"I don't thi-,"

"I'm not asking you to jump willingly into my arms we can start slow, just get to know each other again. I just want to be around you without your death glares and threats giving me the fear. All I want is for you to forgive me enough to at least consider taking me back. Hell, right now you don't have to forgive me completely, we can work on everything," he continued to plead. The words coming out in a rush as the tears falling from my face splashed onto the marble flooring beside his knees.

"I have some things to ask you first," I hesitated, was I doing the right thing? Was I being a delusional little girl like I had been when I was younger? Was I making a mistake?

"Anything treasure," he smiled softly, getting up from his knees to stand in front of me. His closeness clouding my mind as I cleared my throat, taking a step away from his intoxicating cologne. The need to press my naked body against his was far to tempting as I cleared my head of all the unholy acts I had been imagining. Reminding myself to apologize for my sins when I got home.

"Has she been here?" His face paled slightly, his eyes going wide at the mention of the subject as my heart clenched within my chest. Why would I even care? They had been in a relationship and had been engaged of course she had been here. The female products on the plane probably all belonged to her. He claimed several times he didn't love her but you don't have to love someone to go on holiday with them.

"Why would you think that treasure? Of course she hasn't set foot on this island. She knows about it, she went through my files one day and saw several pictures but I have never brought her here and I never would. This place is all ours, it's all yours," he spoke softly although I could see in his eyes that I had offended him by accusing him. He deserved it though, after he hurt me.

"Let's go take a seat in the kitchen, we can talk in there and get you some coffee," he smiled sadly, walking past me as he led the way through the luxurious home into the equally amazing kitchen. Stored with everything you could ever possibly need or want as a chef.

Sitting on the stool I took in my surroundings in awe, ignoring the stares from Darien as I admired the beautiful interior design of the place. Something I had always been fascinated in but never pursued it.

Realizing I hadn't gave Darien an answer I twiddled with my fingers. I didn't know what to do. I couldn't just forgive him and jump into bed with him no matter what my body felt towards him. Would it be different this time? Would he show me the love he once did or would he be cold with me if we were to pursue a relationship?

"Why was there female products in the bathroom on your plane," I spoke quietly, looking at the counter in fear of seeing the guilt in his eyes. He had no need to be guilty, he wasn't with me, he had every right to fill all of his desires.

"They were for you, when I was trying to figure this mess out I decided when things got too much I would need to take you away from it all so I got it all bought for you, the clothes included," the words made me gasp as I stared the man that had dotted on me and cherished me the past few months despite my attempt to get him to stay the hell away from me. The man who didn't take fuck off as an answer.

"I would never disrespect you like that, not ever again Sapphire," he spoke sincerely as I nodded in response, felling like a complete and utter bitch. Why was it any of my business?

"So will you forgive me? Or at least consider forgiving me?"

"I will consider it," I nodded, I couldn't promise him anything. I didn't even know if I did forgive him. What he done was that long ago and after all the recent events it seemed unimportant now but it was. No matter how long ago and how young we were he had hurt me and I wasn't willing to just crawl back to him. Especially after all these years. We were both changed people.

We were both a lot older with a lot of different opinions about life compared to our young 18 year old self's. I was no longer the chubby little push over and he was no longer an open book. Showing glimpses of himself before he turned into stone. As he sat in front of me with a tear soaked face and pleading eyes I knew he was being genuine. He wanted to try. I would do that, not for him but for myself.

Life is too fucked up not to live life the way you want and I had always wanted him. If though, he does hurt me in the slightest he will be kicked to the dirt before he can say sorry. I would forgive him with time.

Nodding he sent me a soft smile before turning on the coffee maker, knowing I had an obsession with coffee, even when I was young I was addicted to the stuff. Unhealthy I know but life in general is unhealthy, especially living in my family.

Smiling I took the cup from him, tensing as his rough fingers stroked across my finger tips, my breathing coming out unsteady as I carefully pulled the mug away from him with a quick "thanks."

"I got some people to fill the wardrobe in the spare room for you, I know we didn't bring any of your things so if you need anything else I will get it for you," tears welled up in my eyes once again at the thoughtful gesture though I shook them away. I had to stop crying, I was trying to be strong.

"You didn't have to," I smiled slightly, taking a sip of my coffee as the wonderful taste sparked my sensitive taste buds into action. My body craving something else although I wouldn't allow such a thing.

"Of course I did Treasure, can't have my girl walking around in the same clothes for god knows how long we are going to be here," he smirked as my heat rushed to my cheeks. I wasn't his girl. I told him I would considerate things but I still wasn't his. Although he was wrong I couldn't bring myself to correct him, the flutter in my stomach and the tightness in the chest had me keeping my mouth shut.

"I think we should get you to bed," the coffee that was in my mouth covered the table as I coughed in surprise, my eyes wide and my cheeks red as I tried to form the words.

The amazing sound of his masculine laughter filled the room as my heart beat increased, a smile pulling at my lips at the sight of Darien happy.

"I didn't mean like that, although if you wanted to I could always make you feel better," he sent me a wink as I looked away from him. Refusing to look at him as he walked around to where I was sitting.

"My innocent treasure," he whispered, his face close to my ear as my body shivered at his close proximity.

His phone vibrating on the worktop had him pull away from me, an array of curses leaving his mouth as he held the phone to his ear.

I decided to ignore him, looking through the cupboards before coming across some crisps to eat, smiling as I tore the packet of salt and vinegar open. The scent filling my nose as I let out a moan. I had always loved my junk food, one of the reasons why I was fat as a child. I was unchaperoned most the time...

"What do you mean you can't find him!" Darien bellowed down the phone, the loudness causing a pinch of pain in my head as I scrunched my face up, hoping it would ease the slight ache.

"I want more men and I want you to look everywhere, I don't care what any of you have to do just find him. He will not get her," he sighed, hanging the phone up as I placed the crisps on the table.

Before I could say anything I was wrapped in his arms, my face pushed against his chest as his heartbeat pounded in my ear. His arms tight around me as he controlled his breathing.

"I won't let him have you," he whispered, placing a kiss on my head as I melted into his arms.

The thought of Kieran coming for me when I got home terrified the life out of me but here I felt safe. I had Darien, he wouldn't let him get me.

"He won't hurt you like her," he murmured, moving to place soft kisses along my cheek as I almost missed the words that left his mouth.

"Her?" in an instant Darien had pulled away from me, running his hand through his messy hair as he breathed harshly out his nose.

"You have no idea how much danger you put yourself in by getting into that car with him, by being with him," he groaned out, shaking his head as if he couldn't believe how stupid I was

"What?"

"His name is Peter Devouski, he was in a relationship with Courtney Anderson before your mother hired him. He was charged with assault, rape, kidnapping and murder. He pleaded not guilty, apparently he didn't mean to strangle her to death whilst rapping her. He was only 16 at the time, no one knows how he got out of jail or who helped him but he did. He changed his name to Kieran Ballentine and married a woman called Tiffany Alexandria, they have two children together. A 2 year old and a new born baby," he spoke calmly as bile rose in my throat. My body shook uncontrollably as a sob left my mouth.

"Married, rapist, murderer?" I cried, hugging myself as I felt sick to the bone. I had kissed him, let him touch me. I had let the hands of a cold blooded killer roam my body.

"Make it go away," I cried, grasping onto Darien as he picked me off the floor, "please get him off me," I screamed into his chest, holding him tightly.

Please don't kill me for the cliffhanger :)...
