I sat in the living room, eating the takeout I had gotten, alone on the couch.

There was a note pasted onto the door, "sorry, I had to go." And it was left by Taehyung.

I had to admit, I was a little relieved but a part of me wanted to see him and talk things out. As I sat in silence and slurped onto my noodles, a great chaos crashed into the house.

Unceasing sobs echoed through the living room and I instantly jumped, "Aera!" I gasped the moment she entered the house, cheeks stained with tears.

My heart began thumping against my chest the moment a thought entered my mind. She knows.

"What's wrong?" I asked, my throat tightening.

"T-Taehyung," She whimpered in between sobs and I feel a sting in my chest. "He broke up with me." She fell into my arms and I stood there, befuddled.

"What?" I let out as I looked down at her.

"He stopped by at my workplace and broke up with me," she said, her gasps interrupting her every now and then.

"W-why would he?" I asked, feeling a wave of guilt wash over me.

"He found out that I've been lying." She sniffled, trying to catch her breath as she looked up at me. "What am I going to do without him?" She sobbed, burying her face into the palm of her hands as I held her.

"I'm so sorry." I looked down at her broken state, no words coming to my mind.

"How is she?" Nani asked over the phone as I stared at my sister's form on the couch.

"Not good," I sighed, turning back to head to the kitchen. "She's barely eaten anything the past week." I said, emptying her plate of wasted food.

"I still don't get it. Why would Taehyung be so sudden?" She asked and I feel my chest knot.

"I d-don't know." I stuttered slightly, as I stared at the countertop where we almost had our first kiss.

"Has he talked to you about it?" She asked and I choke slightly.

"Why would he talk about it to me?" I asked, getting a little defensive.

"Because the both of you were friends?" She stated. "Right." I sighed, trying to get myself together.

"No, I've not seen him since they broke up."

"Areum, did something happen?" She asked out of the blue and I freeze. "Between the both of you?"

"What? No, nothing happened." I respond almost instantly. "Anyway, I have to go. I think Aera needs me." I said and instantly hung up, afraid that she was coming on to me.

I let out a deep breath as I walked back out to Aera.

"Aera," I whispered as I shook her lightly, "do you want to go up to your room?" I asked, looking at her uncomfortable position on the couch.

She nodded weakly, throwing her legs over the couch as she planted them onto the ground. She walked up to her room with tiny steps and the moment I hear her door close, I fall to the couch.

I massaged my temples, trying to calm the raging storm that took over my mind. I felt nothing but guilt drown me at this point.

The same thoughts that have been circling my mind for the past week swarmed me once again. Why else would Taehyung break up with Aera? But if I really was the reason, why hasn't he come to see me?

My thoughts were interrupted by a loud knock on the door. I quickly rush towards it, not wanting Aera to wake up.

I pulled it open and I feel my breath get caught in my throat.

"Taehyung?" I looked at him and he simply walks into the house. "If you're here to talk to Aera, you should leave. She's asleep."

He simply looked back at me with furrowed brows. "You know why I'm here." His said as he approached me.

My breath hitched as I backed away, one step at a time.

"Areum," he spoke as he came closer.

"Aera's upstairs, Taehyung. Probably crying herself to sleep." I interrupted him. "The least you could do is care." I said and he laughed bitterly.

"That's all I've done for her. I'm not going to subject myself to a one sided relationship. Which is why I ended it." He paused as he stared at me.

"And you should too."

"Taehyung, what are you even saying?" I let out, eyeing him come closer to me, and I feel my back hit the wall as I backed up.

He comes closer, hands resting on my waist as he stared down at me. His hand slowly travels lower, his fingers grazing my thigh teasingly, causing the muscles in my body to tense up.

"Say the word and I'm yours." He lets out, his breath shaky as his face remained inches away from mine.

I couldn't wrap my head around what was going on, it was all too sudden. "Taehyung, you just broke up with her."

"I know," he groaned frustratedly, pulling away as he raked his fingers through his hair.

"I just don't understand this feeling I get whenever I'm around you." He paces to and fro, fingers scratching at his head. "I've been with Aera for over a year, but these few months that I've known you has me feeling things I've never felt with her."

Taehyung turns back to look at me, "and I can't help it. All I want to do is be with you, to have you in my arms," He approached me once more.

"I feel myself falling for you more by the second and I can't stop it."
