The picture up above is what Nate looks like. Dylan O' Brien is pretty awesome though! :)

Baleigh's POV

"My goodness, Nate! What happened?" Evelyn put a blanket over Nate's shoulders. Dr. Stone was examining his injuries and shining lights in his face.

"Dad! I'm not blind!" He put his hands in his face, covering his eyes.

"Sorry." Dr. Stone put his flashlight away. "I'll go get my medical bag." He left the room to his office.

"Where's Kiera?" Nate asked. He looked around for his mate.

"She's outside. I'll go get her." I sat up and started heading to the front door when Kiers came bursting in.

"Nathan Michael Stone! Where have you been?" She pushed me out of the way and pulled Nate into a bone-crushing hug.

"Oh my! Nice to see ya too Kiera." Nate hugged her back. "Can you, uh, let me go. I can't really breath."

Kiera let go. "Don't you DARE lave me like that again! I thought you died!" She looked like she was about to kill him.

"Kiera I- I didn't know what to do. I tried to get back and-" Kiera suddenly burst into tears.

"Kiera?" Nate put his hand on her shoulder. "Look at me."

She looked up. Her eyes were full of tears and her faced was streaked was wet.

"I would never leave. Never. I wouldn't do it on purpose. I love you. You're my mate. I can't leave you, and I never want to."

Kiera just looked at him before she gave him another hug, this time she wasn't trying to squeeze him to death.

I saw tears form in Nate's eyes. He held his mate tighter. I had to look away. I didn't want anyone to see my cry.

Evelyn put her hand on Nate's shoulder, breaking the hug. She was crying as well.

"I almost thought I lost you." That was all she could manage to say. She put her head in her hands. Her sobs made it worse for me. I found a box of tissues on one of the counters in the kitchen. I grabbed a few for myself and gave some to Evelyn.

She gave me a nod, signaling a thank you. She wiped her eyes. Nate sat up from his chair and hugged his mom. She started crying harder.

"It's okay Mom," he said. He rubbed her back. Evelyn sobbed in his shoulder. Kiera patted her hand. I felt really left out, not sure what to do. I decided to grab her free hand. I held it, showing that I cared. I still felt really awkward.

Dr. Stone came back. He stood there at the end the kitchen, staring at all of us. Kiera was the first to notice.

"Alan!" She let go of Evelyn's hand. I did too. Nate let go of his mom. His shoulder was soaked from tears.

"It's alright," Dr. Stone said. "I knew you were having a moment. Didn't want to ruin it." He kept his head down and walked over to Nate's chair. Nate had sat back down, his blanket sitting on the seat.

We all leaned over Dr. Stone's shoulder, curious at what he would do. He had grabbed a stethoscope from his bag. He froze in the middle of pulling it out.

"Can you all leave please? I prefer to work alone."

"OH! Yeah. We'll go." Kiera grabbed my hand. "Let's go do that thing we were gonna do with Kato." I nodded and followed her up the stairs.

Evelyn stayed behind for a few seconds before she headed to her room. I think she was hurting more than any of us.

I grabbed Kato who was sitting at the bottom of the stairs. He was grooming his messy fur. When I picked him up, I almost gagged.

"You need a bath, Kato!"

"Oh! Can we do one now! I've always wanted to give a cat a bath!" Kiera gave me puppy dog eyes.

"Do you have any cat shampoo? You can't give a cat human shampoo. That's not good for the cat."

Kiera thought for a second. "We might. Evelyn works as a pet groomer at a vet and always gets a bunch of free products there. We can check the closet."

"Which one?" I asked. I didn't dare put Kato close to my nose. He hissed at me.

"The one on the second floor by your Dad's room." Kiera started up the stairs. "Come on." I followed her up, keeping Kato as far away from me as possible so my nose wouldn't fall off.

We reached the second floor. Kiera led me down the left hallway to the closet. She opened it up and revealed hundreds and cat and dog supplies. Evelyn had things from toys to treats, medicines to bandages. She even had an aquarium and Turtle food.

"Ha! Found some!" Kiera stood on her tippy toes and grabbed a white bottle of cat shampoo. "Lavender scent! Just like my Lavender Mist perfume!" She held the bottle in her right hand and closed the door with the other. "Let's head to the bathroom."

I followed her to the nearest bathroom. Kiera placed the bottle down and turned the water on. When Kato saw the water, he tried to jump out of my hands.

"Calm down, Kato! It's just water!" He wouldn't stop. Stupid cat.

Giving Kato a bath was a nightmare. He kept on trying to jump out of the bathtub. Kiera would barely keep him in! When we tried to put the soap on, he flipped out and tried jumped out of the bathtub. I grabbed him before he reached the door.

"This was a lit harder than I thought," Kiera said. She had soap all over her arms. I laughed.

"This is why I usually don't give him a bath. I just wait for it to rain and put him out there."

Kiera laughed. "I'm gonna go ask Evelyn for help." She dried her hands off and walked out the door to find Nate's mom.

I turned Kato around to have him face me.

"Now listen up, cat!" He looked at me like I was crazy. "You are going to take this bath wether you like it or not. I don't care if you hate the scent or lavender or if you don't like Kiera. We are going to clean you until every little bit of dirt is out if your fur."

If Kato was a human, he probably would have rolled his eyes and said he agreed. Instead, he purred. I smiled though I knew he probably would still try to run away.

Evelyn came in with Kiera in toe. Her eyes were a little red from crying, but she looked much better.

"Trying to clean the cat, I see?" She smiled. "Let me have him."

I handed her the cat. She put the cat in the tub. Kato tried to run away again but Evelyn held him down. She grabbed some shampoo and started to scrub the soap on his fur. At first, Kato squirmed around, kicking water everywhere. But when Evelyn started to scratch behind his ears, he calmed down.

"How?" I was shocked to see that she was able to calm the cat.

"I raised three werwolf boys and work at a vet. I know a lot of things."

Kiera and I smiled. We watched Evelyn scrub Kato. When she wrapped Kato up in a white towel, the smell of lavender filled the room.

"Did you talk to Nate at all?" I asked. It was a burning question that I had when Evelyn came in to help. I felt like asking would make it uncomfortable for her but I really needed to know.

"Yes. I did," she said. She didn't hesitate or question me. I calmed down just a little.

"How's he doin'," Kiera asked.

Evelyn pulled the towel off Kato and grabbed a brush that she brought from her closet. "Nothing broken. He needed four stitches on the cut on his forehead, but that's pretty much it."

Kiera let out a sigh of relief. "Thank God!"

"Did he-" I started.

"Say anything about where he was?" Evelyn finished.

"Yeah."

She hesitated a bit. "He said that him and Collin were kidnapped."

"What? Kidnapped! Who kidnapped him? I will rip whoever touched my mate to shreds if I lay my hands on th-"

"Kiera!" Evelyn gave her the mom look. Kiera shut her mouth and put her head down. Evelyn continued.

"The two were kidnapped and put in a cell. They chained them up with silver chains. Nate was then moved to a lab and was supposed to be a test subject. But he escaped just in time before-" Evelyn stopped.

"Before they what?" I asked.

She finished grooming Kato and let him run off. I guessed he was probably going to find some food. Evelyn stood up and took a deep breath.

"Before they brainwashed him."

I stepped back. Brainwashed him? Just like my dad. Were these the same people? Were they all connected?

"I thought they were connected, but Nate said that the lab was located at least 30 miles from here. When Sydney researched where Mr. O' Conners worked, it was more south and much farther away."

Weird. Could they have someone had others who worked there that moved closer?

"Does Tyler and Sydney know?" Kiera asked.

"Yes. Alan called Tyler. Sydney tried to go see Nate but she wasn't feeling too good. She's about 4 weeks to her due date. I wouldn't try to bother her as much for a while."

"What about Collin?" I asked. I wanted to know if he was okay.

"Nate said that he tried to get Collin out but the door was locked shut. And he told me that he didn't have time to find the keys and get him out."

I couldn't hold back any longer. "What? What do you mean he couldn't get him out?"

"I'm sorry Baleigh. He just couldn't."

I growled in frustration. I thought maybe Nate had found a way to get Collin to safety but he was still locked up, chained to a wall. He must be scared, in pain.

I ran out of the bathroom. Kiera and Evelyn called after me, but I didn't listen. I raced up the stairs to my room and slammed the door. I couldn't hold back my tears. I felt like why whole world had fallen apart.

YAY! This was a lot! About 1700 words! I feel like it's shorted, but that's just me. Please leave comments and votes!
