Chapter 3-

My head snapped back to hear the source of the voice and my whole body instantly started vibrating with chills. My skin flushed and a strong unknown emotion washed over me. I started to feel warm all over and a tingling sensation blossomed in my stomach.

What the hell is happening to me?

As soon as I met midnight blue eyes, my whole being froze- literally. I had no idea why but I was transfixed by those eyes. So many emotions went through me but I couldn't even decipher what they meant. Right now, all I could see were those eyes who were helding me captive against my own will.

"Ughreg," a grunt was heard right below me.

The blue mysterious eyes immediately broke off the spell by glancing at the bloody boy. I slowly blinked before registering my surroundings. Oh my god! What the hell happened?! I can't believe I just openly stared at some guy!

Shaking my head in disbelief, I straightened myself up and turned to Leroy sprawled on the floor.

"Here," I stuck out my hand reluctantly. His eyes widened in horror and he withdrew even further. Rolling my eyes, I grabbed one of his hands and pulled him up effortlessly.

I then released his hand as quickly as I had taken it and turned around. My time was up, it was next to three a.m in the morning and I had to go to the grocery to buy Mia some breakfast.

"Wait! I recognize u!"

I whirled around and saw one of the bad boys pointing at me with an accusing finger. What did he mean by he recognized me?!

"You're from Riverhigh school like us right?" He whispered but I had heard perfectly well. I clenched my fists and vigorously shook my head.

"No-"

"Yes! I saw you once with that hood! I knew you were familiar!" He gasped, interrupting me. Panick rose into me as I shook my head again. No, no, no, no!

By now all the other boys were looking at me- especially Leroy who was scrutinizing me while holding his bloody nose. My mind racing at a hundred miles per hour, I spun around, grabbed my gained money from the announcer and leapt out of the ring.

"Hey!" The guy screamed but I had already disappeared in the crowd of people. I twisted myself back to the bouncer and with just one glare, the door had already opened. I burst out into the fresh night air and ran to my bike.

And just like that, I hopped on my bike and rode off away from those Bad boys who could easily blow off my cover.

¶¶¶¶¶:

"6 dollars," the gruff man said. I stuffed through my well earned money. I slapped a ten dollar bill on the counter and received change before grabbing the stuff and walking out of the grocery shop.

I then attached the plastic bags to my bike before driving back to the only place I could call home. By the time I was walking up the apartment stairs, the sun was already peeking out from behind the clouds.

Yawning, I unlocked the doors to come face to face with a little girl.

"Mia!" I yelled in surprise, "What are you doing awake at a time like this?"

"I woke up because I was thirsty but I didn't see you so I waited," she fidgeted with her fingers. Regret filled my veins as I locked the doors before cradling her into my arms. I deposited all the stuff on the counter before hugging her tightly.

"I'm so sorry that you had to wake up in an empty house," I whispered. She buried her face into the nook of my neck.

"It's fine, I just waited for thirty minutes not much. Where were you?" Mia asked, her voice slightly muffled.

"I was at work but now I'm back," I held her tighter. It must have been awful to be in a dark cold house all alone. I bit my lip to prevent myself from crushing her but then a brilliant thought came into my mind.

"I have something for you!" I exclaimed and gently released Mia on the floor. With a big grin on my face, I rummaged through the grocery bags and pulled out a small soft pink rabbit which had the cutest face ever.

Mia's jaw dropped as I gave her the rabbit.

"Do you like it?" I asked nervously while shifting on my feet. "Why aren't you responding? It's bad isn't it? Maybe a bit too pink or too small! I shouldn't have bought it-" My ramble was instantly cut off when the air was knocked out of me. It took me a few seconds to realize that my sister was hugging me so tightly that I had trouble breathing.

"Does- does this mean you like it?" I succeeded in squeaking out.

"LIKE IT?! I LOVE IT! Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you so much! You're the best older sister in the ENTIRE world!" She screamed while jumping up and down. My cheeks colored in happiness and I couldn't help but let out a huge grin.

"It's just a small gift," I shrugged but failed to conceal my smile.

"It's AMAZING! I've been wanting a little pink rabbit for like FOREVER to complete my collection!" She beamed. I hugged her tightly.

"I love you, Mia, your the best little sister ever too," I said sincerely.

"Thanks Pig," she then released me and skipped into our room. I rolled my eyes, she must be adding it to her collection.

Shaking my head, I took out two big bowls and opened the Cheerios box that I bought for breakfast. I poured fresh milk and stuck a spoon in each bowl.

"Mia! Breakfast is ready!" I called out and soon enough she appeared, her cheeks rosy and a huge smile on her face. It was nice to think that I was the cause of her happiness. At least for once I could call myself a good sister.

"Cheerios!" She giggled and grabbed a spoon. After she had fully eaten I picked up our plates and washed them up.

"Come on, we're going to be late for school," I grabbed her little hands and after making sure that I had not left anything important in the apartment, I locked the door and we descended the stairs.

Thank god disgusting bob is not here!

I pulled Mia on my motorbike and gave her an helmet before revving up the engine and zooming down the street. Swerving to escape all the cars, I finally stopped at Bumblebee Primary School.

"Here you go, kiddo. Now zoom off," I smiled playfully.

"Thanks Pig," she smiled up at me before kissing me on the cheek and running off towards her friends. I  repositioned myself on my motorbike before riding down the road.

I walked down the hall, my head down and my movements brisk. I kept on looking around me for fear that one of the Bad Boys would see me and blow off my cover. All the teenagers that were currently bustling around me, looked right past me as if I didn't even exist....and that was perfectly fine with me.

I paused once I arrived in front of my classroom. Hesitating between entering or skipping class because I was so tired. Sighing, I walked into the empty class and sat at my usual seat: which was found completely at the back.

I didn't even bother waiting for the pupils or the teacher as I layed my head on the desk and let a well needed sleep envelop me.

"Mom, where are you and dad going?" I frowned in disappointment as mom put on her favorite coat.

"Aw, Hayley. Don't worry, dad and I are only going out for dinner. I mean it's Valentine's day!" She grinned in excitement and gave me a hug. I couldn't help but give a little smile too. I had really wanted my parents stay today but I didn't want to stop their happiness either.

I liked seeing them united and so in love with each other.

"There's pizza in the microwave and for once I'll let you and your sister drink soda," Dad chuckled. A that precise moment, a small ball of hair appeared running towards us.

"Thou called me faddy?" Mia showed her two lost front teeth.

"How many times have I told you not to run in the house? You can fall and get hurt!" Mom scolded her.

"Wherth are ou foing?" she ignored Mom and asked. I nearly swooned at the cuteness of it all.

"Dad and mom are going to have dinner," I said while picking her up in my arms.

"Can I come?" Mia shrieked while clapping her hands happily.

"Sorry but not this time, sweetie," dad sighed as Mia's face fell.

"Cheer up, Mia. We're going to have fun too! How about yo go prepare the movie 'Tangles' while I bid mom and dad goodbye?" I smiled as my little sister sprung back to life. She hopped out of my grasp and ran to the TV.

Shaking my head in amusement, I turned back to my parents.

"You'll be alright?" Mom asked.

"Of course, I'm seventeen," I protested.

"Okay, okay, we'll be going now," she hooked her arm with my dad's before blowing a kiss at me.

"Love you, Mom. Love you, Dad. And be careful," I waved at them as they headed for the car.

"We will!" Dad said and he drove off.

I closed the door and turned back to join Mia-

"MRS. HOODS!"

I instantly jolted out of my sleep. It took me some seconds to adjust to my blurred surroundings. As soon as I saw myself in a classroom, I abruptly lifted my head up and there stood a very angry looking Mr. Porks.

At that moment, I silently declared that his name suited him well.

"I've been calling you FOUR times, young lady! I would have given you a detention if the bell hadn't rung so consider yourself lucky," he squawked. I pretended to be scared and without a word, I scurried out of my seat, grabbed my bag and rushed out of the empty classroom. Phew, that pig of a man.

I headed for the cafeteria with my bag carelessly slung over my shoulder but then abruptly stopped in front of the cafeteria doors. The badboys always arrived 'fashionably late' at the cafeteria so if I quickly took my food and got out of there, they wouldn't see me.

I slipped through the doors and speed walked to the lunch lady.

"Takeaway please," I said in a gruff voice. She wordlessly plopped some sloppy mashed potatoes and meatballs in a paper bag and handed it to me. I refrained from cringing at the sight and turned around to get out of there but luck wasn't on my side today.

I smashed against a solid chest and all the food splattered on my BEST jacket. I slowly lowered my head to look at my spoiled clothes. My eye involuntarily twitched- which meant that I was ready to throw a flying punch at the bastard who did that. Gripping the paper bag, I tried to calm myself down because I was in a cafeteria which meant that I couldn't make a scene without gaining unwanted attention.

"Sorry," the guy said.

My whole body froze as familiar chills ran down my spine.

Oh no.
