help him," he stated, turning back to the grown men with a determined glare.

"Help him with what exactly?" Eddie asked this time, his brown eyes boring into Five's green ones, with concern and curiosity.

Five bit his lip, not wanting to out the boy, but knew these two could help. "He's figuring himself out. There's this...b-boy--"

"OH! There's a boy." Richie whispered loudly to his partner, faking a hurt expression as Eddie nudges the man while rolling his eyes at the man's immaturity.

"He's...not exactly in the right state of mind. And he's told me that he hates himself for even thinking of a boy that way." Five said, his eyes pleading at the two men to help him as his voice cracks with the next sentence.

"I just want him to know it's okay. It's hard for me to watch him fight it when I know he's breaking inside."

Eddie and Richie stare at the boy in front of them blankly, making Five bob his knee in nerves under the table before Richie finally smiles softly. "Okay, we'll help."

Five sighed in relief, "Thank you."

Richie raised a brow at his partner, a mischievous glint in his eye before smirking at Five. "Here's the plan."

When Levi came out of the bathroom he was a little suspicious, to say the least, when he took in the wide smile Richie was giving him and the knowing look from Eddie.

He wanted to ask Five what happened while he was gone but didn't get a chance to because they made him finish eating before they left.

Now they were walking down the street, Levi and Five behind the two older men, Twelve watching as Eddie grasped Richie's hand tightly, so carelessly it made Levi unconsciously smile as his stomach flipped.

The blue-eyed boy saw some people nearby giving the two dirty looks, ruining the boy's moment.

Eddie looked over his shoulder, seeing Levi's glare and followed the boy's line of sight before rolling his eyes. Tugging on his boyfriend's hand, they start walking beside the boy on one side, Five on the other.

"We learned to ignore them," Eddie stated, looking towards the parents one of them holding the toddler in her arms tighter as Eddie makes eye contact like he and Richie were contagious.

Levi furrowed his brows, looking up at the taller man, feeling his heartache and anger corse his veins by the look the lady and man were giving the two. "How?"

"Easy, just walk away. Be the bigger person." Eddie said, shrugging and looking down at the slightly shorter boy like it was so easy to ignore what people thought.

Richie raised a brow and snorted at his partner who was completely opposite of him. "Or you can tell them to suck a dick."

Five's eyes widened at that, shaking his head vigorously which Richie ignored and continued snickering.

"Suck...a dick?" Twelve said slowly in confusion, tilting his head to the side reminding Eddie of a puppy.

Slapping his boyfriend on the arm, Eddie hissed. "Don't teach him that. Don't listen to him." he dedicated the last part to Levi.

Richie raised his hands in surrender, winking towards Five who rolled his eyes while shaking his head, amused.

The older men continued walking as Levi lingered a bit in the back, Five stopped walking and waited for the boy to catch up.

"You okay?" Five asked, feeling concerned that he would be overwhelmed by this.

Levi nodded with a smile, grabbing the boy's hand and running to catch up with Richie and Eddie.

They arrived at the familiar bookstore bring greeted by the same smiley woman, who was unfazed by the show of affection Richie and Eddie were doing, something Levi noticed and felt his heart swell up with an unfamiliar feeling.

Levi looked around, not seeing most of the store the first time around. Richie and Eddie started whispering before Richie grabbed onto Five's shoulder leading them towards wherever the younger boy wanted to go.

Eddie bit his lip in thought, before doing the same to Levi who jumped at the sudden action, looking up at the man with wide eyes, glancing at the man's hand then back to him.

"Where do you want to go?" Eddie asked, thinking maybe he shouldn't dive right into talking about the boy's personal life even though he was a sucker for stories, he wanted Levi to trust him, even though unknowing to him Twelve was already trusting him and looked up to him.

Twelve exhaled sharply, before pointing towards where the comics are. The man nodded, letting the boy lead him away from the entrance.

The young boy looked around, smiling softly when he sees the X- Men comic, picking it up he sat on one of the red chairs that were against the wall, Ben sitting on his lap, getting lost in his own world as he looked at the familiar pictures.

Eddie sat in the other chair next to it, trying to discreetly watch the boy get lost. They have only known the two boys for about an hour now, and they've already grown so fond of them, even though they know the kids would have to leave soon.

"Can I talk to you about something serious?" Eddie said in the softest voice he could muster, feeling just as nervous as he knew Levi was feeling.

Twelve snapped out of his world and looked at the man in curiosity and concern, "You okay?"

Eddie chuckled, getting up from his seat to crouch down in front of the boy. "I'm okay. But...Five told me and Richie something about you."

Levi furrowed his brows, slowly closing the comic and setting it on the small coffee table between the two chairs, "What?"

Eddie's face scrunched up in thought. He wasn't very good at talking to people about this kind of stuff but he didn't want Richie to do it because God knows what the loudmouth would say.

"He said...that you like...a boy."

Twelve felt his heart stop in his chest, his body ran cold. He felt hurt Five told these men. Of course, he knew they would have no problem with him but it still scared him.

Eddie saw the look of pure terror on his face, reminding the man of himself at his age. "Hey, it's okay. You want to ...tell me about him?"

Twelve swallowed harshly, closing his eyes briefly as Six whispered sweet nothings to him. Fiddling with Ben, he decided maybe he should talk about it with someone other than Five and Six.

"His name...is Dustin." Levi started, his heartwarming at the sound of the boy's name.

Eddie smiled at the lost but fond look in the boy's eyes as he barely said his crush's name.

"He's funny. Nice. He has a cute smile." Levi said softly as a flash of Dustin smiling erupted in his mind, making his heart speed up.

"How does he make you feel?" Eddie asked in curiosity. He felt himself start grinning as he noticed the way Levi would talk about this Dustin was the way he talked about Richie.

Levi frowned, looking down at his lap, not knowing exactly how Dustin makes him feel. "He...makes my stomach feel...weird? My heart? It beats...faster? But he makes me calm."

Eddie bit his lip, nodding along, knowing exactly what the boy was feeling. "It's scary, huh?"

Twelve bit the inside of his cheek, feeling his eyes water, remembering why exactly he felt so sad about the situation. "Yes. I don't...see others like me."

"What do you mean?"

Clearing his throat, the boy sniffled. "Liking boys. You and Rich are the first I see. It's scary, feeling alone because no one is the same."

Eddie let out a bitter laughed, "Yeah, it is. When Richie and I first met, we were around your age. We were best friends. I started crushing on him first and it scared me too. Being so young and finding out you like a boy when you think you're not supposed to."

Twelve felt a tear fall and he quickly wiped it away, continuing to listen to the man's stories, feeling his heartbeat calm.

"I didn't have anyone to talk to, which made it scarier. I felt like something was wrong with me. Another part was I didn't know if Richie liked me either."

"What'd you do?"

"I had hope. In the beginning, I was scared of what people thought about me. I hoped it would get better. And it did. Richie kissed me, under the bleachers at our first school dance."

Twelve let out a little giggle at that sentence while Eddie chuckled at his reaction. Placing a hand on top of the boys, Eddie made sure to connect eyes with the boy.

"I'm just saying, you don't need to worry about others. There's going to be people who won't like what you do, but you have to ignore them. You're strong, you can take a few mean words. Be the bigger person."

"Be bigger person." Twelve nodded, before smirking. "Or they can suck dick."

"That's my boy!" Eddie and Levi turn when they hear Richie exclaim, walking towards us with Five smiling behind him, holding a bag.

Eddie scowled at his partner, but his lip quirking when he watches Levi hive-five Richie.

Turning to the blue-eyed boy he started once again. "If you like Dustin, don't think about others. Fuck what they think. If they don't like you, I don't like them."

Levi chuckled at the man but Eddie shook his head, "No, seriously. If they make fun of you I'll go down there and beat their asses I don't care if they're kids either." the man said in a serious tone.

Twelve blushed at the man not believing that this man cared for him, looking down at his lap. "Thank you," he whispered, swallowing harshly as he feels his eyes well up.

"Awe! Come here, little guy." Richie pulled the boy from his seat and wrapped his big arms around the small boy, letting Levi cry into his chest.

Five crossed his arms, mentally patting himself on the back, snapping out of his thoughts when a hand firmly grasps his shoulder.

Looking up he sees Eddie looking at his partner and Levi fondly, "You're a good friend." Eddie whispered to the boy, who felt a small smile tug at his lips, feeling a slight burn behind his eyes.

"I try my best."

•••

Twelve held back tears as he hugged the two men as tight as he can. They were saying goodbye now. Levi knew he and Five would have to leave but he didn't know he would grow so close to Richie and Eddie, enough to shed tears and feel his heart hurt.

"We have to go, buddy." Five sighed, rubbing a hand up and down Twelve's back soothingly.

Eddie and Richie pulled back from the boy's grip with sad smiles. "We'll see each other again," Eddie promised, ruffling the boy's curly hair.

Levi nodded, rubbing his puffy eyes, holding tightly onto Ben as if the plush was going to disappear. Richie's eyes widened before he pulled something from his back pocket.

"Before you leave. I saw you reading this, and thought maybe you'd like it. Don't lose it. I put something important in there." Richie rambled, handing the thing to Levi.

Twelve grinned as he clutched the X- Men comic in his free hand, gazing up at the tall man. "Thank you."

"We're gonna be late. We're supposed to meet up with some of our friends." Richie said, looking at his boyfriend for confirmation.

"Goodbye," Levi said.

With one last hug, Richie and Eddie started walking away, each step their figure gets smaller and smaller causing Levi's heart to clench.

"You ready?" Five asked.

Twelve inhaled, before nodding and following Five into an alley, before Five grabbed his wrist and teleported them back to the abandoned place.

When they arrived, Five and Twelve both gaped at the scene in front of them.

Five blinked, "WHAT THE FU--!"
