Clint was the only one in the Tower at the time when he ran into the Winter Soldier.

Generally, one would be freaking out about having an assassin suddenly in their home but Clint lived with Natasha, so he figured he'd be fine.

Plus, the Winter Soldier was stuffing his face with the plums they had in the kitchen. Clint was pretty sure those were Loki's. Someone was going to die in the Tower and it was not going to be him.

He started making a sandwich, intent on ignoring the man until he absolutely had to talk to him. Which was now. "Can you pass the mayo? And turn on the coffee machine?"

The Winter Solider grunted before opening the fridge and tossing him the condiment before closing it and pressing the on button for the machine. He didn't spare the archer more than a glance, going back to calmly eating the plums.

"So," Clint drawled because he honestly didn't have any self preservation. "What're you doing here, Winnie?"

The dark-haired man gave him a death glare before slowly taking a bite from a plum, "Steve."

"Ah," He nodded, finishing up his sandwich and moving to grab a cup for his coffee. "That's fine but, uh... Fair warning, you'll probably get adopted by a demigod." At the man's look, he shrugged, "It happens."

"That..." The solider slowly put down what had to be his fifth plum, "Demigod?"

Clint went over to the coffee machine, shooing the assassin to the side, "Figure it out yourself. Fair warning though, he can be very violent. Don't touch Tony Stark."

"Why aren't you calling them?" The man asked suspiciously, glaring at him slightly.

"They're already on their way," The archer took a huge bite of his sandwich, hopping up on the counter and swinging his legs slightly. "JARVIS informed them. The real question is: who will get here first?"

Just as he said that, Bruce came into the kitchen with bleary eyes, a leather briefcase clutched in his hands, "Tea?" He barely spared the Winter Soldier a glance, actually shoving the surprised man out of the way to get to the kettle. He frowned at it when he realized that it would take a bit and whipped his head over towards the soldier, making him jerk back in surprise.

The dark-haired man looked at the cup of tea he had made himself that was sitting innocently on the counter and cautiously handed it over to the man. He nearly sighed in relief when the man quickly grabbed the cup and didn't take his arm with him in his haste to take it. "You're not a demigod."

Bruce lowered the cup and blinked at him, his eyes coming into focus. He stared at the man for a moment before he snorted, going back to sipping his tea, "No, I'm not. I'm a doctor."

"There is a demigod on the Avengers," The Winter Soldier said in a monotone voice. "The demigod is my target."

Clint nearly choked on his sandwich at those words, "Oh. Oh, shit."

--

Percy was in the car with Colonel Rhodes and Tony on their way back to the Tower when he got a text from Clint. He squealed loudly, making both of them jump.

"Jesus Christ!" Rhodey looked at the man with wide eyes. He was silently impressed that Happy didn't swerve the car in surprise. Then again, he was probably used to it. The Colonel watched as Percy blushed, fanning himself like a maiden, "What's up?"

"The Winter Soldier wants to kill me!" Percy's face was a bright scarlet and he clutched his phone to his chest like it was one of the most important things in his life.

Tony gaped at him, "What? You're so lucky!"

The demigod grinned widely, "I know! Oh, my gosh, I'm so nervous. How's my hair? Do I look okay?"

Rhodey squinted his eyes at the two men, "... I thought you two were dating."

"Oh, we are," Tony assured his best friend. "But that doesn't mean you can't have a... Celebrity crush."

"Cele- The Winter Soldier is a trained killer," Rhodey sat forward in his seat. "Doesn't that mean anything to you?"

"Sure," Percy typed something out on his phone before putting it in his coat, a thick black garment that reached just below his hips. "With all that you heard about me, Mr. Rhodes, did you forget that I am a trained killer as well? Or that Steve Rogers- Captain America, sorry- has killed people as well?"

The Colonel sat back with a huff, "He was at war! Of course he killed people!"

The demigod scoffed and looked out the window, "War. Yes, he fought in a war, I'm aware. I meant after. In this decade, this year, Steve Rogers killed people." His eyes flickered over to him, "Come on, Colonel, you're smart. When would that be?"

The man was silent for a moment, "When the Hellicarrier went down. The Winter Soldier was spotted there."

Tony smiled, allowing his boyfriend to fully take the reins of the conversation. It was something the demigod didn't get to do often. Percy was smart, very smart, but not in the way that Stark or Banner were. The son of Poseidon was observant and could pick up things that normal people would miss. It was almost scary how easy it was for him to do so.

"And why would the Winter Soldier be there? Couldn't be for the view. I'm sure one view was enough for him. Make a right here, Happy," Percy addressed the guard.

"Information," Rhodey answered immediately. Now that the demigod was asking the questions, the answers were so simple. "What information could you have that he wants?"

"I've told you about my job but I never told you all of it." Percy chuckled nudging Tony's leg slightly before focusing back on his boyfriend's best friend, "When there is something the director doesn't understand, he goes to Coulson. And when Coulson doesn't understand something, he goes to me."

"What about Hill?" Tony asked, looking over at him.

"What about her?"

"Well, doesn't she help Agent?"

Percy nodded, "She does but I meant something in my area of expertise."

Rhodey frowned, "What person do you know?"

The son of Poseidon opened his coat and took out some folded papers, handing it to the soldier.

"What is this? They're letters? It- It just mentions stuff like cats and Harry Potter. Why would the Winter Soldier come after you for this?"

Percy groaned and rubbed his face, "Happy make a left on the next street. Tony, where are those letters from?"

"Wakanda- Oh."

"I'm a SHIELD Agent, Tony. Coulson wouldn't waste my time with a random citizen from a barely known about country. He's not helping me make friends, he's having me find information."

Tony took a peek at the letters. Now that he was looking at the carefully written words, he realized that Percy never showed them to anyone, including him. He could see why now. "Wakanda has a king."

"I know but that's not who I'm talking to," Percy grinned, clearly enjoying being in control. "Happy, a right here, same destination. Why would a king waste time on something like this? No, I'm talking to someone related to him. Judging by the handwriting, it's his son."

The Stark looked over at his boyfriend in surprise, "How can you tell?"

"N'Jaku talks like he is around our age. He-"

"Where are we?" Rhodey interrupted, looking out the car window. They were heading down a dark street, the shadows of the buildings next to them covering the shadow. It wasn't the usual path Happy drove them and it was then the soldier remembered that Percy was occasionally giving the guard directions. "Why did you have Happy take us this way?"

Tony smiled, leaning back in his chair like he was having the time of his life, "We were being followed. Had to get rid of them."

"Fo- What? Okay, am I the only idiot here?" Rhodey growled. "Because that's what I feel like."

"No," Percy frowned at him. "That's my title. I claimed it when I was twelve. I was expecting this the whole time, since I started writing the letters really. Tony's just paranoid."

The Colonel groaned and was glad when they finally reached the Tower, "Alright but I have one more question before we go deal with the Winter Soldier." He pinched his nose and looked at the demigod, "Why are you wearing Pepper's jacket?"

"He came over to have coffee with us last weekend and took it," Happy answered, parking the car. He turned around in his seat to face Tony, "Need me to come in, Boss?"

"Nah," The genius waved him off. "We'll be fine."

--

Everything was not fine with Clint.

Tony, Percy, and Rhodey were due back any minute now and, judging by the text he received, the son of Poseidon planned on doing nothing about the Winter Soldier. That part was obvious by the texts he received in reply.

Barton's Phone:

Me: WS here 4 u

Persassy Jackass: OMG!

Persassy Jackass: Really?!

Persassy Jackass: Bring it

"Who are you texting?" The Winter Soldier was focused on him from his spot on the couch. Bruce had him move there because he was in his way in the kitchen.

"The demigod," Clint answered honestly, tapping rapidly with his thumb.

Me: WTF IS WRONG WITH U???????????????????????

When the assassin's eyes narrowed, Barton scoffed, "Relax, he's still coming. Dude practically has wet dreams about his own murder. He's a bit of a psycho."

The Winter Soldier blinked at that, leaning back in the seat as if he was relaxing. All of the occupants in the room, which just happened to be Clint himself and Maurice the Roomba, knew that was not true and that the man was on high alert anyway. Suddenly, the man reached behind him with his left arm, bring a person forward. He slammed them on the coffee table, somehow not breaking it with the force he used.

"Oo, boy," Percy grinned up at the assassin, pupils blown wide. "I love a man in uniform." He didn't at all seem concerned about the fact that the metal arm was now around his throat or that a gun was now being pointed at his head with the other. "You won't shoot," Percy teased because, like Clint said, he was a bloody psychopath. "You're shaking. Hi, James- Or do you prefer Bucky?"

Clint blinked at that, barely acknowledging Tony and Rhodey, who came from the elevator when the whole ordeal started. From what Percy said, he didn't know that it was Bucky and not the Winter Soldier until after he was being held down. "Are you out of your mind?! What if he killed you?!"

The son of Poseidon tilted his head back so he could look at the archer, "Come on, you spork, you know me. I know enough about the Winter Soldier to know how he kills." He looked back at Bucky and saw how his face fell, "Oh, don't look like that, Bucky-Baby, it's a turn on for me. Anyway, he wouldn't waste his time pinning me down. He would have just shot me."

"You know a lot about the Winter Soldier," Bucky said, blinking down at the man.

"I'm a big fan. Now, not that I'm not enjoying the position but can you let go of me? I can't get this jacket dirty."

The blue-eyed man nodded, letting go of the man and offering his metal arm to help him up, "Sorry 'bout that. You surprised me. I'll make it up to you."

Percy gave him a lopsided grin, "No worries." He sat on the couch next to the man to his right, practically cuddling into his side. It was at this point that Rhodey decided to nope out of the building.

Bucky was going to say something (because he was pretty sure the demigod was dating Stark) when he felt a weight drop to his left. Tony Stark grinned blindingly at him, latched onto his metal arm and running his hand up and down it.

"Oh, my gods," Bruce rolled his eyes at them. "You two have no shame." He bent down and picked up Maurice the Roomba, covering his tiny eyes, "Not in front of the children. Come on, Clint. Let's let these two... Talk."

"Right," The archer nodded, following the scientist and Maurice to the elevator.

Bucky looked at the two men beside him, blinking slowly, "I have... Questions."

"We might have answers," Tony smiled, lifting up the metal fingers one by one and letting them fall back down.

The soldier breathed out slowly, "I've been... Seeing things. Monsters. I thought I was going crazy, you know, but then there was Thor and Loki. My handlers talked about a demigod on the Avengers, one from New York, and I thought you might be able to tell me what the hell is going on."

"The fact that you can see the monsters makes you more attractive," Percy sighed, leaning his head on the assassin's shoulder. "I'd be happy to explain anything to you, beautiful."

Tony chuckled a bit at his boyfriend's antics, "Do you think he's a demigod?"

The son of Poseidon hummed in thought, throwing a leg over Bucky's, "Bucky-Baby, do you remember your parents?"

The soldier tensed, clenching his right fist slowly, "I... I remember my ma... But not my dad."

"Hmm," Tony nodded slowly. "'Kay. We can tell you about the monsters and stuff but, no offense, beautiful, we're not giving you anymore weapons than you already have."

"Plus, things like bowling balls can kill them just fine if you run into any of them," The demigod in the room added. "I speak from personal experience."

Bucky nodded, "I understand. How would I know for sure if I'm even a demigod?"

Percy tilted his head and scratched his cheek, "I could... Ask?" He shrugged, "But not right now. Steve is due back any minute now and I don't know if I'm going to kill him or not."

"Why would you kill him?" The soldier asked, alarmed.

"I don't know," The demigod hummed, closing his eyes and leaning his full body weight on the man. "I haven't decided yet."

Tony sighed, still messing with the soldier's hand, "He ate the last of the pizza. Also, there is the Hellicarrier thing."

"Right, that," Percy nodded. "I'll kill him for the pizza."

"No, you won't!" Steve came running up the stairs, a stack of pizzas in his arms, "I bought more!" He blinked at the scene in front of him, frowning, "... Percy, is that Ms. Potts' jacket?"

Now it was Bucky's turn to frown, "That's all you're going to ask?"

Steve blinked at him slowly, wiggling his nose slightly in thought, "...You want some pizza?"

The soldier stared at him for nearly a full minute before he held out a hand, "Give me a box." He smiled winningly at the two men next to him, "Would you like to share?"

It was Tony that answered, a grin making its way on his face, "Oh, yes, please."

--

Loki and Thor returned to the Tower to see Clint and Bruce talking amongst each other in hushed tones. Normally, that would be fine but those two rarely talked to one another quietly like that when Percy and Tony weren't around unless they were planning something.

"Where is our father?" Thor asked as the two gods walked up to the mortals, a bag slung over his shoulder.

"He and Tony are flirting with the Winter Soldier," Bruce answered flippantly, like there wasn't anything wrong with that whole sentence. "They're in the living room."

Loki nodded and he and his brother walked over to their 'parent,' "Father, we have returned."

The son of Poseidon looked over from where he was being fed pepperoni slices by the Winter Soldier, smiling brightly at the two, "Loki! Thor! How was your trip?"

"It was... Eventful," Loki allowed, tilting his head. "The Allfather is not happy with you."

Percy raised an eyebrow, "Why?"

Thor smiled widely, putting his hands on his hips as he said proudly, "He is not happy that you have taken his two sons away."

The demigod's mouth opened and closed for a second and he sat up fast, holding one of Bucky's biceps for support so he didn't fall back down, "What did you two say to him?"

"Oh, nothing you should worry too much about," Loki said with an innocent face (which only served to put Percy more on edge). He turned to Tony, using his magic to make a book appear in his hands, "I have picked this up for you from the Allfather's personal library. It's a book on the Bifrost."

Tony gasped loudly, making grabby hands towards the book, "Gimme! You're the best, Loki!"

Loki gave Thor a side glance and smirked triumphantly, causing the god of thunder to frown, "Yes, I thought of you."

Thor blinked at his brother for a moment before a smile took his face. "I anticipated this," He murmured. He took the bag from his shoulder and opened it, pulling out a silver dagger with a leather scabbard laced with gold. He held it out to the stunned son of Poseidon, who was still thinking about what his 'sons' may have said to the Allfather, "Father, I give this to you."

"Thank you," Percy blinked, taking the weapon. He looked down at it, his eyes taking in the way the metal glinted in the soft light, creating flecks of light around them. It reminded him a bit of the Hunters of Artemis. "I love it."

Bucky cleared his throat, looking between the two gods and the two mortals next to him, "They're... Why do they call you 'father'?"

Tony grinned and reached forward for another slice of pizza from the box on the coffee table, "Percy decided to adopt Loki a few weeks ago and I decided to adopt Thor. We think they'd be better off here on Earth with us than on Asgard."

Percy nodded, holding his hand out for a pepperoni from his boyfriend, "Mmhm. I know for a fact that godly parents can be dicks. Not all of them, of course, but Odin is no Poseidon. In fact, I just might have to talk to the Allfather."

Loki's eyes widened, "No, urm, no, I don't think that is necessary, Father. Thank you."

"I'd pay to see that," Bucky shrugged, ignoring Steve's shocked face. "Somehow, it doesn't surprise me that you've decided to adopt two gods."

"Yeah, well," The demigod smiled. "I can get away with a lot of things."

"I do not mean to interrupt," JARVIS spoke, his voice immediately silencing the occupants in the room. "But the elevator is in use."

Steve blinked, getting up from the couch, "Natasha is  with Bruce."

Clint grinned sharply, "We got company!"

Percy snatched the pizza boxes and flipped over the back of the couch just as the elevator doors opened and HYDRA agents came running in with large guns. "Can't I have a quiet night?" He murmured to himself, eating a slice of cheese pizza with a pout. He peeked over the furniture to see Loki and Thor guarding Tony, just like he thought they would. He counted nine people, thought that could be wrong since math wasn't his thing.

The son of Poseidon could see Bucky standing next to the two gods in the room and he could tell that Bucky was trying his hardest to pretend he wasn't himself but instead the Winter Soldier. It would last a bit but not forever and he knew he had to do something to get the attention off some of the Avengers.

"Pepper, forgive me," He whispered, taking off the jacket. He threw it up, letting the fabric fan out, and flinched when it was riddled with bullet holes. He caught it when it fell back down, studying it closely. He grabbed his knew dagger, taking it out of the scabbard. He could use his sword but it didn't work on mortals, so he would have to use his gift from Thor. He really wished Natasha would come out from the kitchen but he knew that the woman was frustrated from wherever she went and was venting.

"Dammit, guys," He muttered, frowning. "Are you all just gonna make me do all the work?"

"Are you the male strippers I
