Oh my goodness! #351 in werwolf! This is awesome! It was at #863 but now! This is awesome! Thanks guys! Here's another chapter.

Collin's POV

Kiera, Nate, and I sat around the island on wooden barstools. A bowl of oranges, grapes, strawberries, and blueberries sat in the middle. Kiera had Baleigh's pet cat Kato in her lap. She loved the cat and didn't want to let him go.

"So.......Collin!" Kiera started. She popped a blueberry in her mouth. "How did it feel when you almost ran over Baleigh. I mean, I know it was all an accident and you didn't know she was your mate until who touched her, but STILL!"

"I-um. It-a..." I didn't know what to say. I was really freaked out for hitting her, but when I felt that spark, I felt even worse. She was my mate. The one who I will be spending the rest of the life with and I almost killed her. Nice going, Collin.

"You're probably thinking, 'I'm such a jerk for almost killing the only person I'll be spending the rest of my life with.' Must have been horrible, huh? I mean, if it were me who almost hit Nate. Omg! I would feel like a murderer or something. No one wants that on their shoulders. I know I wouldn't. Seems pretty crazy to think-"

"Kiera! Will you stop talking for once!" Nate shouted at her. The whole house got quiet. Nate's voice had silenced everything.

"Uh, okay," Kiera said. She put her head down and stared at Kato. I felt really bad for her. Nate had made three promises when becoming Alpha. One of them was to never hurt Kiera in any way possible.

I looked at Nate. I could see in his eyes that he felt horrible. His whole face showed it. I wanted to comfort him but I would only make it worse.

"I'm sorry, Kiera. I-I didn't mean-"

"It's fine, Nate. I just need some air." Kiera sat up, still holding the cat, and walked to the front door. Nate didn't watch her leave. He stared at the fruit bowl. I looked away once she left. The past few days have been a mess.

"I didn't mean to hurt her!" Nate began. "I was just so angry that she never thinks before she speaks! I could see you were hurt. I don't want my mate to hurt my best friend!" He placed his head in his hands. He sat there for a few seconds before pulling them back up on his head. I could see water in his eyes. Nate never cried. He was the toughest Alpha I know. Alpha's don't cry.

"I know you didn't mean to hurt her," I said. "Sometimes you have to say what you feel is right. And you're right. She doesn't always think before speaking, but that's just her. Kiera speaks what's on her mind, no matter who she'll affect. That's her way of living."

"I know, but I shouldn't have yelled at her. I promised never to hurt her, and I did. I'm a horrible mate." Nate sat up. He looked back at the front door before heading up the grand staircase to his room. I didn't bother to stop him.

I was all alone in the kitchen. I was lost in my thoughts about what just happened. I needed to do something. I can't just sit here and let things happen. I'm the Beta! Beta's are as much as important as an Alpha! I knew what I needed to do.

I got up and grabbed two oranges from the bowl and a stick of beef from the fridge. I headed to the door that Kiera walked out of. I expected to not find her there but I saw her on the front porch steps. She watched Kato as he played with some snow that sat on the ground.

"Hey," I said. Kiera almost jumped.

"Sorry! I didn't mean to scare you." I sat down next to her.

"What do you want?" she said. Her voice made me want to leave but I stood my ground.

"Thought you wanted something to eat." I handed one of the oranges to her. She took it out of my hand and began to peel. She didn't bother to look at me.

"And I can tell that you want to talk," I said.

"Talk about what?" Kiera yelled. "Talk about the fact that Nate promised to never hurt me and he did! Sure! I was talking a lot and hurting your feelings, but I can't hold back what I want to say! I like to talk! I talk what goes on in my head! That's me! Nate just needs to except that or I won't be mates with him anymore!"

"Woah! Slow down there Kiera. You don't really want to get rid of Nate. I know you love him and he loves you. Just after you left, he was about to cry because he hurt you. He felt absolutely awful for hurting you."

"He did?" She finally looked at me.

"Yeah. He cares a lot about you. He would never purposely hurt you."

Kiera looked back at Kato. He tried to pull out a stick that was stuck in the snow. He pounced on his tiny legs, trying to grab the stick. Instead, he fell backwards onto a smaller pile of snow. Kiera and I laughed.

"If I were you, I would talk to him about it," I said. "Reason with him. Apologizing is always a good idea."

"Okay." Kiera got up and turned towards the door. "Oh! Collin?"

"Yeah?"

"Sorry for what I said. I wasn't thinking. I know you care about Baleigh. I'm pretty sure that what happened last night really struck you hard. Sorry for making it worse."

"It's okay, Kiera."

She smiled at me. She opened the door and walked inside.

I felt so much better. Everything was coming together perfectly. I let out a sigh and watched Kato try to grab the same stick as before. He finally figured out that he needed to dig it out. I kind of wanted him to fall on his butt again.

I sat on the porch, letting my mind wander before I smelled something odd. My head perked up. The scent was strange. It didn't seem far off.

I quickly sat up and surveyed the area. I didn't see and movement in the trees. The scent was strong in the woods. I became curious and put my nose in the air.

"Be right back Kato," I said. The cat paid no attention to me and continued to dig. I quickly ran to the woods and shifted.

Finally! I've had such a busy two days that I wasn't able to get this down until now! Another cliffhanger! Hehe! Hoped you guys liked it! Don't forget to leave comments about what you thought!
