I was not going to lie. Mia was my sister, and I believed that she was very mature for her age and that it wouldn't hurt to tell her about Blake and the others bringing us here by force. By the end of my recite, she was watching me with wide eyes.

"Pig...that's incredible!" She gasped, her little brown locks bouncing up and down.

"I really don't know Mia...what I do know is that we're staying here temporarily...we can't depend on them to feed us, it wouldn't be fair for them," I said hesitantly.

"Yeah," she sighed.

I gave her a wistful look before standing up and opening the small bag I had brought with me. I pulled out fresh clothes for both me and Mia.

"Here Mia, take these clothes in the bathroom," I handed her the clothes and she happily skipped into the bathroom. While she was taking a shower, I took a piece of cloth and water and started to rub at the blood drops on the floor and chair.

Maybe I was too harsh on him...he hadn't done anything too wrong, all he was trying to do was to help me...

I sighed and at that precise moment Mia stepped out of the bathroom with a full blown smile.

"I'm guessing you liked the hot shower," I let out a laugh.

"Yes! It was awesome! I wanted to stay there forever, you'll love it Pig!" She squealed.

"I'll take your word for it," I smiled and headed for the shower too. As soon as the warm water hit my skin, I was in pure bliss. It's been months since I've had a hot shower and I wanted to bath in it for as long as possible but I knew that I had to get out eventually.

I sighed in contentment as I put on a fresh pair of denim jeans and my band tee. That was a really nice shower.

"Come on Mia, let's go," I held her hand as we walked out into the hall. Hmm...If i remember well I think Chris came up this staircase...

As I came down the staircase, I heard laughs drift a bit further. I followed the sound and finally arrived to the dining room. My mouth nearly dropped at the huge chandelier hanging from the ceiling and the big table right under it.

"Hayley! You're here!" Jenny, Blake's mum rushed to me. Her smile was so contagious that I found myself smiling back at her.

"I'm sorry for the lateness," I politely said.

"Oh you're not late at all! Actually, I was about to bring the food out!" She laughed.

"Oh that's great! I wanted you to meet my little sister, Mia. Mia, this is Jenny, Blake's mom," I introduced them. Mia instantly went pink as she squeaked a 'hi' and hid behind my legs.

Jenny squealed and knelt down, "Oh my god, aren't you the cutest little girl ever!"

"I thought, I, was the cutest one, mom," Emily said teasingly, "Oh! Hey, Hayley,"

"Yeah, yeah, but you've grown," Jenny said and rolled her eyes while I acknowledged Emily by giving her a friendly smile. Now that I looked closer, Emily was the spitting image of her mother- except for the dark blue eyes, she had Jenny's smile and sleek brown hair. The only difference was that Emily had greyish eyes but nonetheless was really beautiful.

"Oh! You can choose to sit anywhere while I take out dinner," Jenny suddenly said.

"I can help you," I instantly volunteered.

"Oh no, I wouldn't want to bother you-" Jenny started.

"I insist," I replied.

"Oh fine, it'd be great thank you," She sighed.

"Okay, um, where do you want to sit Mia?" I asked but Mia didn't respond. She was staring at something. I followed her gaze and saw a little cute boy laughing with Leroy. A little smile played on my lips as I pulled her towards the boy. Mia seemed to realize what I was doing and instantly pulled away.

"Come on, Mia, I'm sure he'll be a good friend," I smiled.

"But Pig...I've never had a friend. They never want to play with me," She sighed.

"Well then, there's a first for everything, now come on," I gave her a grin and gently pulled her to him.

"Excuse me, but can my little sister sit here?" I asked. The little boy turned to me and his gaze drifted to Mia. He gave her a big smile.

"Sure! Hey, I'm Tony!" He instantly started a conversation with her and I could see her loosening up and eagerly replying to him. Leroy stared amusingly at them and chuckled, It seemed like Tony had completely forgotten about Leroy.

"I see Mia is really forming a friendship with my son," Jenny suddenly appeared by my side.

"I agree," I nodded firmly.

"Okay! Now to the kitchen!" She clapped her hands and skipped out of the dining room with me slightly jogging to catch up. Yes, she skipped. I followed her into the pristine white kitchen in wonder. My nostrils were tingling as a heavenly smell filled my nose. I watched as Jenny put on her muffs before opening the oven and making me nearly die in hunger. Oh my god. Oh my GOD!

I couldn't take my eyes off the huge chicken.

"Sweetie, could you please take the salad dressing for me?" Jenny interrupted my hungry thoughts. I reluctantly tore my eyes away from the wonderful food and nodded politely. I took the two plates of salad dressing and balanced it as I trudged after her.

Just as I placed the two plates on the table, Jenny tripped on the carpet and she made for the floor. Everything went in slow motion. In the corner of my eye, I saw Blake catch his mother before she could hit the floor and the chicken soaring through the air.

Blood rushed into my ears, pumping loudly as I quickly calculated if I could catch it. Then I leapt into the air, my fingers grazed the plate and suddenly the atmosphere sped up and I was hitting the ground....with the chicken on the plate in my hands.

I landed with an oomph but I could feel my lips twitch with a triumphant smile. Everyone flocked around me, asking me if I was fine and if I had hurt myself. "Are you okay, Hayley?" Blake's deep voice resounded, worriness seeping in. My cheeks reddened and I nodded frantically while still cradling the plate.

"Oh my god, sweetie, I'm so sorry!" Jenny threw her arms around me just as I had placed the chicken on the table. Talk about a close call.

"Um, it's no problem ma'am," I muttered and hesitantly hugged her back.

"Don't you dare ma'am me! It makes me sound so old when I'm a thousand times younger," she scolded and Emily started coughing suspiciously.

"Yes, yes, you look like you're eighteen mom," She rolled her eyes and added a few fake coughs to make her point. Jenny grinned, completely missing the evident sarcasm in her daughter's voice.

"Thank you darling," she smiled before clapping her hands, "Now, now everyone please take a seat."

Just as I sat down, my eye caught Blake's and I turned my head around to stop myself from getting lost in them. Now wasn't the time to look like a love-sick puppy.

I was pulled out of my thoughts when the chair next to me was scraped back. The unmistakable woody and masculine smell filled my nostrils. Out of all the chairs around the table he had to choose mine. I intently focused on my food and luckily someone spoke up.

"So, Hayley, how old are you?"

I glanced up to see a late middle-aged man with jet black hair and warm brown eyes looking at me from across the table. That should be Blake's father. Except for the eyes and hair, they looked identical.

"I'm 17, sir," I replied.

"Oh dear, just call me David," He smiled and I nodded.

"What do you plan to do after college?" David continued.

"Um..." I frowned, "I- I- haven't really thought about that..." I looked down.

"David, stop worrying the poor girl and eat your food. It's going to get cold," Jenny rolled her eyes.

"I wasn't worrying her! I was being friendly," He scoffed.

"Friendly my ass-"

"Mom! There are children here!" Blake interrupted her and the whole table erupted in laughter- I even cracked a smile. And all through dinner, everyone was chatting and laughing. Even Mia was talking animatedly with little Tony. It was nice to see that she was happy. Oh no. I suddenly remembered something important. There was a fight tonight! Not just any fight but it was a grand prize competition!

But I wouldn't be able to leave the table now...Maybe I would still have enough to time to fight the last opponent if everyone quickly finished eating. Luck was on my side today.

Most of the guests were tired so they went to bed early. I told Mia to go upstairs to our room while I helped Jenny with the dishes.

"You're the perfect girl for my Blakey," Jenny suddenly chirped.

I choked on my own saliva and sputtered, "Wh- what-" She gave me a knowing smile. "I've seen how he's looked at you throughout dinner,"

"Re-really?" I gulped.

"Yes! It's so sweet!" She squealed. The woman is more delusional than I thought.

"Um...I'm feeling quite tired...I think I;m going to bed," I shuffled on my feet.

"Sure! Night sweetie and thank you so much for all the help!" She hugged me.

"No problem," I smiled sheepishly and flew upstairs. Mia was already asleep and it was eleven.

I threw on my fighter clothes and bandaged my wrists. I had a feeling tonight's fight would be really different. And as I got out of the room and locked the door, all I could think was about Blake.
