Ashley's POV

I looked at him speechless. I didn't wait for this confession.

"James...I..." I muttered.

"Ashley, don't say anything. I know you still love him." I looked away without saying anything. "But I wanted to tell you. I don't force you for anything. And our agreement is still valid. But I don't want to hide my feelings from you anymore." He added. "I want a chance. I will accept your child as my own child. Just give me a chance. I will wait for your answer patiently. But please think about it." He stood up and took the tray. He left the room afterwards.

I closed my eyes. What will I do now? I was bored with problems. I got myself into trouble. And now I couldn't return to the beginning. This agreement was a bad idea.

I breathed deeply.

Blaze's POV

I was waiting for my mother in the study room. She told me she wanted to talk to me. I guessed what it was about.

A few minutes later, she came. Her face was serious. She walked towards the desk and sat down on the seat.

"Sit down." She said.

"Will you tell me what you want to talk about?" I asked, placing my hands on the armchair.

She sighed as she said. "I want to talk about you and Ashley. But I know you have already guessed it." I sighed, bored. "Yesterday I guessed that we would see this type of scene. Because of that, I stalled them and walked in before them. And you didn't surprise me, though. You were cuddling like lovers. What is with you, Blaze?! He is your brother's wife, and she is pregnant with his child as well." I gripped the top of the backrest tightly, clenching my teeth.

"I think it will be good if you continue to stay in your penthouse." She said. I looked at her, stunned. "I wanted to suggest James move into another house with Ashley. But in her state, it will not be a good idea. And James often goes abroad relating to his new project. I don't want her to stay alone at home." She added.

I gave her a fake smile. "Perfect!" I exclaimed sarcastically. "Ok, Mom. I will stay in my penthouse. Don't worry. I will not bother you nor your precious son. And you can continue trying to make your most precious son's marriage last forever." I said bitterly.

"What are you talking about, Blaze?!" She hissed as she stood up. "I think of both of you. You are my son, too. And I love both of you equally." She said.

I gave her a sarcastic smile and left the study room without listening to her anymore, slamming the door behind me.

In the hall I bumped into my father and brother. "Where are you going?" My father asked me.

I sighed. "To my penthouse." I said, trying to control my anger.

My mother came towards us.

"You are not going anywhere. You are not going away from my sight for a second." My father ordered.

I gave my mother an arrogant smirk as I said. "It will be as you wish, Dad."

My father looked at me, surprised. He tapped my shoulder as he gave me a warm smile.

"Wow, Blaze! I have never seen you before, obedient like now." My brother commented.

"Why? Are you not happy that I am staying, my parents' son?" I asked mockingly, emphasizing the last words my parents' son.

"Blaze!" My mother warned me.

"Blaze, why would I like you to live somewhere else?" My brother asked.

"I don't know." I gave him a knowing smirk and left, bumping into his chest.

Ashley's POV

I was laying on the bed when someone knocked on the door.

"Come in." I responded.

Patricia walked in. I sat up on the bed. She gave me a warm smile as she walked towards me.

"How are you feeling, dear?" She asked as she sat down beside me on the bed.

"I am fine. Thanks." I gave her a smile.

She looked uncomfortable. She cleared her throat and said. "Ashley, I want to talk to you about Blaze." I bit my lower lip nervously. "I talked to him yesterday, but he didn't listen to me. Because of that, I came to talk to you. I hope you will understand me." She sighed and continued. "It will be for the best if you will stay away from each other."

"But I..."

"In the cottage..." She interrupted me as she gave me a knowing look. She sighed.

I looked down, blushing while playing with my fingers nervously. "I really like you, Ashley. You are a good girl. I see you like my daughter. But I don't want you to cause problems between Blaze and James. I am worried. The relationship between them will get worse if James finds out about your past. Blaze already behaves badly towards James. Please, try to stay away from Blaze, for all our sakes." She stopped as she placed her hand on top of mine. "You are going to be a mother. You will understand me well. Mothers will do everything for their children's happiness." She gave me a tender smile.

I just nodded. I knew if I said anything, I would burst out crying. I looked down, nibbling on my bottom lip. I was fighting back my tears. I was oversensitive. Ugh! These hormones.

"Good....And I want to invite your parents for dinner this weekend. Is it suitable for you too?"

"Yes." I muttered, still trying to hold my tears back.

"Great! I will call and invite them." She said as she stood up. She gave me a smile and left the room.

I leaned back against the pillow as I placed my hand on my stomach, rubbing it gently while tears were dropping down my cheek.

****

Today my parents were coming for dinner. We were waiting for them.

After the conversation with Patricia, I was trying to avoid Blaze as much as possible. I could not say it was easy for me. I loved him, but I should do it. It would be better for all of us. I should stay behind my decisions. Even if it was so difficult and painful.

The doorbell hummed. The housekeeper opened the door as she let my parents in.

We greeted each other. "Let me introduce my son, Blaze to you." George said to my parents as he gestured to Blaze.

They shook each other's hand. My father looked at Blaze with a questioning look as he asked." Did we meet before?"
