"Jaesun." I called out, my body slumped onto his couch. "Jae!" I yelled a little the moment he doesn't respond, "it's starting!" I said as I bring my knees to my chest, getting cozy.

"Shit, shit, shit." I hear him cuss under his breath, followed by little footsteps. "Here!" He tossed me a beer can and I almost miss it. "Oh my gosh, how much kernel did you put in?" I asked as I looked at the three bowls of popcorn he was struggling with.

"They said put in 8 cups, there's still more in the kitchen." He laughed as he shook his head, his blonde hair swaying with the motion.

"They meant 1/4 of the kernel is equal to 8 cups, Jae!" I chuckled as I hit his chest lightly.

"This is why I said, you should never put me in the kitchen." He placed two of the bowls onto the coffee table before getting comfortable.

"Oh, and I should be in the kitchen so that I can set everything on fire again?" I narrowed my eyes at him and his expression drops, "you're right. You're never going back in there." He said with a straight face but ended up breaking into a fit of laughter the moment he recalled that day.

"Okay, shut up. It's starting." I gave a quick peck to his lips right before burying myself in his chest as I fixed my eyes on the screen.

"I still don't get why you like old movies." He said, stuffing his face with popcorn.

"Tch- they're amazing and Stand by Me is a classic. Now shush, you promised to watch this with me." I tapped his thigh lightly as I tried getting into a comfortable position. I ended up laying on his lap.

"Ah, I love this part! River Phoenix is so-" I looked up and noticed him dozing off, the bowl of popcorn almost rolling out of his hands.

I catch it in the nick of time and placed it on the table, along with the other two bowls as I stared at his sleeping form. I let out an exasperated sigh as I threw my head back.

"So much for making it up to me." I let out bitterly as I got up, going to his room to retrieve a blanket. I draped it over him as I slumped onto the couch again, wanting to finish the movie but just as I sat down, my phone buzzes.

"Areum!" My sister exclaimed on the other side of the line.

"Aera, what's wrong?" I asked, jumping onto my feet, preparing to leave. My heart started thumping against my chest as I thought about the worst case scenario.

"It's dad!"

"Oh my God, what happened?" My chest heaving at this point as I got ready to wake Jae up.

"He wants to have dinner with Taehyung!" She said and I feel all the adrenaline drown out of me, my anxiety now replaced with agitation.

"God, I thought something bad happened." I groaned, falling back down onto the couch.

"It is something bad! Dad's going to kill him during dinner tonight." She started rambling.

"Alright, what do I have to do with this?" I asked, increasing the volume of the television not afraid of waking Jaesun up. He was a heavy sleeper, once he dozed off, there was no coming back till the next day.

"You have to join us for dinner." Aera said and I clicked out of annoyance.

"I told you I was staying over at Jae's place today." I groaned once more. "Plus, I've never met Taehyung. Don't you think it'll be awkward?"

"I'll be there. Areum, please! You know dad will probably be in a better mood if you're there." She pleaded and I sighed in defeat.

I threw a glance at Jae's sleeping form and nodded even though I knew she wouldn't be able to see me, "fine, I'll be there."

"Areum!" My dad chimed as he brings me into his embrace, "I missed you." He said, giving me a kiss on my forehead.

"I was gone for two days, dad." I looked up at him as he let out the biggest chortle.

"It's not wrong for a dad to miss his baby." He ruffled my hair as he took my bag. "How's Jaesun?" He asked, setting my bag down next to the our sofa.

"He's fine." I let out bluntly and he instantly catches my change of tone.

"Did something happen?" He asked, becoming the overprotective father that he was.

My dad had always babied me for some reason, in a way he had never done for Aera. She would always say that I was his favourite daughter and he would deny it, but his actions always proved otherwise. Not that I was complaining though. Through this, I gained my dad's trust pretty fast in almost every area.

He accepted Jaesun as part of the family almost immediately as, being my boyfriend, Jaesun also gained the trust of my father quickly.

However it was different for Aera. Taehyung and her dated for a few measly months, and my father never liked it.

"Where's Aera?" I asked, settling down at the dinning area.

"She's on the way here with her boyfriend." I sensed the annoyance in his voice and I looked at him.

"Dad, go easy on him, okay?" I said and he simply stared at me. "I'm sure he's a nice guy, so lighten up." I rubbed the back of his hand right before glueing my eyes to the door.

It swung open, revealing Aera and Taehyung who were rushing in. "I'm sorry, we're late!" Aera apologised, tugging onto the brunette's arm as she dragged him towards us.

"Um- hi." Taehyung let out nervously as he stared at my father and me. His deep voice caught me of guard and instantly grasped my attention. "I'm Taehyung." His voice was like dark chocolate, so smooth and rich yet tinged with a little sweetness.

He stuck out his right arm for my father to shake it but my father simply stares at him intently.

"Nice to meet you, Taehyung." I bud in, taking his hand into mine, trying to salvage the moment from any awkwardness.

His fingers wrap around my tiny hands, holding on firmly as he shook it. I released my grip and sat down as he sat himself down in front of me, Aera taking the seat next to him.

Most of the dinner was silent, with my dad throwing the occasional questions to test him. In less than an hour, we were finished with our meal.

"I'll clear up." I stood up, not being able to take the awkward silence. My dad instantly shoots Taehyung a glare and Taehyung frowns a little, not really sure how to react.

"So just because you're a man you don't feel obligated to help clean up?" He asked and Taehyung instantly shoots up from his seat.

"N-no sir, I'm sorry, here." He took the plates from my hands and I couldn't help but chuckle. Taehyung's eyes then darted up to meet mine and I instantly bit my lip, trying to contain my laughter.

Aera stayed behind to speak to my dad while Taehyung and I entered the kitchen. "You have to relax." I told the boy that had sweat dripping down his forehead.

"Hm?" He cocked his head to the side like a confused puppy, hoping I'd elaborate.

"It's cold out, yet you look like you just ran a marathon." I said and he chuckled, putting the dishes into the dishwasher.

"Can you blame me? That was the most nerve wracking thing I had ever been put through." Taehyung laughed and so did I.

"Don't worry, I'm sure he'll warm up to you in no time." I said and he nodded his head as his bottom lip perked out, forming a little pout.

"I better get out there before he kills me." Taehyung pointed towards the dining room and I nodded with a smile. "Nice to meet you by the way." He said as he walked out.

"Nice to meet you too!" I yelled a little as he walked away.
