"See you guys on Monday. Have a great weekend," Ms. Morgan said while everyone gets up and walk out of the class.

I put my folder in my backpack and carry it on my back. I walk out of the classroom into the hallway. It's lunchtime so I walk to the cafeteria.

Sam appears from the corner and run towards me. I stop in my track and watch as she try to catch her breath.

"What happened?" I asks. She must've have something important to tell me since she ran all the way to me.

"Corbin and Lucas are fighting in the blacktop next to the football field," she said between breaths.

My mouth drop open at her words in shock.

I run through the hallway and out of the building to the blacktop. Corbin must've been the one who started the fight. He better not be beating Lucas to death.

I reach the blacktop to see a big crowd forming. I run towards it and squeeze my way through the body of students to the center.

I imagined Lucas on the ground almost unconscious while Corbin's beating him up but, to my surprise, Corbin is the one on the ground beaten.

My eyes widen and jaw drop in shock. Corbin is on the ground while Lucas is throwing punches to his face. Knowing Corbin, he could've defend himself and hit Lucas back but he's just letting Lucas punch him. Why?

My eyes trail from Corbin to Lucas. His face is red with anger. His eyes is flaring with madness. I've never seen this violent side of Lucas before. It scares me. He looks like a completely different person. He has always been so nice and happy. That's what I liked about him. Who is this boy punching the living crap out of Corbin?

"Stop right now!" Mrs. Miller, our principal, scream out with an authoritative tone causing everyone to quiet down and make way for her to come to the center.

A security guard follows behind her as she walk towards Lucas and Corbin. Lucas notice her and get off Corbin, blood dripping down from his bruised knuckles.

"You two!" Mrs. Miller point to Corbin on the ground and Lucas, "Office. Right now." She turn to the crowd of students, "Its lunchtime. Go eat!" Everybody follow her order and start walking away, minding their own business.

I step a few feet away and watch as the security guard help Corbin up from the ground and walk him inside the building, following Mrs. Miller and Lucas.

What the hell happened between Lucas and Corbin?

I've lost my appetite so I head to the office to find out what happened.

-

It's been 20 minutes since they've been in Mrs. Miller's office. I'm waiting outside the office, sitting on the chairs against the wall. I keep thinking of scenarios as to what caused Lucas to hit Corbin but none of them makes sense.

The door to Mrs. Miller's office open and I quickly get up from my seat. Lucas gets out of the room and walk towards me with an angry expression.

"What happened?" I asks. He avoid my eyes.

"Lucas..." my voice trail off as he ignore me and walk out of the office.

Corbin comes out of Mrs. Miller's office, holding an ice pack against his bruised cheek. He looks awful. The corner of his lip is bruised and so is his left eye. There is a cut on his cheek. His face looks swollen.

Corbin makes eye contact with me but I quickly lower my eyes, avoiding his gaze. I hear his footsteps coming closer to me and look up to see him standing beside me.

"What happened?" I asks, genuinely concerned.

"Why don't you ask that princess of yours. Sure knows how to throw a punch." He sounds pissed off but I would too if someone had beaten the crap out of me.

"It must have been something you did to piss him off. What did you do?" He scoff in disbelief at my question.

"Is this how little you think of me? I look worse than he does. He's the one who kept punching me. You better be thankful I didn't break his nose."

I lower my eyes in embarrassment. He's right. "Sorry," I apologize for what I said and for Lucas.

"Don't. You're not the one who needs to apologize. That princess of yours should man up and apologize for what he did," he spit out in anger.

"Stop calling him a princess," I defend Lucas.

Corbin shakes his head in disbelief, "There you go again. Always defending him." I stay silent.

He clench his jaw and walk away.
