"What the fuck," Percy said when he opened his eyes to see a three-headed dog drooling over him. "If I died, I'm suing."

"Perseus Jackson," A voice boomed from behind him and the demigod sighed because that person could only be his uncle. Or actual death coming to tell him 'what the fuck.'

The son of Poseidon tilted his head back to see the god and gave a fake smile, "Uncle Hades... Fancy seeing you here."

The god of the Underworld rolled his eyes, "Perseus, you died, you know that right? Shot three times- you had to go out big, didn't you?"

"I never half-ass anything," Percy admitted, wiggling out from under Cerberus and sitting up on the floor. "And can you please not call me Perseus? Percy's fine, Supreme Ruler is better."

"Percy," Hades shook his head in exasperation, looking like he was beginning to regret his life choices.

"Worth a shot," The demigod mumbled. "Anyways, where am I heading? I need to know so I can plan how I'm going to break out."

"You're not going to break out," The god rubbed his temples for a moment. "Elysium for you. Please go away now before I put you in the Fields of Asphodel."

"Aw, you wouldn't do that," Percy winked before skipping off to Elysium with Cerberus by his side. He gave the dog belly rubs for a few minutes before standing up and rubbing his hands, entering the gate, "Now, how do I escape without Furies biting my ass?"

"I don't think I like that imagery."

The son of Poseidon gasped so hard that he nearly fainted. He would have fallen but someone caught him, pushing on his shoulders until he was upright again. When he finally calmed down and looked around, he was surrounded by The Seven, Nico, and Thalia. "You- I-"

"Seaweed Brain," Annabeth came up, shaking her head and causing the curls of her hair to fall over her shoulders. "You died already?"

"I- Annabeth?" Percy took an aborted step forward, his hand coming up like he wasn't sure he was really seeing her, "You all- I really am dead, huh?"

"Nah," Thalia shook her head, a smirk on her face. "But you're pretty close. Uncle just thought bringing you down here would stop you from making stupid decisions."

"Like joining the Avengers and provoking the Hulk," Jason said, raising an eyebrow.

Percy shook his head, wagging a finger at his cousin, "I didn't provoke him, Jace. I played tag and made him milkshakes." He took a shaky breath, his eyes dropping to the ground, "I'm- I can't believe I get to see you all again..."

That seemed like the cue for them as they all gave him a hug, crying about how they missed him and didn't want him to go again. Annabeth was the first one to step back, a small smile on her face, "Seaweed Brain, come with me real quick."

"Okay," He nodded, detaching himself from Leo, who was sniveling dramatically on his shirt. He realized when he entered Elysium, his outfit changed to a Camp Halfblood shirt and a pair of shorts with converse. He tensed for a moment when she hugged him but soon melted into it, wrapping his arms around her shoulders. "Hi, Wise Girl."

Annabeth looked up at him, her stormy grey eyes shining, "Hey, Percy. I wanted to ask how you were. I heard you made a name for yourself."

"I did," He responded, stepping away from the embrace. He fiddled with his hands, unsure of how to proceed. "Look, Annabeth-"

"I know," The blonde nodded, smiling gently at him. "I heard about you and Tony Stark. It's okay, Percy," She put her hand on his arm. "You moved on and it's okay. You've been through so much, Seaweed Brain... I'm just glad you're healing."

"I still love you," The son of Poseidon said, looking away. "But..."

"Percy, I'm not mad," Annabeth spoke, gaining his attention once more. "I know you love Tony and I'm okay with it. Yes, it hurts a bit but you deserve so much and if he makes you happy then I approve of him. Nico heard what happened to you and he has a way for you to get back to the Avengers. We're not trying to push you out, Percy, but you have a choice to make. We'll be waiting for your answer, alright? But you have to make it soon. The window is small."

"Okay," Percy watched as her hand went down his arm as she stepped away and, for a fleeting moment, he held onto her fingers until she started walking to where the others were. "Okay..." He sat down heavily on a bench, putting his head in his hands, "Gods..."

"It seems like you have a tough decision to make," Someone said, taking a seat next to him.

"Yeah..." Percy looked up at the face of a smiling old man. He was wearing a comfy looking jacket and tinted glasses and Percy could have sworn he saw him somewhere before. "I'm Percy," He held out his hand.

The man shook it, "Stan. Let me ask you this, Percy. When you were with your friends, the one from your camp, did you have fun?"

"Yes," The son of Poseidon nodded immediately. "I had a bunch of fun."

"And you knew them for a few years, yes?" At the nineteen year-old's nod, he continued, "And how long have you known the Avengers?" His eyes twinkled when he said the name, like he knew something he didn't.

For a moment, Percy was concerned about how this man, Stan, knew he was a member of the Avengers but... It felt right that he knew. "Half a year at least."

"I'll tell you this, son of Poseidon," Stan said, wagging a finger at him. "You are so young and have so much ahead of you. You have so much more memories to create. When you are done, when you truly pass away, you can come back to your friends here. They'll be waiting for you." Stan smiled at the boy, "Whichever you choose to do, to stay or to go back, you are and always have been a hero. I'm honored to have gotten to meet someone that can go toe-to-toe with the Earth's Mightiest Heroes."

"I- Thank you, sir," Percy said, swallowing past a lump in his throat. "But I think the honor is mine. I- I'm sorry but I have to go. Thank you so much."

Stan watched him go, shaking his head lightly, "Kids these days, always so surprising."

"Percy!" Frank smiled at the demigod from where he had an arm around Hazel when he came over, "Did you make a decision?"

"Yeah," He nodded, fiddling with his shirt for a moment. "I have a best friend named Clint, a fairly dysfunctional team... And a boyfriend named Tony that I love..." He looked at all of them, his eyes lingering on Annabeth for a moment, "I miss you all everyday and I wish I could stay here... But I need to go home."

"We understand," Piper spoke, her kaleidoscope eyes shining. "We sort of knew you were gonna say that."

"You're still predictable," Nico smirked, shaking his head. "I can take you back. You ready to go?"

Percy gave them all one last hug before nodding, "Yeah, I-I'm ready."

Percy gasped awake, his eyes flying around the hospital room he was in, "Holy Zeus that hurt! Did you have to fucking electrocute me?!"

The doctor holding the defibulators looked at him with wide eyes, probably shocked that he could form complete sentences so soon after waking up. He turned his head and said something quietly to the nurse.

The woman nodded and rushed off. After a few moments, arguing could be heard as the Avengers decided who would go in first.

"I want Tony!" Percy said, throat straining a bit as his mind caught up with his body.

Tony quickly walked in, tears lining his eyes, "Percy, you scared the hell out of me! They- Oh, gods, you- I'm so glad you're okay," He grabbed the demigod's face, giving him a watery kiss. "Don't ever do that again!"

"I'm sorry," Percy pulled him down for another kiss. "I'm sorry. I love you. I'm sorry."
