'Or I'll rip you and your girlfriends throat out, with my teeth.'

Last night I didn't get much sleep, I was having the nightmares again. After what happened with my parents, I started getting nightmares. My body had been tossing and turning all night, the sheets becoming entangled with my feet as a layer of sweat beaded over my skin. Nobody knew about them and I intended to keep it that way. The less people that knew, the less people I had to worry about me.

After Stiles had dropped me home, I fell asleep almost instantly but only for a few hours. The glimpses and the memories made me awake, a shrill scream falling from my lips. I was covered in a cold sweat and I had tears streaming from my eyes. So at exactly 4:11am I decided that i would take a shower and get ready for the day, maybe try to look decent for once.

The shower was hot, the water burning me slightly as I cascaded down each of my arms and my back, my skin now tinged a slight red. My mind wandering aimlessly, I couldn't stop thinking about my nightmare, the glimpses seemed to haunt me and it was almost as if I was back to that day again. It felt so real, like I was waking in my shoes. Now I know what Scott felt like after his dream with Allison.

I felt like I was falling apart, the overwhelming sadness that followed the faces of the people I loved that left and I started to cry and cry and cry and was actually glad to live alone for once so that nobody could hear me. I was so fed up of crying, my eyes feeling sore and puffy from the waterfall of salty liquid that only mixed with the shower water.

By the time I was out of the shower, it was 5:09am, the time seemed to have fly by but still I couldn't bring myself to care, I couldn't bring myself to feel. I got dressed into an oversized jumper, the warmth and comfort of it feeling nice against my skin and some black jeans and my converse. As I looked into the mirror at myself I hardly recognised myself, I looked like I have lost a lot of weight, my bones beginning to stick out and I had dark bags under my eyes and overall I looked a mess.

I blow dried my hair, my arms aching as they moved across each section and decided to apply minimal makeup, the concealer covering any evidence of the tears I had shed and the darkness from the not sleeping. My hair being pulled up tightly into a ponytail, not caring much for neatness but rather looking put together. Now the time was 6:30 and I sat back on my bed just staring at the wall.

I reached over to my bedside drawer, opening the wooden drawer, it moved with a creak and grabbed my antidepressants, I haven't taken them the last few weeks as I was starting to feel better but today I wasn't feeling too great. I placed the pill into my mouth, a mouthful of water sending it down my throat. I don't know how long I stayed staring at that wall but then my phone rang, the annoying sound of the ringtone blaring in my ears as I checked the caller ID and it was Scott. I answered trying to let my voice sound as normal as possible after all the crying.

"Hey Li, you wanna come over to mine before school so I can tell you what happened with Derek last night?" He asked sounding as if he had just woken up, his groggy motioning voice evident and it was now I was realising how early I had actually awoke.

"Yeah sure, I'll be there in thirty minutes" I said mentally cursing myself for my croaky voice, the raspiness making it sound as if I had just woken up when in reality it was the opposite.

"Ok great, see you then, bye Li." He said and I took a silent breath knowing he hadn't noticed the change in my voice.

"Bye Scotty." Were the last words I spoke to the boy on the other line.

And with that I ended the call, the device being shoved into my back pocket as I walked downstairs to the kitchen. I wasn't really feeling too hungry this morning, the thought of food making my stomach churn sightly. It would take me about fifteen minutes to walk to the boys house, the idea of walking through the park taking my appeal, the swings across from my house catching my eyes as I passed them, smiling to myself knowing I had just added another ten minutes to the journey.

I walked silently, my footsteps and breathing inaudible as I walked, listening music through my earphones that hung from my ears until I felt my body connect with another, the impact causing me to be sent backwards slightly until I regained my balance.

"Oh I'm so sorry" I heard the person say, my eyes trailed to the floor in embarrassment.

"Oh no don't be sorry it was totally my fault, wasn't looking where I was going." I said making eye contact with none other than Isaac Lahey, his eyes baring into my own as a look of recognition crossed his face.

"Oh h-hey Li are y-you okay you s-sound like you've been crying." He asked, stuttering over his words giving me a concerned look

"Yes I'm fine Isaac, I haven't been crying I'm just a little tired but I should be asking you if you're ok with that cut on your face." I said examining the cut that reached from his eyebrow to his ear and looked rather deep. My hands staying by my sides as I learned the boy didn't like physical touch, but his concerned look made his way onto my own face.

"O-oh I'm fine I j-just fell down the stairs." He said smiling but I had a strong feeling that he was lying, the way his tone went quieter and his eyes moved away from mine.

"Are you sure Isaac, you know if you ever need to talk I'm here." I said showing him that I was genuinely concerned for him, my tone sincere but also comforting and I had to resist the urge to pull him into a hug.

"I'm s-sure Li I'm f-fine just clumsy b-but you're a good friend, my only friend." He said to me smiling widely, a look of sadness crossing his eyes and I couldn't help but notice it.

"Ok well I best be going, I have to meet Scott before school but we'll talk later ok, bye Isaac."
I said walking away from the curly headed boy as he muttered a goodbye back, his eyes trailing my retreating figure as I walked away.

~~~
I arrived at Scott's a mere few minutes after my encounter with Isaac. I was worried for the boy as he always seemed far to quiet and always came to school with a new injury, whether it was a black eye or the cut he was sporting today, to say I was worried would be an understatement. My mind had filled with a hundred possibilities, each one seemingly worse than the last.
"Hey Li, I said are you listening?" Scott asked waving his hand in front of my face as I seemed to have zoned out thinking about Isaac.
"Sorry what did you say Scotty?" I asked as I watched the boy sit on his bed, nail clippers in hands as he began to use them, my eyebrows furrowing in confusion.
"I said are you okay, you seem kinda off." He said giving me a concerned look, his eyes glancing over to me and I so badly wanted to tell him about my terrible morning but as I thought about the possibility, I realised how pathetic it sounded.
"Yes Scotty I'm fine just tired and why exactly are you trimming your nails." In all the years that I had known Scott I have never once seen him trim his nails, I didn't fail to notice to light blush that tinged at his cheeks, his gaze falling to his feet.
"Oh no reason, just thought they were getting to sharp." He said awfully suspiciously but I didn't press the subject further.
He then began to explain to me how he went to Dereks last night, the betas having a rather aggressive altercation that lead to the cracking of bones and the dripping of blood. It had led him to find out that he wasn't the one that bit him but it was another kind of werewolf called an alpha. The words seemingly dissipated from my brain, going in one ear and out of the other as he spoke as my mind began to wander, he had changed the topic of discussion to a certain brunette.
~~~

After me and Scott arrived at school, my depressed nature only seemed to worsen, the feeling of sadness causing me the urge to scream instead of cry as he began to explain what he told me about last night to Stiles. The three of us walking alongside each other in the hall to our first class. Let's just say Stiles had a lot of questions.

"So if Derek isn't the alpha, and he's not the one that bit you, then who is?" Stiles asked the millionth question of the morning.

"I don't know." replied Scott, those same three words on repeat, he seemed just as fed up of the questions as I was. Stiles then leant forward in his chair, his body almost toppling over onto the ground and continued bombarding Scott with questions.

"Did the alpha kill the bus driver?" The mole covered boy asked next, his voice beginning to irritate me wildly.

"I don't know." replied Scott for the millionth time.

"Does Allison's dad know about the alpha?" He continued obviously not taking the hint.

"I DON'T KNOW" Shouted Scott, he was now done with the boys persistent question asking. Most of the class then turned to look at us wondering what the commotion was about, their eyes trailing between the three of us who showed sheepish grins but their attention was quickly back to their desks as the teacher passed out their paper results.

My grade not one of surprise, a A+ in large red letter written at the top, the first real smile of the day making its way onto my face. Stiles had a B+, him seemingly proud of himself as he shoved the paper into my face to see and Scotty boy had a D-. We both looked over to Scott sympathetically knowing that he didn't have time to study with all this werewolf drama going on.

"Dude you need to study more." Said Stiles as he peered at Scott's grade. He just received a glare in return. "That was a joke, Scott, it's one test, you'll make it up dude."

"Scotty, do you need help studying, all you have to do is ask." I said as he sighed, a grateful expression being sent my way.

"No it's okay Li, I'm studying with Allison after school." He said with a cheesy grin on his face talking about his girlfriend. Stiles then began to clap his hands, his actions confusion me.

"That's my boy." The mole covered boy spoke, and with that I knew exactly where this conversation was going.

"We're just studying." Said Scott as he continued to smile, him seemingly knowing that the words weren't true.

"No you're not." Retorted Stiles

"No I'm not?" Asked Scott looking clueless until he finally seemed to catch up to what Stiles was insinuating.

"No if I'm forced to live vicariously through you and you miss out on this opportunity I swear to god I will have you de-balled." Said Stiles as Scott just nodded along as if he wasn't paying attention. Then it hit me, I can't believe I just realised.

"Scott you disgust me." I said shaking my head rapidly at the boy who turned to look at me in utter confusion.

"What the hell did I do?" He said holding a hand to his heart as if saying I had broken it.

"Now I know exactly why you were trimming your nails this morning, never in all the years I've known you have I ever seen you trim you nails." I said looking accomplished with myself and Scott has now turned a deep red colour signalling that I was right. "I knew it."

"Okay, whatever just stop with the questions and the interrogation." He said, his comment mainly aimed at the spastic boy beside him.

"Done no more questions, no more talk about Derek or the Alpha, especially Derek who still scares me." Stiles said earning a laugh from us both.

I tried to focus back on the class, my eyes watching the teachers mouth speak but the words didn't seem to reach my ears and I was zoned out again. This time my mind wasn't filled with the thoughts of Isaac, this time I was staring at my buzz cutted best friend.

I had known Stiles for a long time, since we were three to be exact but I had never noticed how pretty his eyes are. They are a whiskey colour with small specks of gold when they hit the sunlight, my green orbs watching as he bit the pencil in his mouth. He seemed to sense somebody staring at him and turned his head slowly, not wanting to alert the attention of teacher and upon noticing it was me gave me a smile, my lips upturning to the gesture.

~~~
It was now the end of the school day, a sigh of relief leaving my lips upon the realisation, it had been a long day, the classes seemed to morph into one and I was now sat in Stiles jeep waiting for the boys to come from practice. I was listening to music through my headphones , my mind focused on the lyrics until I saw something in the parking lot, or rather someone. It was Derek but he looked ill, like on the brink of death ill.
Quickly I clambered out of the blue car and noticed the two brunette boys I was looking for approaching the car. I quickly averted their attention to the current situation to which they rushed to Derek's side me right behind.
"Oh god, not here!" Groaned Scott as he tried to help him up, the mans body having toppled over to the ground.
"Give the man a break Scott he could be dying." I said to which both boys glared at me, not liking how I was defending him even though it was rather obvious I was right.
"I was shot." Said Derek, his voice sounded weak, shaky which was unusual from his monotone sourwolf voice.
"He's not looking so good." Said Stiles stating the obvious, his eyes trailing the beaded sweat in the mans forehead and his unusually pale looking skin.
"Well Stiles how do you think someone looks when they get shot huh!" Both boys looked quite shocked at my outburst but quickly turned back to Derek, the anger in my tone surprised me also but I wasn't surprised, considering I had only slept a few hours and I could rip somebodies head off right about now.
"Why aren't you healing?" Asked Scott, him looking for a bullet wound except he couldn't see one.
"It was a different kind of bullet!" Exclaimed Derek who seemed to be getting weaker by the second.
"A silver bullet?" Asked Stiles clearly too excited with the current situation.
"No you idiot, now help me up."Derek said as both boys reached down and grabbed one of his arms to help steady him. Scott's eyes seemed to have widened in realisation as he spoke.
"That's what she meant when she said you had 48hours." The younger wolf told him, his mind thinking back to a certain crazed blonde.
"What? Who said I had 48 hours?" Derek asked Scott, not knowing of the situation the boy had found himself in.
"The one who shot you-" he started but stopped himself as Dereks eyes began to glow a bright steel blue before returning back to their normal colour. "What are you doing? Stop that!" He told Derek sounding like a parent telling off their child.
"I don't think he can." I told the boys to which Derek just nodded his head slowly, showing them I was right.
"Help me put him in your jeep." Said Scott sounding beyond annoyed with this situation. Hesitating slightly, both boys shoved the werewolf into the front seat of the jeep. After placing him down he grabbed Scott's shirt pulling him closer.
"I need you to find out what kind of bullet they used." He told him, the boys eyes showing that he was both scared and also confused. In fact, both boys looked rather confused by Dereks request.
"How the hell am I supposed to do that?" Scott retorted, wanting the man to elaborate on his words.
"Because she's an Argent." He started referring to the younger werewolf's girlfriend. "She's with them."Scott obviously annoyed by the mention of the brunette scoffed.
"And why should we help you?" He asked, now more annoyed than anything else.
"You'll help me, because you need me." Derek replied, a cocky smirk plastered on his face as he spoke. This seemed to be a good enough reason for him as he was went to reply.
"Fine, I'll try." The beta said, before he turned around to my other spastic best friend saying "Get him out of here."
And with that, I climbed over Derek to the backseat much to his protest and off we went leaving Scott to deal with all the people that were queuing behind us, beeping their horns and questioning what the hell was going on. We were driving down the road in the direction of the preserve in a silence until Stiles spoke up.
"Try not to bleed out on my seat! We're almost there." He told Derek clearly wanting to be anywhere but here and the man shot him a glare.
"Would it kill you to be more considerate." I asked to boy who seemed to ignore my comment completely. Dereks eyebrows seemed to have raised at Stiles previous comment.
"Almost where?" The blue eyed wolf asked. Stiles looked over to the man and thought about how obvious it was.
"Your house." He stated, Derek instantly started shaking his head at the boy.
"What? You can't take me there!" The words making the situation seem more difficult, where exactly do you take a dying werewolf.
"Why not?" I asked at the same time Stiles said "I can't take you to your own house?"
"Not when I can't protect myself." Was his response. Stiles now seemed beyond annoyed and pulled over to the side of the road glaring at the man.
"Fine. What are you going to do if Scott doesn't find your magic bullet, huh? Are you dying." he asked so quickly it was hard to make out what he had just said.
"Of course he's dying Stiles the man was shot for Christ sake, I mean look at him, tell me he doesn't look like he's dying." I said to which both boys looked at me, this was the first time they had acknowledged me on the ride and they both glared.
"Not yet, I have a last resort." Was Dereks reply as the two decided to ignore my comment once again.
"What do you mean? What last resort?" He enquired only to be met with dead silence.
Derek then began to take off his leather jacket, him struggling to pull the material from his arms as he rolled up his sleeve revealing a bullet hole, it was disgusting, it was Turing a dark black and dark coloured veins were covering most of his arm. Stiles tried to cover his eyes as he is rather squeamish.
"Oh my god! What is that? You know what, I don't even want to know. You should probably just get out now." Stiles told the man who didn't seemed phased by his comment.
"Start the car, now." Demanded Derek
"I don't think you should be barking orders with the way you look. In fact, I'm sure if I wanted to I could drag your werewolf ass to the middle of the road and leave you for dead!" He exclaimed back to the man, the words making my eyes widen due to the confident tone used.
"Start the car." Started Derek in a scarily deep voice "Or ill rip you and your girlfriends throat out, with my teeth."
"He's not my boyfriend." I replied at the same time he said "She's not my girlfriend." But Derek didn't seem to care about our relationship status, rather he just was focused on not dying. We were driving aimlessly, up and down roads for an unknown amount of time before Stiles pulled over once again and calls Scott who answered after a few rings.
"What am I supposed to do with him?" Was how Stiles greeted Scott, no hi or hello how are you, just straight to the point. I
