I am going to start doing dedications starting from this chapter. I would like to dedicate this chapter to everyone who has been following this book from the beginning. I truly appreciate it. To those who have read the original story I hope this one has improved for you.

I've been in the hospital for a couple of days. The doctors wanted to keep an eye on me just in case something happened.

This morning the doctor walked into my room and told me that I was going home today. My brother Josh was with the doctor. He agreed that I could go home as well. But, he wants me to call him if anything happens.

I climb out of the bed and walk into the bathroom with my backpack. I step into the shower and let the water wash over me. I pick up the soap and wash my body.

After the shower I pull on a pair of jeans and a t-shirt. When I enter the room I see Landon and Grandmother in the room.

They are arguing about whose home I'm going to once I'm released from this place. Landon wants me to go home with him because he misses me.

Grandmother wants me to go home with her because she doesn't trust her Grandson with me at all. She wants him to prove to us all that he deserves me.

I'm sure he'll prove that to all of us.

I whistle gaining there attention. "That's enough. If you both don't stop I will spend the night at a motel." I look at Landon. "I don't want to go home with you yet. Come to Grandmother's on Friday night and I'll go back to yours then."

Grandmother looks at me. "Is that what you want Mikayla?"

I nod. "I miss being with Landon. He may be an idiot at times, but, that's what I like about him."

She laughs. "I agree with that."

Landon shakes his head. "Hey, that's not fair. The two of you ganging up on me!" he pouts.

I pull out a tissue from my bag and give it to him. "Cry me a river." I gather my things and turn to Grandmother. "I'm ready to go."

Landon looks at Grandmother and I. "Before you go I need to tell you something. My driver got the number plate of the car." he scratches the back of his head. "Grandmother it was, Jasiah."

Grandmother's face turns pale and she moves to a chair. She looks at Landon and I. "There's something important that I need to tell the two of you. I didn't want to make a huge deal out of this." She takes a deep breath. "Jasiah is trying to kill your Grandfather and I. He has it in his mind if he kills us he will get his fortune from the will."

I move quickly over to Grandmother and I wrap my arms around her. I have tears running down my face. "We need to stop him, Grandmother."

She nods. "The CIA know about this. They are working with me to get him behind bars." She looks at Landon. "You need to stay away from your cousin. I don't want you to have any contact with him or you'll ruin the case."

I didn't think things could be this bad.

Landon's hands forms fists and his jaw tightens. "I'm going to kill him if I see him, Grandmother." he looks at me. "He almost took Mikayla away from me and I won't forgive him for that."

Landon kneels in front of Grandmother. "You can't leave me, Grandmother."

She laughs. "I'll never leave you. If I die at the hands of your cousin..." she pauses and looks at me. "... Mikayla, you need to make sure that the do an autopsy."

Landon shakes his head. "Why can't I do that?"

Grandmother touches his face. "I trust her to get things done discretely. You will cause a scene like usual."

I help Grandmother out of the chair. "Is the limo driver waiting for us outside?"

She shakes her head. "Landon, drove me. He'll take us home."

I look at Landon. "You should stay for dinner."

He smiles. "I will." He looks away from me. "When we get to Grandmother's I want you to go straight to your room."

Josh enters the room and looks at Landon. "He's right, Mikayla. Tomorrow you can start doing everything like usual. The boys and I are thinking of coming by." he looks at Grandmother. "If that's alright with you?"

She nods. "That's fine. You can call me Grandmother. You're like family to me."

Josh smiles. "That's kind of you. I never got to know my Grandparents. My parents never talk about them."

Grandmother touches his arms. "Well you have me now. You should stay for dinner tomorrow night as well. I want to get to know Mikayla's brothers."

I give him the paperwork. I hug Josh. "I'll see you tomorrow, Big Brother."

He laughs. "Yeah, you will, little sister."

I exit the hospital with Landon and Grandmother. I look around the carpark and I see a guy wearing a suit and sunglasses. He has an earpiece in his ear.

They are here to protect Grandmother.

I climb into the car. I look around the car and I see something shiny in the upholstery.

They bugged the car.

I squeeze the device in my hand. I look around the car a little more. I find six more bugs. I throw them out the window.

Landon turns towards me. "What are you doing, Mikayla?"

I bring my finger to my mouth. 'Shhh,' I mouth. I point outside and then at my ear.

He nods.

I step out of the car and have a look underneath. I find a tracking device and I throw it on the ground. I climb inside. "You can go."

Landon pulls the car out of the parking lot. "How did you know about that?"

I lean forward. "I thought the guys guarding you were supposed to be conspicuous? Instead I saw them. That's why I searched the car. I don't want them listening in on my conversations." I look at Grandmother. "I have a device that will block them out when I get to your place."

Grandmother shakes her head. "You can't use that device all over the house. You can use it in your bedroom."

I slump in my seat. "Fine,"

Landon pulls the car into the driveway and he pulls to a stop in front of the mansion. Grandfather steps out of the house and he walks over to Grandmother. He kisses her cheek. He looks at me. "I'm glad you're home, Mikayla."

I smile. "I'm glad to be back, Grandfather. My brothers are joining us for dinner tomorrow night."

Grandfather wraps his arms around Grandmother. He looks at me. "I like those boys. They are welcomed here anytime."

Grandmother looks at the house. "It's cold out here. I'm going to sit next to the heater."

We enter the house and I sit in front of the heater with Grandmother.

Landon stands next to couch. "Does anyone want a hot chocolate, tea or coffee?"

"I'll take a hot chocolate with two marshmallows?"

Landon laughs. "I never forgot the way you take your hot chocolate."

Grandmother and Grandfather say. "Tea," at the same time.

That was cute!

Grandfather gives her a kiss. "After tea we should go upstairs."

Grandmother hits him. She shakes her head. "No, we have visitors. We don't want to be rude."

He looks at me. "Mikayla and Landon can look after themselves. We deserve some time to ourselves."

Landon enters the room and catches the last part. He scrunches up his face. He looks at me. "Do you still want to stay here until Friday?"

"Yes, I want to stay until then. I have somethings I need to help Grandmother with and I won't be able to do it while I'm living at your place. Besides, I need to rest and this place is better than yours. You will be at work and I won't have anyone to keep me company."

Landon place the hot chocolate in front of me.

I wrap my hands around the cup warming them up. I take a sip of the hot chocolate. I burn my tongue.

I put the cup on the table and lean against the table.

Grandmother and Grandfather drink there tea.

Landon sits next to me and he pulls me into his arms. He looks at me. "Do you have plans on Sunday?"

I shake my head. "Why are you asking?"

Landon shrugs. "I was just curious."

It's Valentine's Day on Sunday. What if he's planning something for me?

I look at the ground.

*Flashback*

The first Valentine's I spent with Landon he told me. "Don't expect chocolate, flowers or a romantic meal with me. I'm not the type of guy that does that shit! If you want someone like that you can leave."

I wrapped my arms around him. "I don't need that stuff. I'm happy as long as I have you."

I lied when I said that.

He smiled. "This is why I love you. Do you want to do some anti-valentine's day stuff?"

I nod. "What do you have planned?"

He smirked. "We're going to my condo in the City and sit on my deck. When a couple walks by holding hands we're going to water bomb them."

I laughed.

He can't be serious.

He grabbed my hand and we left his place.

At the condo he pulled me out of the car and we ran up the stairs to the top floor. He opened the door and he filled up the balloons.

I exited the condo and sat on the deck.

Landon came out with a bucket full of balloons. He set them between us.

I saw a couple below us.

Landon picked up a balloon and threw it at the pair.

I heard the splash and cursing.

I started laughing.

Landon peered over the balcony. "They're gone."

I picked up a balloon and waited for the next couple to come past. I saw one and I threw the water balloon over.

I stood tall and waved at them. "How's it going?" I yelled.

Landon wrapped his arms around my waist. "Sorry, about that. My girl thought it would be fun to throw balloons over the balcony. I didn't see you down there."

The couple flipped us off and continued walking.

Landon pulled me inside. "I didn't think you'd have it you to say 'hi' to the couple."

I shrugged. "I didn't want to be a wimp like you, Landon."

He shook his head. "I'm not a wimp."

I smirked. "Prove it."

He crosses his arms. "What do you want me to do?"

I pulled his t-shirt off him and grabbed the towel off the lounge. "Take your pants off and wrap the towel around yourself. Go outside and drop the balloon at a woman on her own."

I waited inside.

Landon turned to me. "I see a woman."

I stepped outside and I saw her.

Landon dropped the balloon and it hits the target.

I heard the woman curse.

I giggle and cover my mouth.

Landon leans over the balcony. "I'm sorry about that, miss. My son accidently dropped the balloon."

*End flashback*

Landon is in the middle of saying something.

I turn to him. "What did you say?"

He laughs. "I asked what kind of flowers and chocolates do you like?"

"White roses and peppermint."

He types that into his phone.

Grandmother looks at me. "Grandfather and I are going upstairs. You should stay down here so you don't hear anything."

Landon shakes his head. "Grandmother, you didn't need to give me that mental image."

Grandmother and Grandfather leave the room laughing.

Landon looks at me. "What do you want to do?"

I look at the tv. "Let's watch a movie. You set everything up and I'll make us a big bowl of popcorn."

I exit the room and enter the kitchen.

The cook looks at me when I approach him. "What can I get you?"

"Popcorn, please."

He nods. "I'll get someone to bring it out for you. Do you want a soft drink?"

"Two Pepsi lite's, please. Landon is here too."

I walk over to Landon and sit next to him. He wraps his arms around me and we watch The Marine.
