When the sun was just right we headed down to the beach for the ceremony. And I gave my daughter away to a good man.
Parker threw an amazing reception on the beach that was perfect for my Alexis. She was glowing in wedded bliss. Her light loose champagne dress flowed around her as she danced and drank the night away with her new husband. I wished her mother could see her now, she would have been so proud of her. I didn't matter that we were both 17 when we had our Lex, we loved her and each other. I went to bed the next day with a new baby and dead fiancée. I hadn't had a real relationship since. And it had been a few years since I had a woman's touch.

My depressing thoughts had me heading to the bar for a drink. I was sad that she was leaving home and sad I would be alone when she was gone. I ordered a jack and coke and sipped it as I watched the guests dance. Not wanting to be a Debbie Downer on such a special day I took my whiskey and walked along the beach. In the distance I saw someone else had snuck away too and as I got closer I realized it was Elizabeth. I should have turned away at the realization, but curiosity had me coming up next to her.

"What are you doing hiding from all the festivities?"

She turned at my voice and looked me up and down as I came closer.

"Probably the same as you I'd guess. I'm so happy for Lex and Rhyne but I guess I was feeling a little lonely" she could read my mind I was sure of it. Her eyes saw straight through me. The feeling made me vulnerable as I stood looking at her profile. I watched her as her blonde hair and flowing dress swayed in the wind.

"A dance?" I asked as  I took my drink and set it in the sand, offering her my hand. Smiling up at me she placed her small hand in mine and I pulled her close. Closer than was probably proper for a dad and his daughters best friend. But her body felt good so close to mine and then we began to move. Music from the party could be heard in the background, but only faintly. My whiskey was giving me courage with this woman as we moved slowly.
"I'm happy for them too" I said "but my home is going to be a little emptier now. I'm old though I'm supposed to be lonely but Elizabeth, you have plenty of time you're young and beautiful and intelligent, any man would be crazy not to throw themselves at you."

She sighed quietly, "Maybe Dr. King, but not any man I've wanted."
She looked up into my eyes, her green eyes glowing in the moonlight. Her heated gaze stirred my body and I prayed she  could feeling my rising erection against her body. I wasn't thinking as I leaned down kissing her soft pink lips.
