Blake's P.O.V

As soon as I stepped out of the car, a wonderful smell wafted up my nose and I growled. She was definitely here. I turned over to Sheldon and ordered, "Break into the security system and check the cameras; I'm going to head out with the other boys to find Hayley so take care of Mia. I don't want anything to touch that little girl's hair, am I clear?"

Sheldon rolled his eyes, opened his laptop and started to type crazily, "No problem, Alpha, I'll be done in two minutes and 25 seconds. And for Mia, I can physically fight while hacking a software so no need to worry."

I nodded, "How many guys do you think we'll have to fight?"

"Well, I already hacked the system so I can see through the cameras and there's seven men in total. Two are at the front door. Two in the backyard. One prowling on the side of the castle. Two are inside the house, guarding only one room- I think Luna and Nicholas are in there but there's no cameras in that particular room so you'll have to find out."

My hands balled into fists. I really hope that he didn't hurt Hayley in any way. The idea of his hands on her repulsed me and I exhaled slowly.

"I turned off the alarms, I advise you all to go now before someone notices."

I nodded thankfully at Sheldon and turned towards the other guys, "Chris, you're coming with me to fight the men at the front. Leroy will knock out the one whose prowling and Tyler, you'll take care of the two at the back. You're dismissed."

As soon as the orders were out, they each picked up a weapon and took off. Chris stayed glued to my side, his stare determined and his knife unsheathed, "Let's go save the Luna."

"You go left, I go right," I ordered and he nodded. We slunk past the gates and hid behind the bushes. The two front men were clearly visible to us but they were too busy chatting to notice. Slowly edging against the wall of the castle, I turned my head towards Chris and on the count of three, we leapt out of our hiding place. The two guards didn't have the time to react when I brought down my fist at the same time as Chris.

With a distinct thud, they crashed to the floor, unconscious. I fist-bumped Chris and nodded approvingly, "Not bad at all."

Chris grinned, "Yup, let's hide them now."

I was bending down to pick the man up from the floor when the most spine-chilling scream hit me like a freight train. My breath caught in my throat and I spun around so fast that I nearly got a whip-lash, my vision blurred and my heart pounded.

The scream was so loud, so desperate and so piercing that it echoed through the doors and into my shuddering heart. No. My body trembled and four voices along with mine resounded in my head.

"Hayley."

I ran.

I tore up the stairs without taking a single breath and leaped into the air. My body metamorphosed into a wolf, shredding my clothes in pieces and I landed on four legs. Two guards standing in front of a door, turned to me and screamed in horror. Ryder, my wolf, tore past them and crashed into the door making the lock break on impact and it swung open.

Something in me snapped. Maybe it was seeing the face of that jerk. Maybe it was because his hands were hooked to her underwear. Maybe because he was on top of her. Or maybe it was because the girl I loved was crying.

A feeling so intense zipped through me and I knew I wasn't Blake anymore. I was Ryder. The angry-at-the-world, snarky, possessive, authoritative Alpha. The one who killed with no mercy. My human body had never felt so connected with my wolf. We were merged into one and more powerful than ever.

Ryder's fangs grew and his shackles rose. A fierce powerful growl erupted from his throat and his glare intensified. Get away from my mate.

Higgins's eyes widened in shock and he cowered back instantly.

Is he a wolf?

No, he's pure human. A soon-to-die human being.

Ryder knelt down, preparing to attack and to my horror, Nicholas leapt on the bed and pulled Hayley. His hands wound around her neck before she could get away.

"I'll kill the girl if you come any closer!" He shouted.

Ryder pushed his neck back and released a long chilling howl and Higgins visibly started shaking. Hayley was trembling with sobs and I so badly wanted to hold her in my arms and comfort her but that bastard was holding her neck. It was the second time I saw Hayley cry and it still shook me to the core. I hated it when she was sad. I hated Higgins for making her cry and for touching her.

"Don't get nearer or I'll snap her neck!" He hissed and Ryder's anger rose.

How dare he threaten me? How dare he touch my mate?  Ryder growled.

Stop it, Ryder. If you keep getting angry, you'll do something rash and Hayley's life is at risk.

You think I don't know! I want to rip him apart. He hissed.

I want to do that too but we clearly can't do that.

Hayley's a fighter- if she could just thrust her elbow into him, he'll let go.

Yes but she's in no position to do that. Physically and emotionally.

What do we do?

I glanced at Nicholas and he pressed tighter onto her throat, Hayley's face went red and she started choking on her tears. My heart constricted at the sight of my mate suffering so much. I wish I could convey to her some kind of message to fight back.

A sudden idea struck me. Ryder! Mind-link her!

What? Are you stupid? She's human, we can't.

But she's our mate. Try it!

We haven't even mated yet so no bond has formed- it won't work.

Try it. Send her something so powerful it'll go through. There must be a faint link somewhere- she's our mate.

I tell you it won't work.

Ryder, he's hurting her and his naked chest is against her back- do it!

That got him reacting. Okay, shut up I'm concentrating.

Ryder breathed in slowly before delving into darkness, searching for the bond. He reached out in his mind, testing for any pull. I stayed quiet and let him concentrate. My gaze turned back to Higgins and I nearly exploded- he was caressing her stomach and his hand was slowly inching up. I am going to kill him.

Found it. Ryder muttered and I growled in frustration. Quick! He's touching her.

I'll kill him later- I've taken hold of the rope but it's too faint.

Then shout something powerful while holding on. It should go in.

Okay. Ryder took in a deep breath and roared: Kick him back Hayley! Push him away and we'll save you.

I turned to Hayley to see that her tears had stopped and she was staring into space. Maybe the tug had worked slightly.

It's too faint.

Pass me the rope, we'll do it together.

Here. I felt the tug in my hand and I knew that I was holding the bond.

At the count of three we pulled and shouted simultaneously: PUSH HIM AWAY.

Hayley's head snapped up and she stared at us in bewilderment. Her elbow automatically slammed into Nicholas's gut and he cried out in pain. Ryder let go of the bond and leapt onto the bed in no time. Hayley scrambled onto the floor and flew for the door.

I turned my attention back to Ryder who was growling at Higgins angrily. The latter was cowering against the bed-post. The door flew open and Chris strutted in with Leroy behind him.

"I'll deal with him, Alpha."

Ryder growled ferociously. I'll deal with him, myself.

"You'll deal with him later. The Luna is much more important," Chris snatched Higgins forwards and before the  bastard could protest, he was handcuffed and roughly pushed off the bed.

"What the hell is happening? Why is there a wolf? Why am I being handcuffed-" He was cut off when Leroy dug a piece of cloth into his mouth.

"-Nughg fhdjs," he mumbled incoherently and was taken away by Chris and Leroy.

I took over my wolf and changed back into a human. I snatched the sheets and wrapped it around my waist before turning around.

Vibrant blue eyes stared into mine and my heart swelled, "Hayley," I muttered softly.

"Blake," she whispered and I swept her up into my arms.
