After they finished dinner, as Ethan and Amara helped Gabby clean up, Gabby had a thought.

"Have you thought about names yet?" she asked. "You're going to need two, ya know."

Amara just rolled her eyes, and smiled. "I'm only four and a half months along."

"Still!" Gabby said.

"Most parents start coming up with names before they've even conceived," Ethan added. "So, technically you're behind."

Amara laughed a little, but stayed quiet.

"Do you seriously have no idea what you're going to name the babies?" Gabby asked.

"I have some suggestions," Ethan said.

"Me too!"

"Alright!" Amara giggled. "Let's finish these dishes, then we can talk about it."

They went back to cleaning up the kitchen.

"Y'know," Gabby started, "we're going to have to go shopping for baby stuff soon."

Amara threw the dishcloth at her.

The truth was, Amara had been avoiding thinking about shopping for stuff. It just made the situation more real--plus, there was the fact that this type of thing cost a lot of money. However, a few names had passed through her mind.

Once they finished cleaning, they all moved to the living room once again.

"Okay, I have four names for you, two for a boy, and two for a girl," Gabby said, tucking her legs up onto the chair. "That way you can choose."

"Should I be scared?" Amara whispered to Ethan.

"The first name for a boy, is Evan," Gabby suggested. "And for a girl, Grace."

"Oh, those are cute!" Amara exclaimed. "I really like Evan."

"And my other two suggestions are Aristotle and Aphrodite."

"Oh," Amara said slowly. "Okay. Well, thanks for your input. But I think I might settle for something a little more--traditional."

"Is it bad that her suggestions were more casual than I was expecting?" Ethan commented.

"Of course, I'd be open to you naming one of them 'Gabrielle'--or Gabby for short," Gabby continued.

Ethan facepalmed as Amara laughed, though she wasn't sure who it was really aimed at.

"What if both babies are boys?" Ethan asked.

"Then Evan and Aristotle are still on the table," Gabby said, casually.

"Oh, yeah, I can see it now," Ethan said sarcastically. He pitched his voice up to sound younger. " 'Mommy, why do the kids at school have a hard time saying my name? And why do people say Evan got the normal name?' "

"Well, do you have any suggestions, Mr. Child-Expert?" Gabby shot.

"Oh, please. I think Amara probably has her own ideas for the names of her children," Ethan said.

"Actually, I think I could use all the help I could get at this point," Amara admitted. "I'm really not sure what I'm going to name them--do you have any suggestions?"

"Oh--well, I never really thought about it for you--but--yeah, I do have some ideas," Ethan stuttered a little and cleared hours throat nervously.

Amara turned on the couch to face him. "Okay. Shoot."

"Okay, well-" Ethan hesitated as he thought about it. "For boys, either--Joel, or Matthew."

"Ooh, I like those," Amara said.

"Well, if you want to be casual," Gabby snarked. But she was smirking. Amara caught the mischievous twinkle in her eye.

"And for girls," Ethan continued, ignoring her, "Victoria. Or maybe Evelyn."

"Okay, I admit," Gabby said, "those are pretty cute."

"Thanks! For what it's worth, I like Grace and Evan, too," Ethan said. "What do you think, Amara?"

"I think--I have a lot to think about," Amara said getting up.

"Wait!" She paused and looked at Gabby. "You really don't have any idea of any names?"

"I don't know, Gabby!" Amara finally snapped. "I'm already crazy overwhelmed at the fact that I'm halfway through my pregnancy, I have to go and buy all these baby things and go maternity shopping because I can't do up my pants anymore! And now I can't even think of what to name my kids! How am I supposed to be a good mom, if I can't name a baby?!"

Gabby and Ethan stared in shock, then gave each other an identical glance. Amara couldn't believe all of that had come out at once, but she was kind of relieved. She sank back down into the couch and placed her hand on her belly, feeling one of the babies roll against it. It was strangely comforting.

"Wow--that -- came out of nowhere," Ethan said. "Amara, how long have you been feeling this way?"

"I'm sorry," Amara stated. "I hate when I explode like that, but lately--it just kind of--keeps happening..."

"It's hormones," Gabby said. "It's normal."

"We didn't know you felt this way," Ethan said.

"Yeah, well, I do." Amara slouched back onto the couch. She felt like pouting, crying, doing anything to make herself stop feeling this way.

"If it makes you feel better, we can go shopping this weekend," Gabby suggested. "Maybe after your ultrasound?"

"That's part of the problem though," Amara said. "I have no clue what to get..."

"Can't you find out what you're having this weekend?" Ethan asked. When Amara nodded, he continued, "Maybe that will help you think of some things. Even if you don't buy anything yet."

"Yeah, we can just go get ideas," Gabby said. "I mean, you are only four and a half months along. Yeah, you're halfway through, but you've still got a while to prep for things."

Amara's lower lip trembled, but for a different reason this time. "I love you guys. I don't know if I could do this without you."

"Yeah we're pretty great," Gabby smirked.

"I just wish Mr. Leonard would take responsibility for once," Ethan sighed. "Please don't name one of the babies after him."

"I wasn't planning on it," Amara said. "I really like the name Joel, though."

"What if they're both boys?" Gabby asked. "Any names in mind?"

"Well--" Amara thought for a moment, then said, "I do like Daniel."

"What about for girls?" Ethan questioned.

"Grace," Amara concluded. "Or Andrea."

"Oh, I like those!" Ethan exclaimed.

"See?" Gabby said. "That wasn't so hard! You just came up with four potential names for the babies."

"I guess--but you guys helped," Amara said.

"Yeah," Ethan agreed. "But sometimes you need a bit of help. And the closer you get to actually giving birth, the more you're going to need our help."

"And we're going to be right here to give it to you," Gabby smiled.

Amara smiled too, and there was no holding back the happy tears that were now rolling down her face.

"I know I've just said this, but I love you guys!"

"Yeah, well get used to saying it a lot," Gabby said. "Because we're not going anywhere."
