A valet opens the car door for me and I step out of the vehicle. Landon stands next to me and I put my arm through his.

Landon and I walk down the red carpet and photographers are taking our pictures. Landon kisses my cheek and I hear 'Oooh's,' and 'Aaah's' from the crowd.

A female photographer asks. "Is it true that you two are back together?"

No, we're putting on a show for you.

There's a few more flashes from the cameras. Every time I blink I see the white flashes. Landon pulls me away from the paparazzi and leads me into the building.

I whisper. "What's the party for?"

Landon smiles. "I'm getting an award on behalf of Parker Inc. We saved a Lawyer firm going under. This firm handles pro bono cases and they won a major case during the time there company was going through difficulties."

I applaud. "Congrats, Landon.

A waiter walks by with a tray of drinks. I pull two glasses off the tray and give one to Landon.

I put the glass to my lips and drain the whole glass.

Landon shakes his head. "Mikayla, you're drinking on an empty stomach. You should get something to eat."

A waitress walk by with a tray of crackers and cheese. I take a couple off the plate and stick it in my mouth. "Ish that better?" I ask, with food in my mouth.

Small pieces of the crackers spill out of mouth.

Landon scrunches up his nose. "That's disgusting. Can you behave yourself tonight?"

I finish eating the food in my hand. "I'm going to the dance floor."

He frowns. "There's no music."

I point to the DJ setting up his equipment. "There will be."

I walk away from Landon.

On the way to the dance floor the DJ turns on the music and it comes out of the speakers around the room.

I grab another glass of wine. I throw the contents back.

Landon moves towards me. His jaw is tight and he has a scowl on his face. "You're embarrassing me."

I pull him close to me. I wrap my arms behind his head. "Is this still embarrassing you?"

He smirks. "I love it when your body is this close to mine. It still does things to me." Landon places his hand on my hips and we sway.

Landon spins us around the room and we crash into a waitress and she spills all the drinks on the floor. The shards from the glass are under my shoes and I can feel a few shards in the heels.

I look at Landon. "I have glass in my shoes."

Landon lifts me up and carries me over to a chair. He pulls my shoes off and grabs some napkins. He cleans my shoes and then he lifts my feet checking them. He looks at me. "You have a piece of glass in your foot. I need to take it out."

Landon wraps a couple napkins in his hand and places it over the glass.

I close my eyes as he pulls the glass out.

I scream.

He hands me a napkin to hold over the wound.

A group of people from the party take photos of this.

This is all I need. To be posted all over the papers for tomorrow. I hope Mariana doesn't read the gossip rags.

My phone beeps and I pull it out. I look on my Facebook page and see a photo of Landon and I together.

I love this picture.

Landon is smiling as his hands are wrapped around my waist.

A hundred people like the photo of Landon and I together.

Stupid social media.

I turn my phone off and place it in my bag.

Landon puts a couple of band aids on my foot. "Don't walk too much or your foot will hurt."

I roll my eyes. "Thanks, Dad."

I hear someone tap the microphone a couple of times. "Can everyone hear me?"

"Yes," someone shouts from the crowd.

The woman on the stage smiles. "Great! Tonight we are here to celebrate the man that saved our pro bono firm from ruins."

I look around the room and I see Logan standing next to a blonde.

"I would like to give Landon Parker this award for helping us. I know we don't get paid the way we should. But, giving back to the community is something I value."

Landon steps onto the stage and takes the award from the woman. He kisses her on the cheek. "Thank you, Miss Kyle." He looks into the crowd. "I would like to say 'all of you deserve a round of applause for what you do."

Everyone starts to clap and some guy standing close to me whistles.

Landon smiles. "I remember one night I was with my fiancé, Mikayla, and she was telling me about a Lawyer that worked pro bono. Ever since the story she told me I've been looking into pro bono firms. When I saw this one going under I knew I had to do something to save it. I also hoped it would be me closer to the woman I loved." He looks at me. "Mikayla Harrison, I'll always love you."

He holds up the award.

The group applaud.

I move toward the stage as Landon jumps off it.

He pulls me into his arms and leads me to the dance floor.

On the way to the dance floor I take two glasses from the waitress. I give one to Landon. "Congrats on getting an award for helping these guys." I clink glasses with him.

I look around the room for my brother. I see Logan with the same blonde. "I'm going to say 'hi' to my brother."

Landon places his hand on mine. "You should wait for him to come to you. He knows you're here."

Logan walks towards us with the blonde. He holds the girls hand. "Hey, Mikayla. Landon. I was surprised to learn it was you who saved the business."

Landon shrugs. "You have to thank her for it. She was friends with a guy that did pro bono work."

Logan looks at me. "Why did you need a pro bono lawyer for?"

I cross my arms. "I didn't have a pretty life, Logan. I'm not going to tell you everything that happened to me while I was living with the Harrison's. But, know while you were getting everything you wanted I was surviving."

I take a glass from a waitress and drink the contents quickly. I pull Landon on the dance floor.

Landon and I dance across the room. He spins me around and dips me a couple of times.

Logan and his blonde friend step onto the dance floor and they start dancing.

I take Landon's hand and leave the dance floor.

He looks at me. "Where are you going?"

"I need a drink. I didn't want to leave you on the dance floor with the single ladies." I move away from him and I search for some water.

I walk over to the bar and pour myself a glass of water. After the water I move toward the dance floor and I see a blonde attach herself to Landon.

When he sees me he pushes her away.

I shake my head and move to the dance floor. I see a tall guy with brown hair dancing on his own. I tap his shoulder.

He turns around. "Hey, darling. Do you want to dance?"

I nod. "I do. Can you help me make my boyfriend jealous." I point to Landon.

He smiles. "I'd love to help you out."

I put my hands behind the guys neck and he place a hand on my lower back. He moves us across the dance floor.

The DJ pulls the microphone towards him. "Now we are going to do the Waltz. Everyone grab your first partner.

The guy looks at me. "Partners?"

I nod.

Landon holds the blonds hand and pulls her onto the dance floor with him. He looks at me and mouths. "Two, can play with game."

The song starts. I waltz with the guy.

Half way through the dance the DJ says. "Switch partners."

Landon sweeps me into his arms. He spins me and dips me.

While I'm dipped Landon kisses me and his scent surrounds me. I gulp as his soft lips touch mine.

I open my mouth slightly allowing him entry.

He nips at my bottom lip before pulling away. "Let's get some fresh air before we go home. I need to sober you up before we head to Grandmother's. I need you at work by ten tomorrow."

Landon and I walk over to the bar and I get a cup of water. We exit the building and walk into a beautiful garden.

I can hear water drizzle out of something. I look around the garden for the source of the noise and I don't see it.

Landon pulls off a white rose and gives it me. "You should wear this in your hair."

I laugh. "Thank you for the rose."

He always told me he wasn't a roses and chocolate kind of guy. Now, he's proven to be that type of guy. Why has he all of sudden changed?

Landon pulls me into his arms. "Will you stop thinking this over too much? I know I used to tell you that I'm not into this stuff. But, after you left I realised the woman I want to do all this stuff for, is you."

We walk around the garden more and stop in front of a fountain of a boy and water drizzles out of its mouth.

I look into the night sky and see a full moon and stars glistening. I see a shooting star and I close my eyes.

I wish my daughter was with me.

I open my eyes and look at Landon.

He smiles. "I saw the shooting star. I thought you needed the wish more than me."

I shake my head. "You're a dork."

Landon pulls me closer to him. "Only when it comes to you I become a dork." He places his phone the bench. "Will you dance with me?"

"Yes,"

Landon goes through his phone until he finds the right song. I recognise the song as it comes across the speakers. 'Dangerously in Love' by Beyonce.

Landon starts to sing the words to me. "Because I'm dangerously in love you, Mikayla." He sways us back and forth. He holds me close to him.

He whispers the words in my ear as we move around the garden.

I see people exit the building and they watch Landon and I dance. I turn away from the attention and close my eyes.

The song comes to an end and the crowd applaud. Landon looks over at the crowd and I see a few flashes from the photographers.

I want to see that picture in the magazines.

Landon lets go of me and he walks over to the photographer. "I want the photo's that you've captured tonight. How much do you get for photos of me? I'll double that amount tonight."

The guy tells Landon the price.

Landon gives the guy the money and he gives him the memory card. Landon puts the card in his pocket and he moves over to me. "I got the photos. We won't see the ones he took in the magazine."

I look around the garden and see a couple of paparazzi still around. I point to them. "The photo will still be in the magazines. At least I'll look great in the magazine. On Saturday my parents are inviting the reporters to their house. They want to tell everyone that they found their long lost daughter."

"Is Juliet there's?"

I shake my head. "No, I should really help her look for her parents. I'm afraid that we might not find her parents alive."

Landon hugs me. "We'll check it out without her knowing. If we find something we will tell her."

"Thank you, Landon."

"Let's go home." Landon take my hand and we walk to the car.
